There are tests but they are different for different traditions . If one doesn't know what they are and does 'choose' I don't think it would be based on guess work but probably subtle conditioning and hopes and ideals . So here is a danger of moving towards something we are unconsciously attracted to .... perhaps in a good way or perhaps in an adverse way . Will a 'master' support or challenge my 'inner convictions' might be a question the unconscious poses . The unconscious ego might reject a teacher that it feels threatened by and thinks the teacher might expose it . Or a glimmer of 'pre-enlightment ' or super-conscious might lead you to the teacher that is just what you need to evolve at the present time ... although outwardly seeming not to be suitable . I am assuming 'testing for mastery' is about finding a teacher ... otherwise why do it ? The thing is, I feel , if you are 'on the path' and have 'some work behind you ' ( through this or past incarnations ) it will all 'unfold' for you . The 'right ' teacher should appear ... either to help you or 'teach you harsh lessons ' . of the second type I would say ; there is no need to learn all the harsh lessons and lessons of failure yourself ... a lot of that can be done by observing others .

I don't see why not . Its an age old tradition with many benefits . It Isnt the same as 'going walkabout' though . But even if there is no spiritual connection , it can be an amazing experience ... my friends son walked from the top of Turkey to Egypt ( in the past and in much more settled times ..... he was ex-military though - very fit and resourceful ) .

and the worst part is , I have to explain why ! ...... God evolved on the Earth as a formally mortal species and then created the world and life ?

I cant agree with that .... I have gone further than some of my teachers . That's one indication of how I got further from them . I was learning stuff from them, I learnt it , it was good, I still have it . But then one day he ; " The solution to that problem is to drop a nuke on them and wipe them all out ! " Goodbye ... I got the gold you had to offer . I don't need the dross . But then again my traditions and teachers have been varied - 'eclectic' . I don't need to rely on 1 .

That seems to represent their accomplishment . The Bah'i 'prophet' Baha'u'llah had to be moved from jail to jail ... and they were very nasty places back in those times , plus remembering that it was a Islamic 'sharia law' jail and he was considered an heretic, religious impostor , fake Mahdi ... etc etc . Eventually they all got 'lax' or a bit more accepting and let him out to wander around the grounds and then the general area . Interesting dynamics as to why but another story . Eventually a land grant was given to them at Haifa to establish their world HQ

kami dogs .... ughhhh ! You ( HKDevotees - the ones with the shaved head , little tail at the back , beads robes ... those ones (initiated or whatever the correct term is ) keep the temple hos it should be ... but what also 'should be ' is an invitation to the local or any populace that are not shaved and beaded ( HK devotee - officially ) Ie. asat-sanga to come and hear and eat . from one perspective it is allowing , well anything and any unclean psychic or even demonic energy people carry into your sacred temple !
