I guess this would would be in contrast to training with mindfulness to achieve non-fixation or non-attachment to the form, with perhaps either approach leading to the same place.

Not sure there’s really any contrast. I’m thinking there’s more to non attachment than just non attachment in a certain sense. From an absolute truth perspective form doesn’t exist. It’s an illusion, so everything dissolves to emptiness. It never even existed anywhere but in your mind in the first place. There’s just emptiness, the present, a pure clarity, and the yiddam qualities arising and dissolving. Everything else just falls by the wayside, and never happened.

I think really videos will only do so much.

You need in person, one on one demonstrations under controlled conditions.

You do make a legitimate point. As my argument went before though, what if energetic abilities go beyond just simple things like say taking your friends pain or tightness away by putting your hands on them, or making people feel a buzz in their hands or whatever mundane thing you might do… What if human potential goes beyond that level, however it may not be reproducible on command or could be very circumstance dependent? Or perhaps the concept of auspiciousness could be involved. That is hard to completely control and contain within a scientific experiment.

Like you don’t wanna be one of those people who are like “oh yeah my systems got all that siddhi stuff too!”

All of these people are training their ethereal body. The practices are not exclusive to any particular tradition and take years to develop, similar to bodybuilding in a gym.

    Bodies go like this.

Physical > Ethereal > Astral > Emotional Mental (Animal Mental) > Thoughts Body (Human Mental) > Spiritual Body (Mage Mental) > Causal Body (God Mental)
This can also be linked to seven chakras.

Siddhis are not "mystical" or "paranormal." Some people have trained physical bodies, and those who have exceptional genetics can do things most other living humans cannot. These skills or abilities are called "siddhis." The only problem, however, is that the further you go from the physical plane to a spiritual plane, the less it is possible to record or demonstrate.

To begin with, most people are only able to see a physical layer of reality and do not perceive directly in astral and mental fields.
It often becomes an internet circle-jerking activity where "practitioners" of a certain group believe that only "bodybuilding" is real, while meditation or astral projection is not.

That said, any person who works on himself in life and develops abilities and skills on any level instead of wasting time arguing online is doing a good thing for himself. There are clear benefits in each level development.

Okay Madame Blavasky. You like pontificating and you like platitudes, but what are you bringing to demonstrate? I don't get it?

At least others here brought something to put up. They were willing to post videos and put their balls on the table so to speak.

Going online for online discussion, but then acting like you're above it all and wouldn't waste your time with it when you could be doing productive things and bettering yourself in real life is  such a played out trope as well.

Probably a similar technique. Bagus the Leaf Man does Hindu practices so it doesn’t seem like something that’s just found in one religion.

The interesting thing is how the emission of qi is different. With Sheikh Muhammad it comes out of his fingers on command, but with Master Jiang Feng and Master Zhou they guide the qi up from their lower dantian and out through the arm to the hands.

So we got a dude tickling people, some old people over reacting for a camera, some magic tricks, and the same old lame martial arts demonstrations like using leverage tricks to break a brick or stone. It's just like, people aren't gonna go for that anymore, they never really did. What's the point of party tricks and magician stuff? You can just hear the thoughts already of "same old shit! same old shit!"

    Like oh my heart...my heart!

    Hallelujah! Hallejuhah!

Also any energy that can have any tangible effect would have to be instantaneous, whether from the dantien or whatever path. Cuz it would have to be coordinated with mind, intention, the Yi. At Yi level the energy is instantaneous whether for martial arts or otherwise.

  5. From what I understand in essence there is no difference. They are the same thing ultimately. Nothing anyone said about one couldn't also be said about the other.

Some people have called dzogchen the padmasambhava lineage, and mahamudra the tiliopa lineage.

There are certain specific practices that can be unique to certain school I believe.  Like 5 part mahamudra for example. You can also blend different aspects of your experience in meditation together, love and compassion, wisdom, emptiness, awareness etc.

Also you can view meditation in stages, like starting with resting mind and mindfulness, you can have mindful body practice, mindful emotion, mindful consciousness, mindful phenomena, then shamata, vipassana, and fiinally mahanudra/dzogchen

At the end they're both about you seeing your true real nature and true nature of reality. The empty and luminous nature, that there is no self, the mind seeing itself, and resting in the natural state of Rigpa, etc and profound deep stuff  like that that's hard to grasp or talk about in words and all that.

  6. For so many years, you see so many people just getting enamored with the latest spiritual trends, whatever is cool online, chasing the latest shiny object, getting sucked into lame or weird groups online or in real life, and it's just all so cringe. All the amateur hour bs out there is just ugh!

People talk big about Siddhis, spiritual power, energy, shakti this and reiki that. Well time to up your frickin' game people. Let's see it, step up to the plate. This is the new age of the internet. YouTube and internet is almost universal now.

Apparently in certain sports because tournament footage is being put up on YouTube instanty all the time, new strategies are developing faster and the sport is developing rapidly

So come on, don't sing it bring it. What are some Miracle powers or Siddhi's that are documented? Are there any? Who do you follow and what do they really have when it comes time to put up or shut up?

So who's a faker and magician? And who has legit Siddhis? No crap or anything that any trained magician could easily replicate. This is the 21st century, every 5 year old knows magicians aren't real, firewalking isnt a siddhi, and anyone can lay on a bed of nails.

I know I've heard scientists have studied Tibetan tummo under scientifically controlled conditions and it was proved to be real. That's probably why a lot of people respect and are interested in Tibetan buddhism.

But that doesn't necessarily mean we should absolutely only consider powers or abilities that are shown under absolute strict scientific conditions. That would be assuming all spiritual powers are repeatable at will, but what if they are dependent on circumstances or are extremely rare events not easily reproducible at will?

Many spiritual groups report a Guru predicting the day of their death and dying with their disciples as well. Most people will not consider that proof of spiritual power though.

Especially since religous and spiritual people talk willy nilly about things way crazier than tummo, like flying, appearing in multiple places at a time, turning a single meal into a feast, and raising the dead.

So let's see it. Let's see the proof your spirituality isn't all just in your head or a group delusion?

The first example I think of is Grandmaster, a real grandmaster, not a trendy internet Johnny come lately fad, but Grandmaster Yang Mei Jun,  the 27th inheritor of the Daoist and Buddhist Dayan Gong lineage. A man had been in a motorcycle accident and been in a coma for many weeks. The doctors at the hospital had determined the man to be brain dead and were going to move him to the morgue. As a last ditch effort Yang Mei Jun came to the hospital to treat him. During the treatment he was revived.

I don't know if there is video of the event, but there is photo documentation of the treatment here

Next we have a really crazy one. The Earthly spiritual Father, Father Yod, Father Yahowha, on video reviving a dead baby. Like ok, like there weren't scientists  monitoring it with instruments in a lab, but it's on video. I know an umbilical cord wrapped around a babies neck is a real thing that happens, and a real danger of not giving birth in a hospital. That baby really does look dead to me in the video. Perhaps I should add it's a pretty graphic scene if you're squeamish, but it's also black and white so not that bad. So read it and weep, can your teacher beat The Father? It's insane, that baby looks dead as a doorknob to me, then comes right to life,  and the dude's still alive and a healthy adult to this day!

Timestamp of the footage is at 42:30

I'm a bit hesitant but I'm going to include this. Some will probably scoff and laugh, call it the Buddhist stigmata. Like ok obviously stigmata is stupid, I remember hearing about that as a kid and just laughing that people would think it's not a hoax. But Phowa is a little bit different, it's commonly just accepted and repeatable by anyone with enough devotion, and it's based on actual meditation practice. Since ancient times people have long put kush grass on the hole that opened on their heads to demonstrate successfully launching their consciousness to a pure buddha realm. Stigmata seems much more like just a hoax perpetrated by lone hucksters or specific organizations with an agenda to trick people

So time to put up or shut up. Talk is cheap punk. Siddhis talk and bs walks. Pics or it didn't happen. Time for the fads and the bs to fade away.

  7. So something you hear a lot about these days, is that fewer people especially men, are having sex than ever before. It’s quite bizarre.

i remember about 10 years ago people would talk about the huge rates of “herbivore men” in Japan who never had sex, and you’d think that could never happen here.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-japan-herbivores-idUSTRE56Q0C220090727

It seems the phenomenon has come to the west now too though.

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.joe.ie/amp/life-style/amount-men-30-not-sex-nearly-tripled-past-decade-663846

    D205FUnU8AI6FyY.thumb.jpeg.e96436ef1efbedd623802149b32b818e.jpeg

People have tried to blame everything from tinder, to low t levels,  to porn, and the bitter and misogynistic have even tried to blame women.

I think only I have identified one crucial factor though. And that’s the maturity and development of the people’s personalities.

One thing that’s been universally observed by almost anyone I know of who pays attention to these things, is that guys who are good at the courtship process, who connect easily with women, or who understand how to communicate with the gender of their choice, always start off at a young age.

Think of the male gender for example, when two men communicate it’s almost always a logical discussion. They have no inborn desire to speak to each other in emotional terms cuz they never got any evolutionary advantage from it, so see no value in it. But when interacting with a woman in a romantic context, well that will usually require speaking on an emotional level. Women will often appreciate a man speaking in Emotional terms.

That requires a bit of effort and learning as it may not come naturally to a lot of dudes.

So think about it, who is the more socially, mentally, and emotionally developed person? The one who has been dating and had relationships since they were 15 or a 19 year old who has no experience? Let’s say they both are 20 and both have crushes on the same girl. Who’s gonna get her? the guy who has been dating and had relationships since he was 15 or the 20 year old virgin?

It’s obvious who’s gonna get the girl

No different than a pianist with 5 years experience playing in a concert against a total noob. It’s a no contest.

A lot of reports also say that in places where men are more timid or less experienced like Norway, Sweden etc. it’s easier for a man to convince a woman to cheat on a bf or leave a bf. It may very well be true.

So if you want to know why there are so many sexless adult men who as a result must be emotionally stunted, I think you gotta look at age of virginity stats.

It appears the trend has been going for a long time actually. Since at least 1991.

So it seems the logical conclusion is that in general, there's gonna be more awkward stunted guys and fewer confident naturals than ever before.

    Quote

"Percentages of high school students who reported ever having sexual intercourse range from 38% in ninth grade to 60.9% in 12th grade. This compares with the 1991 figures of 39% for grade 9 and 66.7% for grade 12, the CDC said.

The overall percentage of sexually experienced teenage males decreased from 57.4% in 1991 to 48.8% in 1997, CDC said, whereas sexually active females decreased from 50.8% to 47.7%.

The trend toward abstinence contrasts with the promiscuity of the 1970s and ‘80s, when sexual activity ballooned among teenagers, Kolbe said. Sexual activity among girls 15 to 19, for example, jumped from 29% in 1970 to 57% in 1988, according to previous studies."

    https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1998-sep-18-mn-24018-story.html

    So think about that.

According to the data, Prior to 1970 people were extremely repressed and underdeveloped socially and emotionally. Only 29% of people under 20 had lost their virginity. That’s seriously messed up

The  period from 1970 to 1988 saw unprecedented progression in human social development, where in only 2 decades rates of virginity loss for those under 20 shot up to 60-70 percent or more. A clear indication of a society wide advancement in social skills.

Think about Marty Mcfly in 1985 as compared to George Mcfly in 1955

There’s no comparison who was more mature and more developed as a person.

But since 1991 or so society has started to decline. Or regress. Virginity rates are going up. Social awkwardness is going up.

No one seems to know why.

Some people have suggested that prior to 1970 society was repressed by an imbalance of male power suppressing female power, resulting in a lot of social awkwardness and stunted development.

But then society advanced greatly, and virginity rates went way down through the 70s and 80s as society became less male dominated

But why did it regress again? Why have things gotten almost as bad today as pre 1970s

I found some research that kind of points towards that at least in dating, the context, the framing, the meaning attached to it, the purpose of it, has in fact now become too female dominated….

"Fewer than 40% of American high schoolers have ever had sexual intercourse, a decline of over 15 percentage points since the early 1990s. The historic drop is one of the findings in the 2019 iteration of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), a biannual survey administered by the CDC that tracks risky behaviors, including sexual intercourse, among America's high schoolers. Administered to high school students across the country since 1991, the YRBS offers one of the more detailed longitudinal views of the state of high school sexual activity.

What this year's report shows is yet another drop in that activity, consistent with the more or less continuous trend since 1991. Closer examination reveals that most teens are having less sex and delaying sex longer, and that sexually-active teens have fewer lifetime sexual partners. That confirms other data indicating that American teenagers are far more risk averse than their parents, challenging the popular media representation of an increasingly sexualized adolescent life.

In 2019, some 38.4% of high schoolers reported that they had ever had sex, down from 39.5% in 2017, 46% in 2009, and 54% in 1991. (The YRBS only tracks frequency of "sexual intercourse" and does not ask about other sex-related but non-intercourse activities.)

Boys were slightly more likely (39.2%) than girls (37.6%) to self-report having had sex, a disparity that appears across most surveys and likely represents response bias. Just 27.4% of teens were currently sexually active, a decline from 28.7% a year ago, 34.2% a decade ago, and 37.5% in 1991.

Not only are high schoolers having less sex; they are having it, on average, later and later. That's reflected in grade-level data, which show the largest declines in ever having had sexual intercourse among ninth graders, down a full 20 percentage points since 1991. Twelfth graders, by contrast, have only fallen by 10 percentage points—a disparity that suggests that some rising high schoolers "catch up" to their '90s peers later on.[\quote]

    https://www.washington.edu/news/2002/05/02/number-of-teens-primarily-boys-having-sex-declined-in-90s-as-adolescent-girls-lead-way-in-redefining-relationships/

    🤔

So the question is what can be done?

When I think of Marty vs. George Mcfly, Marty’s idea was to teach George to be a cooler guy. Sort like deliberate learning, rather then Marty who naturally “had it”

Or I was watching discovery channel or something like that, and there was a show called “Orangutan School”. It was about Orangutan orphans who had lost their mothers.

The Orangutans couldn’t live in the wild on their own, they didn’t know how so had to be rescued by humans. But the humans eventually wanted to release the Orangutans back into the wild. But the Orangutans had to first be taught how to survive before they could be released. They had to be rehabbed and taught by humans what they didn’t learn naturally in the jungle.

Could be the future for humans too, not so different from Orangutans

"What did change in the 1990s was the context for high school sex. The authors write, “our best informed guess is that the cultural norms for girls’ sexuality have dramatically changed. Girls are now presumed sexually active inside, but not outside, romantic relationships. Boys are therefore now much more likely to begin their sexual lives with a girlfriend.”

This contrasts with pre-sexual revolution times when boys had their initial sexual encounter with so-called “bad” girls or “sluts” who were outside their social circle.

“Girls are not having less sex today, but they are insisting that they have it in a relationship,” said Schwartz. “However, the definition of a relationship has changed. This drives parents crazy because a boyfriend can be like the flavor of the month rather than going with a guy for two years.

“A girl today might be called a ‘slut’ because she had sex outside a relationship, not because of the number of partners she had. Boys have to conform to this social context. A boy can’t play around and have a girlfriend. His girlfriend may not be ready for sex so the boy delays his sexual activity or leaves the relationship.”"

  8. Nowadays people usually call Taoist exercises daoyin or qigong, it's just that in the past like in the 1970s no one knew what qigong was so they just called it "taoist yoga" cuz a few westerners such as hippies and the like were familiar with yoga.

If men could fuck in a cardboard box, we wouldn't build houses 😂👍😉

In fact you dont need a house to fuck,  you can play on the fantasy of doing it outdoors, where you might get caught, a fantasy location, beach at night, park bushes, etc

Here is a classic 80s song of fundamental truth

ALL of that was basically healed by the time this energy stuff happened. i am not " confused" about the timeline of my own life

    Huh, you wrote that article?

you’re apparently also confused, cuz earlier you were elated that article was the only thing you’ve read that was similar to what you believed you experienced

But the guy that wrote that article is obviously just mentally ill and messed up from anti psychotic drugs

@cloud444, @freeform's advice is to return to being a normal person first, stay away from all these stuff.   Then I wonder if you ever have a "normal" life or it is too long away that you cannot remember.  So it takes quite some time before you can figure out how to do it.

So I propose let your body "kill" itself as in your title, by a simple method.  You just sleep more, more and more.  There would be no music, no meditation, no attention to breathing, no sleeping cultivation.  Just simple sleeping.   If you can't fall into sleep, never mind.  Just carry on.  It is the most painless way to quiet down all running wide processes, replenish your Jing.    Many people suffered from big problems find relief by this method.  Good luck.

    https://realization.org/p/a-d/when-kundalini-breaks-the-last-block.html

    That guy seems very confused.

He mentions he took powerful anti psychotic drugs which is pretty messed up in itself and probably gonna permanently screw up your energy and body anyways

A lot of the things he seems to think are a mysterious “kundalini” force in his body are likely things caused by the drugs he took, or symptoms of mental illness.

He seems to think the symptoms started before he took the drugs, but he’s likely confused about the timeline.

  12. What do you mean?

The human body is extremely precious, and likely the highest form of concentrated energy in existence in this material universe.

It's also impermanent and everybody has to accept they will give it up sooner or later

The guy literally said his dick didn’t work. That’s game over. That’s not celibacy that’s a defect or indicative of death. It’s counter to life. The opposite of life.

You could say death is an illusion, but it still exists on this plane here and now

  13. Yeah but they had very specific practices and paths

Probably mass amounts of meditation, love and bliss meditations, insane amounts of qigong or yoga, etc.

Otherwise that would be very unnatural and break a person's will and motivation, or turn them into a rapist or child molester or things like that.

People call any movement of Qi ‘kundalini’.

Your spine and the channels around your spine are responsible for moving and even generating Yang Qi. And kundalini is said to go up the spine - so people draw parallels.

Yang Qi in this case interacts directly with your nervous system. Which is what causes sensations, spasms, even issues involving your adrenals - and the myriad other possible positive and negative effects.

Its not kundalini - it’s qi or prana.

Kundalini works at a deeper level than the nervous system.

But whatever you call it, it’s not too important… ‘kundalini’, ‘Yang Qi, ‘prana’… it doesn’t matter.

As long as you’re focused on it… fighting it… keeping it down… raising it up… controlling it in some way - you’re causing yourself more and more trouble.

Any qi divination has to start with moving the awareness away from that aspect of the self.

You don’t fight it, or try to ignore it… you simply put your awareness on something other than that.

It doesn’t matter if you still feel or experience it. Your awareness needs to be fully and honestly directed away from it… on something external… let it carry on happening in the background, that’s fine - but stop paying it any more attention than to the rest of what is available to your awareness. That’s why walks, time with friends, activities with dexterity or hand-eye coordination are good - because these are great things that will naturally pull on your attention and have you focusing and becoming absorbed by something else for a long enough time.

Particularly time with friends, other people will help with a change in mental habit. Moving the mind away from the same broken record of pain, fear, fear of pain, fear of fear, self victimisation… self isolation… self aggrandisation etc…

The mind needs to get back to relative normality - and that can only happen with the help of other people, relationships and healthy habits.

The second part is getting the body back into homeostasis.

With most of these ‘kundalini syndromes’ (aka qi deviations) the main problem is ‘heating an empty pot’.

Ever walked away from a boiling soup and came back only to find everything has been evaporated and all you’re left with is a horrible burnt, smoking mess?

Well that’s what’s happening in the body… the Yin of the body has been cooked away into nothing by the Yang… But the Yang now rages even harder as there is no Yin to balance it out… but it rages harder even though it doesn’t have access to fuel (which is also Yin.) So it starts to burn up whatever it can - including nerves, bones, marrow etc etc etc.

Yang rises (especially when there’s no Yin to anchor it down)… it goes to your heart and your head… it creates problems with emotions - basically fuelling any emotional movement… it starts to distort mental processes. The result is a mixture of mania and lots of delusions, non-stop, psychotic-like thinking etc.

Thats why both the mind and the body need some help.

To get the body back into homeostasis we need to take a long road of replenishing Yin… which means a constant diet of very simple nourishing foods… like what a pregnant lady 200 years ago might have eaten during winter.

The other part is getting the body processes back into a natural rhythm… waking at the same time EVERY day… going outside (rain or shine) at the same time every day… eating… going to bed… exercising - all at the same time every day.

This isn’t about living a rich life of spontaneous creativity… this is about repairing a severely out of whack system.

So my recommendation to Cloud (and others in a similar situation) isn’t just made up by me coz it sounds sensible.

It’s a literal prescription - every part of it has to be done - and one has to keep doing it non stop… often for many years!

To get some relief doesn’t take that long… but relief is not cure. It’s a long road - for serious cases like this, I would say you need to live this way for a minimum of 3 years - and then see.

Of course medical expertise is important too.

If you have access to a good Chinese medicine practitioner - that’s even better.

If you have a therapist or body worker - and they fully understand the direction you’re trying to move in… then that’s also great.

But in reality it’s the consistent and diligent application of lifestyle changes that will make the biggest difference in this sort of thing.

    Lol yeah

For all the talk of wacky things like "kundalini syndrome"

    "Kundalini side effects"

"The 49 levels of super duper kundalini awakening "

    And other stupidity....

It seems like on all the descriptions you ever see out there of what the supposed symptoms or signs of kundalini awakening are, most of them are what are actually called "qi deviations" or what is called "qigong sickness" which is simply caused by improper practice or systems with bad methods or incorrect theory.

  15. I'm just so drawn to the practices like the ones on this video though, like to develop the life energy, especially in the morning to carry through the rest of the day, and whole life.

I dont know why but I cant shake my desire to know these practices, I'm inexplicably drawn to this Yoga, like theres a deep desire in me to know this type of practice, cant even really explain why.

I think just based on my previous background, like in other non Buddhist meditation and qigong systems, these practices seem to ring as true, authentic, and powerful to me,  but it's also strangely coming from deep within me. It's weird.
