For some time the 'Fall of Man' for me has been a metaphor of the descent of awareness into the denser vibrations of 'physical matter' down from the higher aetherial subtle planes, bringing awareness out of unity consciousness and into the experience of the duality of complementary opposites. Relating for me to the Hindu notions of discovery of one's true nature of expression through Neti Neti... 'not this not this' (here on the physical plane among the diverse 10,000 we may come to understand at greater depth what we are an expression of, by comparing it to what we come to realize we are not an expression of through the experience of diversity in form and function...) Social evolution certainly highlights this and seems to be in an expression of intense de-coalescence to me, (particularly the influence of the industrial/techno anti-agrarian/hunter path of the last several centuries in medicine and farming particularly). Not strange. It's stories, based on stories. This particular tale is one of the older extant games of 'phone call' in the western world. Nothing strange about it at all, there was no claim of strange, it's another example of human nature. Human nature's tendency of emotional identification, adoption and then projection/assumption of veracity based on emotional conflation.

I would love to read WnP in the original. The Russian language has always sung in a manner few other languages do for me, but I will not in visit it in this life time in that way. As such, I reread it last year when my son first cracked it. He was deeply impacted. And for me, it's always amazing to revisit books and films of great depth after some years have passed, for as awareness shifts, the revisiting of what was previously encountered inevitably brings new insights. This year will be The Brothers Karimosov again if time permits. The boy has a monumental reading list already and one of my few endeavors is to read what he reads alongside him, sharing as we go. sounds like you've encountered the place of no mountain... it can be disconcerting to lose one's gravity for that which used to hold interest and inspire passion/reason to act. the tao however, is as a bellows... inspiration/apathy are an expression of this. trust that change is a constant and to remain as you are for long, is unlikely? persevere on your path, the mountain will coalesce once again (then disappear, re-coalesce, disapear...)
