old3bob Posted 12 hours ago it is near futility too bring up a point of humane conscience with those who have very little or none...such has been going on for ages all over the world...and is front and center in so much of our world today. Once reasonable people have had the wool and worse pulled over their eyes and are sometimes assisting those doing the pulling; whether in religions or in other aspects of our lives. So, in the spirit of Mods Gone Bad, here´s what I´d say... Stubbornly perhaps, I continue to believe that most people are "good." Some of us are confused and misinformed, but even the most thoroughly bamboozled retain a spark of human goodness. Mostly. Yes, some evil ones exist. But for the most part the evil ones aren´t who we think they are, which is to say they aren´t the people who disagree with us. The people who disagree with us want happiness for themselves and their communities just like we do, they just see life through a different cultural lens. old3bob Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Humanistic sensibilities' and conscience do not apply to those hell bent on evil, granted evilly inclined beings or those that have aligned themselves to such also have a spark or atom of Sprit buried deep inside themselves and if they didn't would instantly turn to dust or less than dust, but only Sages, realized masters, Dharma guardians, divinely realized gods and deva's can see that spark and somehow and actually mitigate or stop the furtherance of evil, for regular Joes or Janes with noting more than conceptional armor who think they are equal to the task in using knowledge, will and experience to directly deal with such forces are dangerously naive regarding what could happen to themselves and others. Btw, we can run and hide from so called "current events' which are also human and spiritual events but only until such also catches up to us, so it is for mice and men.
