Jetsun Posted February 4, 2014 I heard that many Koreans were converting from Buddhism to Christianity because they associate their new wealth and prosperity in their country with Christian-American influence, whereas Buddhism is associated with the time of weakness and poverty. Â Yeah, I think this can generally apply to the situation of Buddhism in Japan and South Korea. Although, in South Korea, there is still a sizeable population that adheres to Buddhism, but I heard over on dharmawheel, that there's a lot of interest in Theravada Buddhism, over the traditionally established schools such Seon aka. Ch'an.
