Greetings! Complete beginner here

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Nice to greet you all, I am very excited to be apart of this community. I've ended up here after being a fan of cultivation manhuas and donghuas for a while now. I found out that some of the concepts, sistems and traditions explained in those cultivation stories are actually inspired from reality, which was a mind blowing discovery for me. That being said I would also like to start being a practitioner to improve my well being and discover new dimensions of this life that so far I've been ignorant about.

I would really appreciate some advice on how to get started, maybe a course or something, like I said I'm a complete beginner.

This short essay, internal arts: common fundamentals, gives a brief introduction to bedrock principles common to (nearly) any system.

Then follow your own sensitivities, to whichever system/methods resonate for you.

You're all set up here at TDBs.

Again, welcome.

  Looked it up: It’s art that focuses on characters who engage in cultivation.

manhua 漫 畫 (man4 hua4) comic [manga]; 漫 unrestrained, 畫 drawing

donghua 動 畫 (dong4 hua4) animation; 動 moving, 畫 drawing

I have a follow up question after looking through the forum, my financials are not great because i live in Romania and the salary is rather low. I see that https://authenticneigong.com/  course costs 400 pounds for the lvl 1 group course with additional 50 dollars montly fees to have access to the discord and following levels, while the dvd for Master Jenny Lamb is only 45 dollars. Would any senior be kind enough to provide some insight on what path I should walk on, and what are the differences between the two, or if you have some other recommendation. The only thing holding me back is money, anything over 200 euro is a bit much for me, that is my budget for now.

Well one of them is just a DVD and the other is online classes where you can talk to the teacher directly.

There are a few Romanians in Authentic Neigong, I was also living in Bucharest when I started learning it too! If you are very serious about learning and are unable to pay the full price at the moment, the teacher Rudi might be able to give a discount or work something out.

Check out this thread if you want to hear reviews students:

A number of essential foundational practices you can find for free:

0. “Following the Breath”

- unifying comfortably deep breathing and attention

- this gets applied to *every*thing, *all* internal arts practices

- foundational: sitting meditation, and still standing (see next)

1. zhan zhuang, aka “standing post”, aka “still standing”

- look it up.  it sound like nothing (just standing), but it is foundational in every Daoist system.  Super simple.  Essential.

There are foundational essentials around that are absolutely free .. that any more sophisticated system would assume that you have experience with anyway.

best of luck,

Trunk

p.s.

I'd say, additionally, that ... the long haul ... the people that enjoy and stick with this, and what provides and leads to development over time ... is that you simply enjoy the process of conscious integration.
