  1. World experiences are based on the 6 senses, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. Since those are impermanent, meaning change, formed due to conditions that lead to its creation, they are subject to change. This means that all perception of so-called reality, be it a personal one or mass one, is illusory. That means it is based on one's mind and perspective.

The so-called reality of "things" is neither a real "thing" nor a fake one only because of the mind. Therefore, to know "true" reality is to see without seeing: basically non-discrimination. The universe is unbiased. That one true state of reality is without the discriminating mind's action of pointing out what is what and what isn't.

  2. Greetings All,

I would like to know if anyone is planning a trip to Shandong province, Tai Shan (Tai Mountain). Since I am now living back in the states, I won't be visiting my Shifu at the Wang Mu Chi Daoist nunnery in Ta'An city, at Hu Shan Gong Yuan (Tiger Mountain Park).

Anywho, if anyone is, will be, going there to Tai Mountain, please let me know. I would like to send a letter to my Shifu. I can't send her a snail mail letter because I don't have a phone number for China Post to call, thus can't mail.

So, let me know: [email protected]

It would be very appreciated if someone can help me contact my teacher out there.

Thank you so, so , so much!

    Peace and Blessings,

     Lin

  3. Greetings Every One!

I have been off the forum for quite a while now. Lecturing in China for a few years has come to an end, and now I am back in the states. Starting over in Pennsylvania, Milford. This January I have re-opened my cultivation school, and have classes in full force.

Last year I have placed all my practices into two systems White Canopy Platform Cultivation, and Imperial Zong Huan. For a description of both, please visit Gui Zhen Society

I hope every one is doing well.

    Peace and Blessings,

    Lin

  4. Gui Zhen Society in Staten Island NY.

    Hi Every One!

I'm Lin, been on the Dao Bums for ages now, and recently moved back to the U.S. from China.

I re-established my cultivation school in Staten Island and am offering a number of cultivation methods I have been putting together over the last several years.

One of them is called White Canopy Meditation, a.k.a. Jiu Wu Tan Gong (Nine Five Platform Cultivation). Its quite a lengthy description, so I wil leave a short one here and link you to my personal practice page for the full idea:

White Canopy Platform Cultivation is a method of meditation which utilizes mantra, mudras, and various moving and static postures to strengthen the mind and body, so that the practitioner can assume deep states of concentration. With the development of concentration, the practitioner can achieve Samadhi (deep concentration), and eventually be led to awaken to their inherent wisdom.

     White Canopy Description

Also new to the martial arts world, as well as to the Qigong, meditation, etc world, my own expression of both spiritual cultivaton and martial art , Origin and Illusion (Zong Huan).

Created by Lin Ai Wei, Zong Huan is a name pointing to the "1" and the "0". Zong would contextually point to the original, the main; where all things come from, a place, or person. Every word in Chinese is contextual, thus the literal and contextual meaning may be a bit different.

    Origin and Illusion: Zong Huan

    Peace and Blessings,

    Lin Ai Wei

  5. hey, i can't help you there, sorry. i used to see a teacher that lived in huzhou 2 hours away from shanghai, but hes moved to zhuhai now.

Yup! And you have come a long way in only almost 2yrs now.

Anywho, I am in Zhuhai now. If anyone is interested in stuff, let me know. :)

  6. Mind is just a concept, said just fr the sake of allowing the said "one" to investigate "itself". There is not a separate consciousness outside of what is called the mind. Though each vibration of a "mind" or person variates, the actual substance, or nature, of what is said ot be living beings is the same. Sometimes the thoughts cloud over various "areas" more so for some than others.

It is simply just a concept, and in itself is empty.

  7. Welcome to Gui Zhen Martial Art's Chen Style 83 form Intensive.

This workshop will cover as much as possible in terms of form and basic real time martial application: which simply means a very simple approach to using the techniques.

It will be a two day, 8 hour workshop, and will consist of hard work, and no rest time. the 83 form is intense, and requires a lot of patience and physical training.

We will begin with Zhan Zhuang: Standing Practice. Then move to basic stance training, and muscle development. Finally getting to the form, and martial applications, as well as some basic Push Hands. Low stances are ideal, but given any physical conditions, one can use a middle to higher basin for stance work. It is a beauty of Taiji Quan, that it can be cultivated with any physical/medical condition.

Location is still not decided, Staten Island or Brooklyn, but I believe Brooklyn may be most convenient for many. So when I have a place, we will have it posted!

May be outside, or inside. Depends on what kind of space we can utilize indoors. Outside is much more preferable , for you can really get into some deep stances, and soak up the space around you.

The 2day, 8hr Workshop fee will be on a sliding scale of $150-$200. Red envelope preferred instead of cash in hand.

Weekend of July 19 and 20th.

Morning practice from 8-12 both days.

You are welcomed to video record the workshop for your own study purposes.

leave me a PM if interested.

  8. These Skandha Demon States talks have been helping me allot...

Its so powerful, to get a grasp on the subtle and not so subtle states we go through and start to perceive what is and is not true for us...or even us.

I am so glad they are beneficial for you. As a cultivator, it is imperative to be aware, and understand what is going on in the mind. If not, one would be cultivating in vain regardless of what power they think they have or will gain.

There is no power more proper than that of realizing one's own wisdom; in that there is no greater ability "gained" than that of being free from all karmic debt.

  10. Interesting concept here, because it reflects the common idea that Daoism was made by Lao zi and Chuang zi, and that all of Daoism revolves around them. This common belief is indeed a falsity, and simply shows the commercialism involved within Daoism and cultivation generally.

As well, it shines the mirror on common ideas that Daoism is simply just following the so called ways of nature, when I personally have never once heard anyone, anywhere, in Daoism, lay out any type of "ways" of nature. Especially when talking about the "will of heaven", which no one seems to be able to state from which heaven they are following the will of.

Regardless if one knows a truth of anything or not, a teacher helps one to refine their practice by assisting the student/cultivator in adjusting their views, and helping to change their habits as well as guide in practice how they apply their attitude and behavior.

So, the bringing up of this "problem" is still void of any true point because the views about Daoism are flawed.

    Peace,

    Lin
