Commodity Fetish of Folk Taoism as Late Capitalist apocalypse

Recommended Posts

man the saddest part was the white dudes in underwear and the MC claiming they were america's top models and the chinese ladies screaming and taking photos and video on their cell phones - clearing one of the high lights of their lives was capturing those white dudes on camera in their under wear. haha.

So my angle on this is turn it around - what extent is Taoism just white dudes having commodified Asian mysticism as the best late capitalist tantric product?

And is there some sort of convergence of these two trends?

Any white dudes in China doing qigong who pay their stay being being paid for being a white dude? haha.

So Cargill is claiming to pay farmers 30% more when they get UTZ certified and this money is enabling farmers to send their kids to school instead of using child slave labor.

Let's hope it works out. Meanwhile the court case will proceed.

I forgot one crucial "commodification" of qigong in China - the mass harvesting of body organs from very healthy qigong praticisers.

http://www.startribune.com/opinion/commentaries/302248031.html

If you read the comments on this op-ed against organ harvesting - published in the Minnesota paper - the Communist party is already lobbying against the introduced legislation.

So obviously this is a hot button to be sure - you can see someone saying oh it's obviously after they are dead as if to justify the practice.

Yep - put people to death for qigong!

Nope - the organs are harvested while they are alive - but nice try to incorrectly "infer" that from the article.

Amazing how brainwashed people are - or should I say how "commodified" qigong students have become.

organ parts as commodities - that is the ultimate commodification of qigong in China.

So for the traditional teaching context I have focused on the Bushmen culture which composes 90% of human history from before human language was evolved or invented - with the same trance songs documented from the oldest tribes of the oldest languages - which proves those trance songs existed before human language existed - from around 70,000 BCE

Absolutely impossible to 'prove' this in any way whatsoever. We cant know what went on 70 years ago let alone 70000 years.

Let alone what may or may not existed before human language was invented, lol.

So how do we treat this? Only as speculation.

Actually it's quite easily proven.

I mean if you believe in science.

A musicologist found very important music which was used at a

woman's first menarche called ‘elan music’ (honoring the fat-rich antelope). This

‘elan music’ was also present in other language groups of other Bushmen

language groups and also the noun-less speakers who are not exactly Bushmen

but they're related. This means that way back before these groups diverged,

somebody invented or composed (this) music and then they took it with them.

There's two things that are a "Buyer's Market" in the world of the commodity fetish - one is global labor and the other is qigong masters. haha.

So global labor - I've been told by the typical white male "rational" expert on thetaobums that there should be no enforcement of a living wage for workers instead the "market" should decide what a worker should receive.

Indeed this "market" creates a race to the bottom by employers competing with each other for the cheapest created commodity possible - and so they either 1) don't pay their workers sufficiently - this is called wage theft - or 2) don't pay the workers at all - this is called forced labor and previously was legal slavery with deeds of ownership of people, etc.

So for example Al Jazeera has covered this issue recently - https://t.co/HkblVvAzld

I personally protested at the Gap - and a fancy white lady with her daughter - the lady yelled at me, "Your scaring my daughter!" - and I said, "What about the girls making these clothes?" I'm glad to say that Gap store shut down.

But the above news reveals the truth in detail - 12 year old girls paid 12 cents an hour working 12 hour days to make the fancy clothes for white girls in the U.S. meanwhile the Gap claims to be "socially responsible."

That's why I also volunteered my time to lead a campaign to get the University of MInnesota to join the Workers Rights Consortium.

So in China it is the estimated 1.2 million Tibetans who have been put into forced labor camps now focused on export markets for the U.S.

I had a Chinese coworker, a high-tech college-trained worker so to be well-paid in a high-tech job, tell me that she didn't think slavery was much of a problem anymore. Clearly the Chinese and Chinese-Americans are not aware of what their government is doing.

So yeah this wage theft is also a problem in the U.S.

Another "Buyer's Market" - the fastest growing employment sector in the U.S. is these low-paid jobs where wage theft is common - basically forced labor is now becoming the new commodity fetish in the U.S.!

And so then we get the typical white male shopping around for the best qigong masters.

This is hilarious. In the traditional training in China the qigong masters pick their students in a secret training based on lineage, etc. - and so the aura and energy and past lives of the student has to be read. It is know that it is more difficult to find a good student then it is to find a good teacher.

But with the commodification of Taoism as the ultimate commodity fetish - the Buyer's Market is all about white males looking for the best qigong master to commodify.

Of course that is the "traditional" training - the tantra "sex sells" spin on this is that white females rely on the qigong master for that healing energy that the typical white male does not know how to provide. haha. I saw this last night on twitter with a black female energy healer complaining about how black males don't know how to really "Love" the females either. I sent her the Nityama links on how the energy master creates blissful energy in the females - without even touching them. haha.

In the original healing community of the original humans - the Bushmen of Africa - all the males trained to be spiritual healers and this focused on the sexual jealousy of the females and so healing them meant healing those needs. But since the "sex sells" culture is fixated on male ejaculation then the modern female is trained to think that getting a male to ejaculate means a successful commodity transaction as taken place. You see this in the classic film - Taxi  Driver - where Robert DeNiro is pleaded by the girl prostitute - "C'mon Man How do you want to make it?" And then she suggests various ways she can get him to ejaculation in order to get his money as a proper "sex sells" commodity.

With the mainstream commodity fetish of sex sells now it's low porn on Yahoo with cleavages and butts - cleavages are really just the frontal "female display behavior" by humans for the subconscious ejaculation focus. And so what was the primate backside display was also transferred to the front for humans. tantrically it is known that the breasts, as Mantak Chia teaches, actually can suck up the yin qi energy to cause vagus nerve orgasm as well. But then this type of "male gaze" is not known by the techno-feminists attacking, rightfully so, the male pervert just addicted to his own ejaculations. And so that is the true "Race to the Bottom" exposed as the late-capitalist "sex sells" commodity fetish - it is quite literally the money as stored up shit (anal retention to protest a person's body being used up against their will). And so the final commodity fetish is all about please the male's somehow secret desire to anally penetrate females - this is some twisted stuff considering the original human culture knew nothing about homosexuality - which is the typical anal penetration practice.

Oh well such are the ways of a confused modern human dilemma. Too bad the whole ecological balance of the planet is being taken down with it - but then at least we can turn to the ultimate commodity - the qigong masters - in the hopes that their healing energy and our work to resonate with it - will bring back to balance to life on Earth. As Acoustic Ecology has empirically discovered - there is a finely tuned balance of frequency and time energy niches in real ecology - each animal suited for their mating calls - their songs - and chirping - like frogs near a pond looking for their mates - or the "frequency matching" of male chickadees - their minor third song with the lowest one as the dominant male, the most attractive to the females, and therefore the strongest jing energy - and so all the other males try to emanate that dominant chickadee by lowering and "matching" the frequency of their minor third chickadee song. Is it any difference for white males following the qigong masters? I don't think so. haha.

this is an exciting doc - brand new - on the growing grassroots Solar/Wind/Electric Car 100% renewable energy movement.

This doc, has in turn, been countered by a radical green doc stating that the Third INdustrial Revolution is basically a lie.

So this is the counter-video - saying that the first one is fake.

But I have rewatch this 2nd video to double-check the argument.

So I'm not gonna let some white dude commodifying himself define reality for me - I looked into this more - a person in the audience suggests the 1 trillion tree project as a way to stop global warming.

Guy McPherson pooh-poohs it but I decided to look into it more.

It turns out 1 trillion trees would only absorb 25% of greenhouse gases - but it would also increase cloud cover by 2 % which would then stop global warming in its tracks by reflecting the heat back into the atmosphere - from the sun - the albedo effect.

So then indeed we need a mass tree reforestation movement on Earth - I have always believed this.

In 5th grade we had a photo class and for my project all I photographed were trees.

I have had telepathic tree dreams also - so I know trees care about humans and send messages to us - communicate to us in spirit form.

This xmas I donated $400 to

Trees for the Future - which minus the gift certificates I got - the cost of that - so 10 cents a tree - was about 3500 trees planted.

Dang does this article hit spot on the focus of this thread.

"Mindfulness" as the latest corporate mind control app.

http://www.thebaffler.com/salvos/mind-your-business

The panel on “3 Steps to Build Corporate Mindfulness the Google Way” had just begun when a small group of protesters walked on stage and unfurled a banner saying “Eviction-Free San Francisco,” a reference to the savage gentrification that Google, among others, has inflicted on the city. After security pushed the protesters offstage and started a tug-of-war for the banner, a Google mindfulness representative intoned, “We can use this as a moment of practice. Check in with your body and see what’s happening, what it’s like to be around conflict and people with heartfelt ideas that may be different than what we’re thinking.” Zen-like, the panel rolled on, undistracted by the brief glimpse of mass evictions and homelessness.

and

This is Buddhism sliced up and commodified.

The authors define “vanity capital” in terms that sound like Gordon Gekko and Abraham Maslow got together to deliver a self-help seminar: It’s “the pursuit of, and the accumulation of, attributes and accessories to augment self-confidence by enhancing one’s appearance and prestige. It is self-actualization through self-improvement and self-focus.”

http://qz.com/393171/vanity-capital-is-the-new-metric-for-narcissism-and-analysts-say-its-value-worldwide-is-greater-than-germanys-gdp/

So this is a new "market"? haha. I thought capitalism was always based on vanity - but I guess it's worse than ever with "man-bags" etc. for several trillion dollars of total vanity spending.

And so is qigong also a "vanity capital" product? it definitely fits the definition:

self-actualization through self-improvement and self-focus.”

O.K. let's see if it's on the radar yet.

http://qz.com/387928/airlines-want-you-to-do-these-ridiculous-mindfulness-exercises-in-your-cramped-seat/

Hilarious! I got this hit when I searched mindfulness and vanity capital.

Airlines want you to do these ridiculous mindfulness exercises in your cramped seat

I'm proud to say I have not flown since soon after 9/11 when TSA in Boston accused me of being a gang member since my drivers I.D. had me wearing a winter hat.

My response - it's Minnesota lady - no one cares if you wear a winter hat there all the time - even for a drivers license photo. haha. Hilarious!!!!

But anyway....

Last week, British Airways rolled out new mindfulness videos and healthy eating tips on its new A380 service between San Francisco and London. The purpose, the company said in a statement, is to “provide fliers with meditation techniques for a relaxed and positive state of mind.”

Oh yeah - now we're talking! So you are flying across the ATlantic - kicking out mega-global warming emissions and doing your mindfulness exercises - as demanded by the capitalist SuperEgo Big Brother TSA lockdown. haha.

I can't even watch this. Too funny.

Buddha was definitely a jet airliner traveler.

This Dharma transmission set in motion the financial, behavioral, and sexual scandal at the SFZC that culminated in 1983. Unfortunately, this scandal was not unique in American Zen history, for there are few major centers untouched by such scandals. [33]  The Baker/ SFZC/ Suzuki case serves well as an example of what can go wrong, exposing some of the underlying causes and, all too often, toxic consequences.

By Peter Ford, Staff writer / October 14, 2011

Beijing

The abbot of Shaolin monastery, the home of kung fu, is in trouble again, beset by renewed online rumors that he lives a less than pure life.

The latest rumors spreading on China’s lively and not always reliable Internet accuse the abbot of maintaining a mistress and son in Germany, and of holding huge sums of money in foreign bank accounts.

The monastery issued a statement Thursday denying the stories as “vicious lies woven from nothing but causing great damage to the abbot Shi Yongxin and the Buddhist temple itself.” It gave an email address and phone number for the 1,500 year old monastery, “inviting anyone who has any evidence” of his eminence’s alleged misdeeds “to report directly.”

Only last May, abbot Shi was shaking off rumors that he had been caught visiting a prostitute during an anti-vice sweep by police in the province of Henan, where the Shaolin temple is located.
Shi, the 30th abbot of the temple where Zen Buddhism was born, has attracted a good deal of criticism in China for the manner in which he has commercialized his shrine. Aside from sending teams of kung fu monks on international tours, Shi - who earned an MBA and is known as “the CEO monk” - has franchised a chain of Shaolin-run monasteries, licensed the Shaolin name to films and cartoon shows and gone into online sales.

CHATSUMAN KAPPEL SINGH: You will not forget that the Monks are also part of the larger population. When the larger population is being swept away by materialism and consumerism, the Monks who are not well practised, not [inaudible] in the Buddhist teaching, can also get swept away by materialism and by consumerism which is the strong characteristic of the modern age.

GEOFF THOMPSON: It’s been a particularly rough trough for Thailand’s Monks recently. Apart from Abbot Oneshy’s scandal, other Monks have been exposed for donning wigs and attending karaoke bars. Another Deputy Abbot was recorded engaging in phone sex with women. One has been accused of rape, another has been charged with drug dealing – another still with killing a woman and dumping her in a septic tank.

Professor Kappel Singh says the very existence of a Monkhood known here as the Sangha is under threat.

“Although it may have been officially proscribed, homosexuality in fact flourished in Buddhist monasteries throughout the centuries: In China the character for hemorrhoids is ‘temple illness’: male love is said to not have existed in Japan until it was introduced by Buddhist monks in the ninth century; homosexuality was prevalent in Yellow Hat monasteries in Tibet and was regarded as a virtue, since it meant that a monk had completely conquered sexual attachment to women.”
