Taoism Today -- The Controversy Continues

Recommended Posts

Well, just for fun let's look at some of the questions in the opening post:

( I will post "my" answer after each question.)

Is Taoism the rituals, diety worship and spiritism of the Zhenyi sect?

No. It is the philosophy.

Is it the asceticism and cultivation of the Quanzhen sect?

No. It is the philosophy.

Is it the mountain hermit tradition of Hua Shan?

No. It is the philosophy.

Is it the kungfu of Wudangshan?

No. It is the philosophy.

Is it a religion that has philosophical tenets?

Yes, it can also be that.

Is it a philosophy that has become a religion?

Yes, but it is still a philosophy without the religious attachments.

I can be accomodating with my first four answers. Hehehe.
