I think that this post is an excellent point about incorrect practice especially as it relates to western students When "everything is perfect" is taken on faith rather than a culmination of practice, it creates a sort of deluded toxic positivity mindset where people can actually start to feel guilt from the fact that they experience suffering Realizing the ground nature of reality is inherently without flaw (eventually) is a pretty common stage in most religions, but as most intellectualized reports of stages of practice, it can super easily taken the wrong way if it gets cargo cult'd

Ai is a powerful tool, it can definitely help with info gathering as long as you check the original sources and translations of materials They are however biased towards not saying "I don't know" or "I cant help you with that", which creates an increase in the rate of what are known as hallucinations when dealing with complex topics. It's important to recognize the things that AI is really good at and the things AI is really bad at to use it effectively You also have to keep in mind the llm's training data influences what it can accurately discuss, while it can talk about the physical sciences to a very advanced degree as it was fed with thousands of textbooks on every topic you can think of regarding them, the data given about neidan would be extremely small if there were even any neidan texts included in the training data at all So its more like asking a random person online what they think neidan is, they'd probably google it and tell you the stages and some of the basic popular techniques that are often discussed, which is all the AI assistant is doing I do think that non-llm ai technology has promise in furthering the understanding of neidan though, only a fraction of the taoist canon has been translated into western languages, ai translations are at least marginally better than the old google translate method as long as you watch out for hallucinations Fabrizio Pregadio's translations are a pretty good place to start understanding neidan, he's one of the only authors i've come across that understands the coded language (albeit partially) There are some misunderstandings above like yuan jing isn't cells, it wouldn't even necessarily have a physical counterpart like its post-heaven version but I think its better to direct to the proper resources than discuss everything here at length

Personal Practice Discussion Thread Request
cake1234566 replied to Henchman21's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Hello I would like to request a ppd please, thanks! -
I practiced multiple systems for a number of years, i dont recommend it not for energetic reasons but because system hopping makes you miss the point Once you get some experience you'll realize how silly it is to collect rigid intellectual structures to realize the formless
-
Again i dont suggest actually practicing it, but if you insist i hope that the exposure to these different systems helps you find a reputable system to stick with I dont want lmp to become any sort of mopai urban legend where because it isnt taught it seems more grand than it is lmp isnt taught anymore because it isnt effective lol

I realized that my last post didn't really answer OP's question so I'll post about it in more detail: Note that this isn't a recommendation to practice this but more of an interesting record of a system that was practiced by a lot of people at one point or another The system did indeed produce very fast results because it focused on the qihai in many techniques which creates the feeling of qi very early without the actual internal development, I've omitted most of that here because it depletes the body If you're really interested in lmp then here's how you can practice the same thing, safely The system started with Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming's embryonic breathing to form the ldt, that's followed by a really unsafe ritual type of thing to get energy from the sun that was taken from a mid 2000s magick forum, Nathan Brine has some good Longmen pore breathing techniques in his books that id recommend doing instead Then, breathe yang from the sky through the qihai, and yin from the earth through the huiyin and place yi in the ldt while they interact The theory being once the jing field would swell, it'd activate the mingmen and girdle vessel automatically Back to Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming to learn the mco, there were a few mudras but the only working one was the hands together to assist the mco as in Flying the Golden Crystals Behind the Elbows through Nathan Brine's writings on Longmen You'd then visualize an orb sitting atop your head a few inches up connected to the baihui which i think was some sort of misunderstanding about the birth of yang shen, there's adjacent material in jerry alan johnsons work and you can find deeper material in Vajrayana To close sessions there was zero xing to bathe and cleanse which was a really bad idea, you'd just kinda stop and keep the yi on your ldt Further levels had you connect to his energetic constructs to progress, every single member that attempted the higher levels reported feeling drained and some reported symptoms of psychosis so I won't even discuss that stuff here As for magick, once you progress in a real system and get the flow going up and down the central channel that stuff becomes unavoidable, I wouldn't really recommend getting into it before then but if you do then stick to stuff written before the 1800s and groups that have a history going back at least 100 years That'll get you past a lot of the disinfo flood You should be extremely skeptical if someone claims to have mastered both neidan and western magick because each takes an entire lifetime of practice, the area is extremely ripe with cults and megalomaniacs that will happily claim to know everything

he did in fact claim to be able to levitate, walk on water, alter his weight at will, kill people with his energy powers, time travel, and bring souls back from the underworld

former student for many years who practiced the full system, it was just techs taken from the daobums classics list so ymaa, damo mitchell, jaj, the bliss of inner fire etc then the magick stuff was just pure new age + some bardon and crowley under a mainstream lhp context anything he tried to make himself outside of that just straight up didnt work i spent many hours finding all of he places he took the techs that worked from please find a reputable teacher, any reputable teacher and stay far away from this mess edit: also he is not dead he posts ai art and ominous messages on his site then deletes them every now and then
