  1. Yin/Yang . . . Feminine and Masculine (?)

Good point. That is why I said "some people need" Getting back to topic I must say that I have seen [many] man-like women (and the energy footprint was also man-like) And I'm noticing woman-like man (more and more of them through time). So this is really complicated. Having man or woman genitals doesn't mean your Qi would be tending to yin or yang most. That is individually, in my humble opinion
  2. Well, I see this is an attempt to make a good joke. How are you going to check if the MCO opened or not if you don't have it open yourself? Also regarding third eye... oh come on! Are you serious?! I bet Third Eye is something which only few people really has and can use. OR They'd say something like "There are over 9999 levels of third eye open. You are at the level 2. I'm [local teacher] at the level 234 and Buddha was 9999 level. Now give me all your money and I'll teach you all I know..." UPD: "And one day you'll achieve Buddha level" - that is what they say. People really like playing games nowadays...
  3. Just wondering how is it possible to evaluate so precisely...
  4. Are Secrets Really Necessary . . . (?)

Yes, that is exactly what I was saying. I was talking also about the things which are preferred to be kept as a secret in the MA Schools. AFAIK not a single true martial artist who attained Master Skill will teach ALL the secrets he knows. Always keeping something which makes him more powerful than the students Why is that? Well, too simple - to not allow bastards to steal the techniques. Only after the disciple is "tested" it is possible for the Teacher to hand over the Tradition. --- IMHO all the above
  5. Huo Hou Tu Translation

With all due respect to this project, this is what they say: Well, that's a disappointment I've found two articles about Huo Hou Tu, but they both are in Chinese, so that will take time to translate... http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_95249dd10101hbma.html http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_56184f9c0102wadl.html
  6. Does music deplete qi/jing?

Hello! The time has passed, Practice went well I feel cleanness and fresh ...
  7. Are Secrets Really Necessary . . . (?)

Hello Michael. Thank you for this story. I'd like to notice that knife fighting technique might not only include work with the knife. It may also keep more internal aspects of self-cultivation. And THESE might be really dangerous for other people. Like for instance the behavior of that person would change so that he will become dangerous regardless if he has a knife
  8. Yin/Yang . . . Feminine and Masculine (?)

Right, however it's turns out to be not so simple. For example some people need yin-qi to balance their excessive yang-qi. And that doesn't mean the need to get sick or get pain This reminds me that famous picture: Light doesn't cast shadows =)
  9. Yin/Yang . . . Feminine and Masculine (?)

This thread might be useful: Considering the "Immortal" as a pure Yang and human as Yin&Yang we can't say that Masculinity is something above of the yin&yang Otherwise all the "immortals" would be masculinum and we now that according to the 8 immortals it is not the case At least I know a lot of men who are far not the "immortals"
  10. Are Secrets Really Necessary . . . (?)

Just curious where is the topic starter... P.S.
  11. Are Secrets Really Necessary . . . (?)

All the secrets are on the surface and looks really obvious when you realize them. However, you can spend 10 years for realizing them through your practice OR (!) Find a teacher who already did it for you. And yes teacher will take his price for that knowledge. Fair? Fair enough. We can say this about common things like mastership, but what about spirituality? What about higher stages of the practice? Not talking about "dangerousness" of the secret knowledge, I'd say that this knowlenge should have high price like all the precious things are. And it should be kept in a secret like all the similar things in the world are.
  12. Questions On Confucianism

Thank you @Zhongyongdaoist for your contribution, It was really interesting because you showed up the aspects of Confucianism I (and probably someone else here) was not aware of. This fully answers my question (Could the Confucionism be the good base for the Daoism - so YEAH!) And also it says that Confucianism is a complete knowledge. We all know that time is going in the circles and for each time there is only one key perfectly fit. So I guess Confucianism was really a requirement for the time it was at the TOP. Considering that and recognizing the Confucianism as complete system. Shall we elaborate alittle on how can we apply the principles of Confucionism to our lives/practice. So everyone can benefit from it? Sorry for my ignorance but I'd like to ask how this principle 仁 could be reflected in human/practicioner life? Or shall we maybe start with something more simple like 礼 (ritual)? Thank you
  13. Does music deplete qi/jing?

Could you please describe what exactly is happening during listening to this. I mean can you feel your heart is cleaning? Thank you.
  14. Are Secrets Really Necessary . . . (?)

Have you ever being to China taking lessons from Masters there? While we have big community here we still are learning from Chinese (Masters, Books, Daoism, Confucianism etc.) Well, perhaps I should better say "I still learning from Chinese"
  15. Does music deplete qi/jing?

Thank you. I have the same understanding! What do you think of the chorus above. Does it clean your heart? Does it depleates qi, jing, shen? What do you think?
  16. Questions On Confucianism

Hello, I greatly appreciate your efforts! And as far as you seem to be the most expert in Confucianism, could you please say if it is corect to say that Confucianism might be considered as base of Daoism? Thank you. In Anarchy, doesn't one have authorities at all?
  17. Does music deplete qi/jing?

This is interesting research. I'm pretty sure that all this true. I only hope that Professor Moran end up with simple concept for himself after he did so big and deep research. Returning to the topic I'd like to add that music doesn't only deplete the qi and jing. So doing something bad with you. It also could do positive things for you like inspiring you, helping you to overcome the depression or cleaning your heart for instance. Yes it has its price, but come on everithing in yin-yang world has it I personally like to hear the music of the far gone Past. It could me Medieval rythm music or ancient Chinese flute or Christian Church Chorus. As an example, please let me share this magnificent piece of the Art with you, which I personnaly very like ^^
  18. Questions On Confucianism

Agree. Only point to add is that there should be the real power behind the rules. Otherwise, you know, young people tent to break the rules instead of following them... And after they did break, they build their new homes, become older and realize that those rules of the past were really good I've seen how Chinese people are growing up their children. Well in european taste the words like "harsh" or "cruel" are going to my mind, however all this makes it possible to keep new generation bounded and controlled (at least for the youth time) For me this is like a miracle, because when I look what is going on with the world nowadays my first thoght is to pack things and go live to China somewhere far-far away of this craziness. I still guessing how did they manage to build up & keep that system of succession in China. And guess that Confucianism is far not the last point in the why-list Well, immediately! This is to the quotes!
  19. Does music deplete qi/jing?

What a sentence! Bravo! My opinion is the following: 1) Try to listen to LIVE music 2) Be concerned of WHO is playing/singing this, because qi of that person is passing through his Art 3) Don't do it TOO often and never do ALL the time 4) Try playing/singing youself - this is one of the extremly GOOD ways of selfdiagnostics and selfexpression 5) Practice Daoism - that will help in everything you are doing Have a nice day! 20. Questions On Confucianism

It is believed that immortals are . However the question is what one mean when saying "perfect"... Thank you for that story @Starjumper I believe that for the Heaven it all the same - it doesn't matter what you belive in God or in Money or in Yourself - actions which you are taking - this is the only thing which will be wheighted on the Doomsday. In this regards Confucionism - is the good limiter for the people who can't selfcultivate by himself. After all I believe that the only reason why we have government and why do we unite into countries - is our selfcultivation boost. That's what societies are created for and I thnk it would be very useful to have Confucious principles given (planted) from the Childhood.
  21. Questions On Confucianism

Confucianism is a very good base for Daoist studies. I suppose people who has got confusionism principles from the childhood could better understand the Daoism. However those principles are quite a challenge to follow
  22. Huo Hou Tu Translation

Hello @joeblast Thanks forproviding these charts. I follwed your link, but there is no explanation where the last chart goes from. I heard that Nei Jing Tu and Xiu Zhen Tu are from Baiyun Guan, Beijing , but where is this Huo Hou Tu from? Is it modern compilation or the ancient map Thank you.
  23. Huo Hou Tu Translation

Hello, @joeblast Do you have any info about origins of 火候图? Where is it from. What school provided this map etc.? Thank you
  24. Qi, Jing and Shen - Nourishment Thread!

My understanding is that there are two types of shen depletion: 1) day-to-day depletion 2) depletion due to aging First type is being depleted through lack of sleep, too exessive mind job (like @Rara mentioned) and other activities leading to loosing of awareness. Second type is not a secret for everyone - just compare teenagers and old people. When you are young you are full of creativity and power, however when you are old sometimes it becomes complicated to use your mobile phone to make a call. The simplest sign of shen depletion is when someone has no much creative energy and can't be creative. I totally agree that jing, qi and shen are much more deep and insightful terms and I always like "whoa!" about the greatest knowledge Chinese culture is keeping P.S. Of course we should always remember that shen is based on body and health (qi and jing) P.P.S. Regarding different types of depletion I like Dao De Jing 12: Cheers
  25. Qi, Jing and Shen - Nourishment Thread!

Well, mapping jing qi and shen to science... That is interesting topic! If we talk about three then: jing - sexuality, libido etc. It is being depleted by excessive sex, and being restored by rare and expensive plants like ginseng, saffron etc. qi - is something like day-to-day energy. Better think about food and practice to replenish it shen - mind. Shen is being depleted if you don't have enough sleep or has too much thinking work (sometimes both). Shen is being restored with sleep and calm meditation. All three are important. All three are interfering your life independently. All three are engaged to one system - human. However in terms of nourishing and food I'd better use Wuxing 5 elements concept. It easier to map it to the real ingredients and find balance. Good Luck
