    As the end of the world apparently is near, at which time the all mighty Li will fight the forces of evil, there must be a date where if this has not happened yet, it simple can not any longer be seen as even possibly true. If nothing happens before 2020 or 2050 or Li dies, will you then stop believing in Falun Gong and Lis claims? If what he has prophecised does not happen then he is a false prophet no? So what is the latest possible time this can happen?

    It would be interesting to be able to track how the levels of various hormones etc. in my body fluctuate over time (presumably) because of my practice. To what extent can one do that (cheaply I hope)at home and to what extent would tests need to be done at the doctor or at a lab?

    I`ll buy the main theory but did the mummified people live long enough for a fair comparison? You`d have to look at cancer numbers below the average age of the mummies. Well, perhaps not teh age of the mummies as they are thousands of years old but the mummified people when they died.

    Hehe, no I don`t look like that and I agree that is a bit more than I would like. And if I would want to get that body I would certainly have to do one of Simple Jacks programs and start eating right and taking protein shakes. I used to be quite skinny. Now I am quite muscular with well defined muscles but not his size by a long shot.

    THanks again:) I have been burned out for almost two years and I am dealing with that in several ways. The weights actually help a bit. TOday I found that doing heavy lifts or presses or whatever with the thighs was even better than lifts with my upper body. It seemed to produce a beneficial energy. A lot of the sense of fatigue and pressure is arround my skeleton and especially in the legs. Weights seems to do a little bit for aleviating that and especially leg excercises. Maybe it is a testosterone thing? I always presumed my testosterone was somewhere above average but maybe because of burnout it is low? I should go check my levels at the doctor. Obsessing over the male body and admiring other mens bodies because you want what they`ve got etc. is a bit gay. I am pretty sure several body builders spend more time looking at and admiring male bodies than female bodies.
  7. Maybe you get ready for lovin when you meet girls and ready for fighting when you meet guys? Metaphorically speaking of course (for the most part at least). What I mean is that guys always compete in some form or another. Even amongst friends we compete in some, mostly friendly, manner. With girls you don`t normally have this sort of competion. But what you do have is always some sort of tension going on within the spectrum of potential relationship and connection. Fascinating stuff. Anotehr theory could be that women just operate from the middle dan tien and men from the lower and you naturally tuine int o where people are.   8. Herb effects

    My TCM doctor put me on some herbs about a month ago to help my kidneys and some other stuff. THe first few days I noticed a big difference then it went away. Now I start to feel some changes again but it is difficult to know if it is from the herbs or other things. Today he put me on Xiao Yao Wan (Pian) which he had me on for about to weeks some time ago. Then I noticed good effects for a week or two and then it sort of settled at a very small effect that did not change arround the time I took the herbs. How does herbs usualyy work over time? Is it like they often give an initial boost then you notice little while they slowly build you up and after a long time (months?) you notice real differences?

Thanks for all the tips guys. Much apreciatedI think I don`t need to put in to much of an effor tbecause at least so far results have been quick and I am not that far away from where I want to be. I think you might have misunderstood burnout to mean overtrained or something. I am talking about conventional all round burnout with memory loss and constant fatigue etc. That made me significantly weaker physically than I otherwise would have been and have made gains in strength slow although seems to make no difference with regards to size. The fatigue means that any little thing or mental effort is tiring. That means that even stuff like changing my exercise regimen feels exhausting. The little extra energy I have gained lately I will put into some other projects for now. But once I gain more energy I will look into your tips to make my workout more efficient. For now I am just happy to have gotten into the routine and getting some results I am happy with. But what are normal gains in strength for someone not well trained that does programs such as those mentioned? 25%, 50%, 100%? And how long does it take before one peaks in strength and size development. I realize that would be an individual thing and depen un a bunch of factors but there must be some sort of rough aproximate stuff one can say about that? And about the clubbels. What I think I want to do long term is yoga three times a week. Previously doing only that gave me fairly nice muscles but not the same as forom the weights. Right now I do pilates in stead of teh yoga but will change back at some point and I think I want to do an external martial art (thai boxing, krav maga something like that) once a week and clubbels twice a week. Would that not give about the same effect as three short sessions in the gym (3 times 10 rep of each muscle group). Anyway, thanks for the answers. It seems very usefull.

    I agree with this completely. Nicely put! Gauss, what is all this talk about getting into nice realms about? Neither Budhism nor Daosim as far as I have understood them are about being alowed to be somewhere pleasant because a powerfull god lets you. They are about becoming enlightened so as to become independent of the conditions you find yourself in. Achieveing that enlightenment is in both traditions not dependent on being alowed to become enlightened by a teacher or something that is dependent on receiving enery/gong or whatever to become enlightened. Sure transmissions occur in some traditions for gaining mastery of certain meditations and for help along the way but is completley absent in otehr traditions and certainly not seen as an absolute essential requirement for enlightenment in most of them. Certainly the Buddha thaught a way to enlightenment fully independent of transmissions of energy. So what Falun Dafa teaches is hersay.

  13. How to conserve sexual energy?

    I really like your post too apechp! KAP level 2 has techniques of single and dual cultivation that teaches you not only how to not spill your seed while having tantric orgasms but also how to not loose but gain energy when you choose to ejaculate and manages to have the energy well integrated. You could ask Mal about it as he was the one that said he had been thaught have to not loose energy when ejaculating. Its suposed quite simple and mainly concerns awareness and energy exchange. Shaktimama has a mailinglist about kundalini and sex that you might find interesting. Wihtout doing KAP 2 as far as I know you have to options. One is to use awareness and relaxation such as suggested by apechp while arroused and playing arround with it. The key here is too keep the energy quite cool and for the most part far, not close, from the point of no return. As long as the energy is kept fairly cool it is fairly easy to integrate. THis is the valey orgasm. The other option is to have have multiple orgasm (whole body or not). The energy will then be hoter and more difficult to integrate. THere are various levels of heat of course and the more the energy is changed by awareness and circulating the easier it will be to integrate. The key to integrate it well is probably solid meditation practice and other good spiritual practices combined with teachniques that blends teh sexual energy with heart energy and to bring in more cool energy from other practices. THe Fire and water technique on alchemicaltaoism.com is very good for blending the sexual energy with heart energy and fixes a lot of the common problems. The inner smile also helps as it brings heart energy all over the body and smiling to the sexual energy after sex is a way of blending it wherever it is in teh body whereas the fire and water technique is more on blending the energy in teh sexual and heart centers (blurry line but has something to it). Testicle breathign will bring in a non aroused cool sexual energy that can help to balance the hot. My teacher also says it is important to have a resting/yin phase to match the yang phases. So if you have active vigourous sex, then relax completely and just lie and soak in the energy afterwards and perhaps smile to it if you are alone or have looong snuggle sessions if with a woman. It also helps if you are going solo to fantasize in ways that bring in love to activate the heart energy. That way you have already done some of the blending work. THe making love to the earth technique can also help a lot with getting rid of excess heat and getting in some cool yin to help balance. In some of my posts in threads about sex you will find a link to the thread where this technique was orginially described. I write about all these things at more length in those threads so you might find it usefull to read them. You could also get an aneros. It helps you to get more into the spectrum of the tantric valey orgasm as oposed to the more yang multiple orgasms. All of this is easier with a woman as you get yin energy from her and she activates your heart energy during sex so that more or all the needed balance is achieved during sex rather than after. I would suggest that you start "medibation". Meditate for a bit then start playing arround and keep things very relaxed and bring awareness deep into the energy. Have an activating faze where arousal increases a bit. Relax and soak in it, take a sort of yin break, then go back to a more generating phase. This sort of experiemntation and experimentation with using the breath to maniuplate the sexual energy should help you get it right. Tao Semko has a couple of things to say in his kundalini videos that you might find usefull. One of the things he says is that when you ejaculate your oxytocin levels go down and that is one of the reasons you feel depleted and messed up afterwars and that is also one of the reasons why being in love and cuddling helps. It also matches the experience of some post orgasmic ilness syndrome sufferers expereince that herbs that increase oxytocin can reduce post orgasmic problems and it fits well with what I said about heart energy which is backed by to experienced teachers of eastern sexuality I have disucssed this with. You can find the thread with the links to his videos if you seacrh the forum. There is more about conservation than I just said in them (one of them?).

    Gauss, from what you write, especially lately, it is evident that Falun Gong is a twist on traditional apolocalyptic religion. It add in tons of unnecessary dogma and focuses on gods in heaven ruling our lives, a harsh distinction between good people and bad people. This stuff is usually the crutches used by people who don`t cultivate. At best it can function to give people a mental framework to live their lives but their are far more benign belief systems than Falun Gong that can do that for people. And especially for someone who cultivates these types of beliefs are unnecessary crutches to be avoided and essentially this type of stuff is a pile of horseshit that doesn`t do you any good or won`t do any of us any good. These elements of traditional dogmatic religion, the personality cult of the leader and the religious ferver fueled by apocalyptic type beliefs with which the members try to spread Falun Gong are the real reasons for its fairly high membership not the quality of its qigong. Sorry, but several members here and many others on other boards have tried falun gong, sometimes for years, and found it to be good but also found that there are better systems out there. Your response to Seth Ananda is laughable. Your explanation for him quiting and doing other stuff is that he had reasons such as jelousy or immaturity because of being a beginner despite having no knowledge of him or his experience with Falun Gong what so ever. Don`t you see the circularity of this reasoning. No matter how many people try Falun Gong and find it to not be better than other systems that could never prove anything to you as that experience is always explained by their own lack. Even if Falun Gong was the worst qigong ever you could not prove it being bad as long as you have already deceided that any sub optimal experience is always the fault of the practioner. As long as you argue like this you can really just stop pretending to use logic as everyone else sees that you don`t. As to Seth Ananda being an immature practioner, well he has been at it for many years and recently got a basic realization of no self. As to the gods being all powerfull etc. If you realize no self it does not really matter much what they do to you does it. Instead of being rulled by fear of gods just cultivating and reaching some level of enlightenment would do you much better. And the qualites of sincereity compassion etc. are cultivated very well in otehr traditions and by people outside of traditions and neither of those values are in any way particular to Falun Gong so stop pretending that they are and that one NEEDS Falun Gong to cultivate them. Actually I have taken note of the fact that I have never seen anyone speak well of their encounters with people in Falun Gong. If they are not actually fervent members like yourself those that have encountered them find them to be manipulative and not living up to their own professed standards by a long shot. Have you noticed that you never ever accept the standpoint of anyone as being legitimate although still in your opinion wrong. Everyone who disagress with you has BAD INTENTIONS. You don`t even accept that those who are critical can be so with a pure heart but with a somewhat lacking logic for example. This is exactly the type of mentality brainwashed cult people have and it is the model of thinking that Falun Gong members display all the time. If you look at Christians, Muslims, Taoists, there are tons of them that accept that people can disagree with them while having pure intentions. Sure many subgroups within these groups also have the same mentality of anyone disagreeing being evil as you do but for the most part they are able to discuss their beliefs without resorting to you paranoid explanation model. That members of Falun Gong seems totally void of this ability speaks volumes.

  16. Master Li Jun Feng, former coach for the chinese national wushu team teaches a style of qigong known as Sheng Zhen Qigong. Is anyone familiar with it? Is it good? Can you describe it a bit for me? I met a lady that that has been practicing it for a number of years and she gave me a quick healing which I found very balanced, pleasurable and impressive so I got curios about the system.

    I think if you can slowly and step by step increase the amount of practice you should start seeing more results. Standing meditation sounds like a great idea. THe wuji posture is very good for the kidneys. WHen I did standing meditation I felt it gave me the exact oposite effects of a burnout. I think the inner smile could also be good for you. You and your body probably need some self aceptance and it also works on balancing all the organs and glands. THis lady has a simple medical qigong that is very good for burnout. She travels a lot doing workshops. THe form does not build yin chi in the kidneys though. Not exactly sure what it does but it gives a lot of circulation and energy that feels a bit hot. In combination with something to help with your yin deficiency it might be good. You could also try some binural beats or brainwave entrainment to help deepen your meditation and make it easier to meditate. THey probably have specific anti burn out cds. Many people experience it as very powerfull. Several bums use it. Check out holosync. Have you tried a healer such as Chunyi Lin or Michael Lomax? I think done consistently over time sessions with a good healer can do a lot. I experienced it as way, way more powerfull than acupuncture. Chunyi Lin also has an arrangment were you can pay to be a loowed into a weekly group meditation were he projects energy. I have had a healing with him and his energy is very powerfull and healing so I would imagine done over a long period of time this could help a lot. Not sure if you have a partner but if you do you could chekc out having sex this way and doing the bonding behaviours: reuniting.info THat will actually help increase your energy. A lot. And it will help harmonize your emotions and body. THe point is to have the tantric valey orgasm not multiple peak orgasms Mantak Chia style. THey talk a lot about not having orgasms but they clarify in a couple of posts in the forum that it is in fact the valey orgasm they want people to have. Diane Richardsons tantra is consistent with this aproach. Hang in there I am sure you will get there over time.

    Falun Gong is a cult and I would advise you to stay away from them. Gauss always claims this is just chinese government propoganda but if you go online at websites and forums devoted to cults you will find plenty of westerners that have had contact with falun gong and can attest to it being a cult. Several members on thetaobums have done their qigong and had contact with them and with the exception of Gauss they all agree that it is a cult, that they will try to maniuplate you after having gotten into the practice a bit, that the qigong itself is good but that it still is nothing special compared to many other systems that they have gotten better or equal results with.

    The best advice is probably to find a medical qigong practioner that can help you find qigong exercises that would be good for you. Seing an acupuncturist and a TCM herbalist is probably also a good idea. THere is a form of stomach massage called chi nei tsang which is normally very good for abdominal problems. Deep belly breathing is probably going to be good. Ceck out Bruc Kumar Frantzis Longevity Breathing DVD for that. THe inner smile meditation works on all aspects of the body but can also be used to target the intestines and stomach. I highly recomed it. The sic healing sounds is also a basic and good exercise that can help in restoring overal health. THe wuji standing meditation posture is very good for all problmes of the stomach. You could also check out the book unwinding the belly about doing self massage on your stomach. THe yogic exercise Nauli is very, very good for the stomach but I think it is much to early for you to start doing it now and if you do it you will need guidance by someone who knows it and can asses wether it is a good time for you to do it.
  22. I did standing meditation for a while and liked it a lot so I am planning to get into it again at some point. One of the things that is said about standing meditation is that over time it corrects your alignment and fascia to near perfection. I was wondering what other physical effects you`ve noticed from it. Does it make you more flexible through loosening your fascia and because of the energy produced for example?

    Cool. after having taken a bunch of yoga classes and yoga workshop I have become used to being one of very few or the only man in the group. My first yoga retreat was me, a single middle aged guy, a guy and his wife, two gay men and 12 girls or so. Another workshop was me and TWENTY girls. Once guys find out they`ll be taking yoga classes just for the easy access to girls

    Not really sure. I have never done that myself but I have flirted with girls in yoga classes through the way I have looked at them and they have looked at me. So in my experience at least it is not like all girls want everything to be asexual when they are in a yoga studio. What I think would be a safe option would be just to engage in conversation after class (or before if possible) in a casual manner and take it from there. After a five minute convo I am sure you have both landed and most girls would be back in a mind space where they are open to being asked out. You could also look online specifically for girls with such interests. I should even thing there are specifically spiritual dating sites. Anyway, there are way more girls than guys into such things so your market position will be beneficial once you start dating such girls. They know very well it is harder for them to find a spiritual man than for you to find a spiritual girl.
