We had a 'cold snap' and I was thinking " I wonder who is getting the opposing heat ? " Then I saw it on the news . This often happens , its a heat wave here , then I watch the news and some place is having an extraordinary 'cold bubble ' . Apparently another one is coming , they come up in waves from Antarctica . I am far enough north for it not to be too bad . MY friend recently moved south . She is a Gurudjigan ( training to be an indigenous healer and herbalist ) and her elderly Aboriginal teacher 'auntie' got older and more infirm , it got to the stage where she was finding it difficult to lift one piece of firewood to feed the fire . So she is down there 'chopping wood and carrying water ' , she told me every morning all is white and covered with frost and she sleeps in an old broken down bus with no heating ..... brrrrrrr . I guess ... she will be there until ...... ?

There are other types of other similar dynamics . Certain people have certain 'things' or powers happening around them . They are not siddhis as these people never did any training or practice like that . It seems 'ingrained' ... they 'come with something ' (meaning when they develop they seem to have certain powers pre programmed . I assume it comes from 'past life; work or via genetic inheritance . I had a GF years back that seemed to be able to manifest anything she needed , it was very magical to watch that .... she would never use it for money though and believed that was wrong and would disrupt her 'gift ' ... she never practiced any sort of magic yoga or meditation . ( That I know of , or on 'this plane' ) Then there is yet another whole different side again to it ... and its the most successful and simple of just about anything I have encountered .... its something taught to me by my indigenous teacher . Yet again this depends on 'what has gone on before ' . Its like ; imagine a monk in a monastery , he has been doing all the practices and meditating and studying for years ... and observing nature and the seasons and learning from that . One day , when all this comes to a head , just at the right moment in the monks 'pre-realisation' .. just as the energies are right and the stars have aligned , the head monk ( who has realized all this ) walks past the other and clonks him on the head with a stick .... ! ...... the monk gets a major realization . But if head monk walks down the road and hits a random person on the head with a stick ..... nothing .

I saw a recent interview with an American political correspondent ... he suggested a lot is due to media and media should ask supporters of views they interview to to explain the opposite view to them accurately - they can dispute it, deride it , disagree with it , but 'can you explain the other view to us please ' . First, thank you for supporting Sean's directive . The answers I see are to make a 'pit' like before or restrict it ( political discussions I mean ) to one's PP .... BUT I don't think that would help the other issue you mention of sucking energy from the purpose of the board S . For the moment , I try to deal with it like I have with Oldbob and Coby's 'breakouts ' . Try to address their concerns and hear them but try not to feed it by talking politics back . One can always address their concerns via PM . I agree with Sean that it has gone beyond politics though ... when somethings are downright wrong, stupid and 'all DK ' ( decay + Dunning Krugger effect ) they can not be excused by claiming they are a ' political flavor ' ...that is just as self-evident to me ( and others ) as it is to Sean . Its intense times and will get more intense ( phase two has started now , since yesterdays events ... and they chose my birthday to start it on ... ho-hum ! ) so we can expect some 'stress relief ' posts appearing .

I should mention it was not 4 x a day , every single day for all those years . I did it on and off for many many years . Once I was on a type of magical retreat / house minding for about 3 months , I made a point of not missing any , 4 x day each day . Sometimes I would be going good with an unbroken record and then mess that up . Sometimes I would neglect it for a few weeks and then come back to it . The longest absence during those years would have been up to several months , then I would go back to it .

Yes, I have seen Hathor related to 'the eye ' as well as Sekhmet . The reason I asked is I see that many people have a view of Hathor in her other aspects ; 'benign' . Some say the more active or even wrathful aspect of her was Sekhmet . But I did a practice for years on end - 'the 4 stations of the Sun ' - with adoration / invocation /meditation at dawn, noon, sunset and midnight , each day . The noon position was ruled by Hathor and seemed at first misplaced ... especially here in summer with the fierce noonday sun , I imagined the same in Egypt . However looking at a more traditional analysis , the placement makes a lot more sense .

If you don't make claims about it then , they will not be addressed . Then you will not have to try to cancel them out by using cliches . YOU claimed a certain religion started at a certain date and made other claims about historical influences ( by denying them ) as part of a back up or some type of proof or evidence to an idea you had preceding that ... and now you are showed on a detailed academic level it is incorrect ( which also means the premise you were using it for is not supported by it ) . And now you protest as it isn't about the history ... when you made an historical claim as supportive evidence .

Yes it is . It was an eclectic system developed within the Alexandrian Synthesis . If its not understood I better explain . No hermetics is not Kabbalah - Hermetics incorporates hermetic Kabbalah though . To see magic as only control is a distortion of magic as well . In my experience the requirement to be familiar with certain aspects of the hermetic kabbalah , and the results from that practice were not about controlling anything at all , they were about realizing the relationship of one thing to another and 'fields of resonance ' with the end result of gaining understanding of how everything relates to each other . It is hermetic Kabbalah , its well known and has numerous references to it . This isn't just me claiming stuff . I don't see how one can say it isn't Kabbalah it is hermetics when some of hermetics incorporated a type of Kabbalah. I am not saying you have to like it ... its just the way it is . And further , the construction of Judaism was eclectic as well ... or 'bringing to mind' cultural appropriation . And further still , does not Islam have some 'Jewish founders' in its story as well ? Shared info / roots or cultural appropriation ? Its an unusual track to go down for a non orthodox Jew relating to Kabbalah though , if you are not that I wonder why you bring all this up , under the definition it applies to Judaism , Kabbalah, Christianity , Islam . . . . Or , some call it 'synthesis ' . Also there is the factor of 'progressive revelation ' and with that associated practices and teachings ... in short ' things move on and times and environment changes . Some practices are a 'technology of the psyche ' and are not dependent on belief systems or old or current belief systems . And there is much more in the valid magical tradition than 'seeking control ' .
