3 pointsmy highlighting Ah to be young and to still think everyone else is to blame and not know as yet that’s a complete dead end. Happy days.

2 pointsI appreciate the wisdom of your comment and offer my response as an expression of my current feelings, not necessarily as a rebuttal. I don't know you well but well enough, I think, to know that nothing I say below will be anything you don't already realize. I see a lot of sickness in my society, and our global society, and a lot of good also. While it may not always be healthy, seeing clearly is the first step towards change. I think it is important in a healthy society to rail against those causing abuse and harm to the most vulnerable among us. Equally important to spread awareness among those who may be ignorant and well-adjusted to it. Calm and stability are priceless but won't always stop starvation, torture, extermination, and the host of other atrocities going on. Sometimes action is needed and, of course, it is important that action come from that place of calm and stability to be effective and appropriate.

2 pointsI don’t think it will end, but I feel you’ve got your heart in the right place.

2 pointsif you are talking about directing the flow of chi within the body, i have been cautioned (by several teachers) not to do this as it can result in chi deviation, imbalance, and subsequent problems. Rather, trust the innate intelligence of the chi to go where it is needed, and by whatever route is needed. in other words, the chi is smarter than my limited understanding. This resonates for me. if you are talking about using the whole body to breathe in and breathe out, yes that can be done, but i was given the caution (by more than one teacher) to not do this for very long as it can overload the system with unpleasant results.

2 pointsreminded me of DDJ ch. 70 [start ch 70 MWD B (DIO)] 吾 言 易 知 也 wú yán yì zhī yě - We say: change awareness, 易 行 也 yì xíng yě - change behaviour. 而 天 下 ér tiān xià - But in our society 莫 之 能 知 也 mò zhī néng zhī yě - it’s not possible to be aware, and 莫 之 能 行 也 mò zhī néng xíng yě - it’s not possible to be alright. … [end ch 70 MWD B (DIO)] 是 以 圣(聖) 人 shì yǐ shèng rén - Therefore a ‘wise and moral’ person 被 褐 bèi hè - meets with the darkness 而 怀(懷) 玉 ér huái yù - and yet has a pure mind.

2 pointsHuman madness will not end. There will always be extremes and there will always be differences of opinion regarding what is madness and what is sanity. As Jiddu Krishnamurti famously said, it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to such a sick society. But that does not mean we can't improve our situation and that of others by beginning at grass roots levels. Human "civilization" is at least 5 - 6,000 years old, possibly older, and yet nothing meaningful has changed in our collective and individual psyches. We are evolving technologically and possibily intellectually but not psychologically or emotionally. In many ways we feel more sophisticated, more knowledgable, more capable, but if you look at our situation, inequality is worse than ever in history, our destructive potential is more formidable than ever before, the effects of our presence on Earth more destructive than ever before. When you look at our behavior and its effects, our species acts very much like a cancer - growing without any restraint or sensibility, choking out all competition, destroying our loving host, and putting our very survival at risk. It's nice to imagine that something or someone will come along and change all that but the evidence does not support such a dream. None of our religious, political, or intellectual leaders have made much of a difference overall. Certainly there are regions and groups that do better than others and this fluctuates over time but overall I see little evidence of collective psychological and emotional growth. While this may sound and feel very discouraging, there is a solution as described above. We must free ourselves from the shackles of ignorance and limitation imposed by millennia of conditioning and sabotage. We must discover and remember what it means to be fully human, both individually and collectively. That can only start by turning inward and looking at the truth of our own personal situation. For me, this is the core and purpose of spirituality.

2 pointsJust saying hi and introducing myself. I love taiji, bagua, and neigong/qigong. Happy to connect with others.

2 pointsHuman madness waxes and wanes. It will only end with humanity ends. As to you, remember you are a spirit, not a human. You can end your madness at any time by embracing this.

2 pointsmy view (and my experience) is that when we change ourselves, then our view of the world changes. we change the world when we change ourselves.

1 pointOne of the most powerful transformative practices i ever came across was a single line to that effect. That by simply broadcasting qualities like joy and compassion and kindness, as I go about my day doing the things that i love (as I work in the garden for instance) then the kindness and the intelligence and the benevolence of the universe delivers that to people, places, situations where it is most needed and where it has the most benefit. In this way, one person really can and does make a difference in the world. This helps prevent a sense of overwhelm and what some people describe as feeling helpless to effect change.
-
1 pointHuman madness is overwhelming, so I recommend becoming a kindness specialist. Maybe your heart feels an affinity for a particular issue -- poverty, environmental protection, racism...whatever it may be. I think it´s enough to concentrate one´s change-the-world efforts in that one area. Or perhaps you´re not drawn to big splashy issues at all, but you´re an excellent gardener: brighten the world with flowers. Or lets say you´re an artist or a cook or the neighborhood extrovert who smiles and says hi to people walking down the street. It all counts. So many ways to heighten the vibe.

1 pointanyone connected to all by way of universal energy would of course be concerned. this is the buddhist state of compassion.
-
1 pointon the other hand, there is this. " Krishnamurti answered: "How can you expect me to be concerned with what should be done or how it should be done? If you have once lived on a mountain top, you cannot return to the plains. You can only try to make other people feel the purity of the air and enjoy the infinite prospect, and become one with the beauty of life there."

1 pointgood point but I'm talking more about all of us and not just a few of us,
-
1 pointGood news, human madness will actually end on this Earth when this Earth becomes/evolves into more like a heaven for then madness/adharma will not be able manifest upon Her, as for other human/soul type habitations or worlds where madness can still manifest that is above my pay grade.

1 pointthey are "wise sayings" for a reason. our point of power (to dissolve the "madness") is when we actually put it into practice in our own individual daily life and daily practice. that's the difference between "knowledge" and acting on knowledge.

1 pointHello, I practice neigong intensively (6-8 hours daily). I see qi in the air, everywhere. This year during practice I connected to the Dao maybe 4 or 5 times. Each time was quite crazy. I was hoping we could have a discussion and people could ask questions. Also I really love taiji and bagua, in case anyone wants to discuss them. Thank you.

1 pointI will share what I experienced. After I had these experiences I confirmed they were very similar to anecdotes from daoist texts, but the experience in itself... here we go These experiences happen during neigong. I'm standing, and im abandoning form, abandoning myself. I focus on pure love, seflessness, and i consciously recruit my heart (i happen to be a loving person, sensitive, etc..) and I use all the love I can muster to send to everyone in the world. During this the energy is circulating rapidly, it becomes overwhelming and then I seem to cross into some state of higher awareness. In my mind's eye I saw this: a sky of infinite fire, like orange clouds stretched out forever. This is pure yang. Directly underneath it was a pure and clear sky. It carried the feeling of infinite calm. The calm balanced the fire perfectly. The feeling was beyond overwhelming. The power is like nothing else. It cannot even be processed. When I felt this, my ego dissolved instantly. Instantly. I knew I was nothing, I knew this thing could crush me (and everyone) instantly, effortlessly, it was beyond scary. I fell to my knees and starting crying profusely. I was alone in my place but I kept saying out loud "wtf was that. wtf was that." I felt unworthy of touching this thing. I felt sad it chose me to touch it because I didnt deserve to feel something so great when I am nothing. Im trying my best to develop a methodology for more consistent contact, but maybe the dao chooses more than I do, who can say. That being said, just for a 'lower level' connection, I can fully recommend the following: 1. Keep your heart open. It doesnt matter who hurt you, how much pain you have, what happened. Focusing on pain, justifying it, will only create more pain. 2. Reality is shared space, our consciousness overlaps, and what you radiate defines your reality. Radiate goodness, love, protection, and your world will be filled with these things. Love = connection, energetically speaking. More love, more connection to the dao. 3. Abandon forms, abandon strict methods. The dao is far too immense to be understood or managed or anything through strict belief. It flows, is infinitely perfect, and so to identity with it you must abandon yourself, your sense of self, and just surrender to it. This is very important I feel.

1 pointJust saw them live a few months ago doing this song on the Beat tour, sans Fripp but the performance was great! Line up was Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Steve Vai and Danny Carey.
-
1 pointDo Describe the process of how you refine yin and yang energies to become wuji, and your process of how wuji leads to revealing the dao that you experience. Also do share your experience of how Taiji Quan supports that process. Thanks.

1 pointIf I said Joy Division was a great band, would that be an unpopular opinion? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8lgsVXiXZg&list=RDg8lgsVXiXZg&start_radio=1#t=20s The link could not be embedded because www.youtube.com does not allow embedding of that video. Ok, I know the lead singer of New Order was not a member of Joy Division. Still, if I said New Order was a great band, I fear that would not be an unpopular opinion.

1 pointI would caution that if we think we no longer have craving or aversion, and have perfect equanimity, we are probably not paying close enough attention... Extinguishing karma is certainly possible in theory and elusive in practice as there are layers and layers of ever more subtle grasping. Each moment of inner quiet and stillness that gives birth to presence, connection, and genuine caring for self and others is essentially reaching the goal. Little by little these moments become more familiar, easier to access, and more continuous.

1 pointWhen your mind is resting in that spaciousness it is not different from enlightened mind. The more you notice these respites from thinking mind, the longer they get and more often they happen. Increases in time spent resting mind also make awakening more likely. Never try to force the process, only continue to maintain a "curiosity", and don't grasp when you find that those moments have arisen. Keep up the good work. That awareness is what you are. Yes awareness moves, and it is not just in the body, it is everywhere. When you hear a bird out in the forest, is the sound at your ears or seemingly with the bird where it manifests? This is a clue.

1 pointHe runs the cult, and all its members truly learn is that the cult leader is a great person of profound wisdom and mythical skills. They then interact with others who have undergone a similar brainwashing process, reinforcing their belief that their views are undoubtedly correct, which fosters cognitive bias. There is no evidence of any "abilities" or "spiritual attainments." Many have observed that asking his "students" what they have learned or gained from years of training often provokes aggressive reactions.

0 pointsPlease: (1) Both Yoga (with prana) and QiGong (with chi) have a practice of "breathing into the body". (2) I discovered how to to do this without anyone instructing me how to do it. (3) But I have difficulty describing how exactly I do it . . . or how someone else might do it. (4) It's not (in my experience) only "intention" or "attention". (5) There seems to be some preliminary orientation of the mouth and throat involved. (6) If you try, for example, to make a "hissing sound" with an open mouth (like a cat) . . . that seems to be close. (7) You tighten the muscles in your mouth in some way (that I can't explain well) . . . and exhale . . . and it's at that point that the intention to direct the breath in a certain direction in the body becomes possible. (8) Any ideas on this (?) Thanks . . .
