There’s no need to apologize but I think that people who read the threads benefit from being able to follow the conversation.  If you delete posts it makes it very hard to follow what’s going on and also less interesting/ enjoyable.  Perhaps if you post something and later change your mind, you could self quote the post and make a comment/ correction.
