Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you,

Yeah sure.

I'm an athlete, looking to improve my health and performance.

I started a Qigong practice called the Healing workout by Dr Alan Jerry Johnson, and have started to see some benefits.

I am now interested in learning more about Qigong.

I did that practice for awhile when I started energy work and got interested in JAJ's healing training.  A group of us would get together to practice the tape (back when these were tapes and not DVDs, lol). It was very energizing.

Curious what benefits you're noticing...

It's not chi gung but I think the Wim Hof Method could be helpful for athletes.  It involves deep rapid breathing, long retentions, cold showers.. it a mind body hack that helps develop mental and physical toughness.  ..it helped Wim Hof jog around Mount Everest in shorts and run a desert marathon without water and me to offer to my coat to a cold woman when it was in the 40s.

Its easily found on the net, and there are a couple of threads on it.

Thank you thelerner, I will check it out.

As for the benefits, I am experiencing, they are mostly during the practice.

I can start to feel the different organs being energized.

My breathing slows down, and I start to feel quite relaxed.

There is also a slight breeze on my hands that has developped over time. It is quite refreshing. I think there was someone that mention something similar in an other thread.

I mainly started the practice after hearing that it could accelerate strength gains in the gym. I have yet to start working out, but when I do, I’ll be able to verify those claims.
