  7. Help me create my own religion.

You might like this book: https://www.amazon.com/Christ-Eternal-Tao-Hieromonk-Damascene/dp/1887904239 I can't really vouch for anything in there, but it looks like it might be relevant to you. I've visited the monastery in northern California that the author is the abbot of, and I can say that those monks are true Christian mystics. My two cents is just that if your trying to create a system for others to follow attainment should come first. Nothing wrong with hashing out a syncretic system of symbolism to view the universe through that you can share with friends and people on Daobums and the like, but I think setting up a group or a congregation for others to follow is something that comes when you've proven the efficacy of that philosophy by becoming a remarkable person through it. And I'm not saying you aren't a remarkable person, bro! Anyone sincerely following the path fucking rocks in my book. But straight up setting up a formal congregation sounds like a way to invite all kinds of drama and take time away from cultivation. Fleshing something out, a set of symbols to merge the two together or something like that, just on here or in your own life, etc. I think is awesome, though. Just my opinion, though. Do your thing. By the way, have you tried praying the Rosary? It's actually a very powerful practice and liturgical Latin has only been used for spiritual things for the last 1500 years or so, so the words have a great energy attached to them.
  8. Book to learn chiqong ? Begginer

http://www.drbaolinwu.com/9palaces.htm Baolin Wu's book on the 9 Palaces Qigong of the Longmen lineage is easily one of the best techniques that I've seen in print: http://www.amazon.com/Gong-Total-Wellness-Longevity-Monastery/dp/0312262337 A highly valuable book, definitely check it out. This is great by itself and a great aid to any other qigong you may be practicing.
  9. Orthodox Christian monasticism is a very real deal path. It's a mystery school. My mother is Orthodox and I've stayed overnight in their monasteries and been around the Orthodox world quite a bit. A lot of the monastics have attained high states. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet with Elder Paisios of St. Anthony's in Arizona, and let me tell you, that man radiates. I could feel the Qi just pouring off of him and everything about his nature seemed 100% relaxed. These guys are for real. While I was at one of the monasteries, I was looking through a book that had a photo of a monk on Mt. Athos who was completely see-through, as if he had attained the body of light, like multiarms mentioned. Like everything else, though, if you really want to learn their system you need to learn it from a legitimate source, preferably a senior monastic. Unlike some other systems, however, you absolutely have to be a Christian. The religion and the mystical techniques are inseperable.
  10. Hello all :)

Pleased to meet you. I'm a semi long time lurker here but have found a thread that I'd like to post in. I'm a former Marine and served in the Iraq war. When I got out I was a mess, had nightmares, was drinking quite a bit, etc. I spent about a year and a half spiralling down before I realized that I needed to make a change. I began meditation 4 years ago and it has one hundred percent turned my life around, a permanent reward for a temporary effort. Thank you for taking the time to read this, may you find whatever it is that you're searching for.
