On sound, and the nature of reality

Recommended Posts

it is not what goes in (the mouth), but what comes out that defiles you.

Matthew 15:11.

(I think what comes in is important to, but that’s beside the point)

So, sometimes I wished I had a dictionary when talking to wise men. I said those words to a teacher of mine. Later that day, I opened up google. I don’t even recall what I searched for, but at the top, there was a file full of different mystics (Meister Eckhart being the only I recall from the top for my head) with quotes along the lines of «everything is sound».

Personally, I engange in kirtan, the Hare Krishna mantra and the like, but I am sure there is no lack of powerful frequencies out there. One devotee told me how it was very clear that, when he started chanting the holy name, he got faced with a mirror of himself: that is, the external world sort of became a reflection or him.

«Very interesting you mentioned that,» I said, «because I to felt very clearly that I was faced with aspects of myself that was not very beautiful». He smiled. The heart has to be cleansed first, and I guess it is a tiny bit softer now, as the world appears far more beautiful.

Every individual is just a reflection of you

Now a days they are teaching me the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit. What a wonderful tongue.

One thing that has kind of confused me growing up, is how we are able to communicate trough these computers and phones and radios of ours. I’ve always known that it is some kind of waves. Sounds kinda like magic to me.

At times I’ve just pushed the whole issue to the side tho, as I would assume that the people working on these devices knows what’s going on. My family of origin as well as the extended one, is full of very intelligent and technical minded people with relevant education. So I asked them.

«Waves» they said.

«Frequencies?»

«Yes»

So yeah, seems like it kinda runs on vibes. Sort of how the shepherded in Coelhos alchemist talks about being in tune with the sheep. Or Robert Sheldrakes concept of morphic ressonance. According to qauntum physics, it is all just waves, until an observer appear, is it not? That’s kinda what eyes do as well, no, reflect light?

So, to end this little brain fart, I would, in addition to hearing your thoughts on the matter, offer a piece of advice:

1. be mindful of what music you listen to

I am not Muslim. Or maybe I am, as I accept that God (and all) is one. And their prayer calls are kind of beautiful. Also sheds some light on why certain kind of music is banned in some schools of Islamic thoughts.
