Mourning The Future Death of the Universe

Recommended Posts

Sounds like a plan to me!

I don't even try to make plans for that far into the future.

I can't even get 50% accuracy on my plans for my tomorrow.

Interesting thread!

Our Sun.... by best guesstimates... is approximately 4- 4 1/2

billion years old. It's what you would call mid life stage

where it is presently brightening.

Unless there is a critical imbalance within our Sun

(making it use its hydrogen fuel faster than it should),

Or worst case scenario...something like a huge solar flare directed at earth.

we have on the order of 4-5 billion years before it's "expected" demise.

Of course it would start with the expansion into a red giant taking up the

orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

Our only hope of a future "human " race is our striving to leave this cradle we have confined ourselves to by our inability to work together, and our continual greed for all

things "more".

Interesting fact: How long does it take for light from the Sun to reach Earth?

The sun is 93,000,000 miles away, the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second.

At that speed, light from the suns surface, reaches us in 8.3333333333 minutes.

Yes, it is an interesting thread.

Actually, I think the remaining time for life on Earth is only 2.5 billion years.

I am old enough so that I don't have to worry about that but I know that some of y'all keep having reincarnated lives so y'all might have to worry about it.

stingy!... haha, i can 'forsee' you being reincarnated as a flea! see the look on your face, while you let a 'Darn!' out your sucking pipe, then jump away merrily to the nearest furry animal (which may happen to be some bikini, haha)

btw, i 'believe' there maybe live animals living in outerspace, evolving in that environment. gosh, too much sciencefiction!

I used to smoke pipe. Mostly Cherry Blend tobacco.

We won't talk about how many bikinis I have sniffed.

Fleas have a pretty good life, all things considered.

And they are pretty good at reducing the human population on this planet.

I doubt in 'outer space' but within other solar systems? Sure. The probabilities are great.
