A lot of 'Bible stuff' was lifted from various phases in Mesopotamia - generally from early times ... admitting where Abraham himself actually came from. And later times after the release from captivity ( in Mesopotamia when the modern form of the Hebrew Bible began to be composed , and the concept of 'one true God only - especially in the temple at Jerusalem - was started by Josiah 648 - 649 bc . before that it (and inside the temple ) was pretty much 'general Canaanite' , and very similar to Mesopotamian religions .
