Btw, I recently bought some all beef dogs thinking they would have less additives but after eating several I later read the label fine print noting sodium nitrate was added, which normally I never buy anything that has that in it since its supposedly a cancer causing agent! old3bob Posted 1 hour ago (edited) wonder what frame and engine it has underneath the dog, AI might know...(this is a nutty thread) Yep it did: The modern Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is powered by a 6.0-liter General Motors (GM) Vortec V8 engine. This engine is generally found on a Chevy or Isuzu NPR truck chassis, providing approximately 300 horsepower to move the 14,000-pound fiberglass hot dog. (yikes) and that is just what they are admitting to ! What else could be in there ? 3. Physical Foreign Matter and Contaminants Recalls and tests have identified several foreign materials inside hot dogs: Bone and Cartilage: Multiple recalls have occurred due to bone fragments in hot dogs. Metal and Plastic: Fragments of metal and clear, white plastic have been found. Insect Larvae: Reports have indicated the presence of insect larvae. Other Objects: Rubber bands and unidentified animal parts. 4. Unlabeled Fillers and Additives Mechanically Separated Meat: Known as "pink slime" or "white slime," this is a paste-like mixture created by forcing bones with remaining flesh through a sieve. Fillers: Soy protein concentrate, starch (corn or potato), and milk powder. Undisclosed Allergens: Hydrolyzed soy protein or soy lecithin not mentioned on the label - dont worry about 1 and 2 (missing ) they were just other meats like buffalo and horse and human DNA .
