Sanity Check Posted Saturday at 02:35 AM God is powerful and terrifying. A common practice to distance oneself from these harsh realities is the introduction of middle men: God -> Saints -> Radio Preachers -> Television Preachers -> Pastors/Preachers in church -> Average Joe Which is not unlike people attempting to construct walls between themselves and God. God -> Saints (Wall) -> Radio Preachers (Wall) -> Television Preachers (Wall) -> Pastors/Preachers in church (Wall) -> Average Joe . To have something resembling a relationship with God might require something similar to the following: God -> Saints (Wall) -> Radio Preachers (Wall) -> Television Preachers (Wall) -> Pastors/Preachers in church (Wall) -> Average Joe God -> Average Joe ... Interestingly, the way people relate to God is often identical to how they relate to everything in this world. As the world changes and many of these middle men are perceived as being increasingly less trustworthy and reliable. God -> Average Joe Will become more normalized. Which over the long run will only give people more reasons to have a more personal and direct relationship with God. Win/win/win
Cadcam Posted 12 hours ago Yes, my experience with God has shown me that God is terrifying, and powerful, and mysterious. God is a powerful word, and when you use it, you should expect to be heard, so don't use it lightly.

I said: I don't want to be like these people & prayed to God to make my life harder. Ended up working 12 to 16 hour days x 7 days a week for a long time. Cadcam Posted 2 hours ago I had distanced myself from prayer or using divine names, or words like God. Sort of revered them. Then when I finally did call on God, I got an anseer.
