okandalright Posted 16 hours ago I am in my early 20s and have been struggling with a porn habit since I was a teenager. About a year and a half ago, I discovered the website Alchemical Taoism and Mantak Chia’s book Secrets of Love, and I began practicing these methods in an attempt to quit. However, I am struggling to maintain a consistent routine and continue to burn up my Jing through porn use. I’m worried that I may be playing with fire and that there could be potential health consequences if I continue like this. I’m already experiencing tight pelvic floor issues. I’m also finding it difficult to connect with a community of people around my age who practice these methods. I’m wondering if anyone would be willing to share their practice, or if there is anyone here around my age who uses these methods and would be open to sharing how they apply them in their life and relationships. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
cake1234566 Posted 13 hours ago I would recommend staying far away from mantak chias methods, especially those dealing with sexuality They are closer to new age cults than anything taoist Theres nothing supernatural that will help you quit porn, i would suggest isolating the issue and working on it through the lens of modern psychology I wasted a few years in my teens before realizing that lol Dont worry about jing unless you find a neigong or neidan lineage, before that you're just dealing with the normal physical - mental effects of the addiction

Porn is an addiction and you should address it as such. If you can't find a solution yourself, go to a doctor who specializes in addictions.

You should quit that practice while you are still haven't gotten to that point yet. Otherwise, you will be living a very miserable life for the rest of your life. I hope you don't have any health issue right now. If you do, no problem, there is a way to correct the problem. It just require some patience and discipline on your part. I was very stubborn in hoping these methods would work, even though I hadn’t noticed any progress. Is Neidan something that’s only worth pursuing if you have a teacher? Beyond sexual health, it seems very beneficial for the body, but I don’t want to continue making the same mistakes as before.
