It seems to me that karma is the sum of all the patterns that you pick up though life.
I know the concept actually points towards inheriting karma from previous lives,

but that makes little sense when I look at how this suffering is represented.

So for me to overcome karma, the middle road of Tao makes a lot of sense, since it forces me to deal with my karmic  patterns.
Now the patterns are there regardless of origin story one believes in, and one has to deal with it regardless.
It is sort of like sin in Christianity, the actions deemed as sin is real, regardless of if one believes they lead to a metaphysical hell.

Now I don't care particularly about if anyone else is on board with this conception of karma or not,

I'm not partisan like that, but I'd like to hear other peoples view.
Do you agree or not?
What sources do you draw on to make that judgement?

I and some others can see the energies of personal karma and group karma.  We often work in pairs - one acting and the other observing.

Group karma follows lines of least resistance (like electricity) so can sometimes be diverted elsewhere in the group when the Lipika Lords are willing to cooperate.

When that happens the karmic energy around the target human usually shows clear changes and relationships change

I see, I myself are not tuned into any level of "visual energetics", I had to look up some of your words and it seems to be Theosophical.
I'm aware that it is a sort of old movement, but I haven't spent a great deal of time researching it.
It seems to me that your conception of karmic energy differs quite a lot from mine.
Maybe personal karma is the same as what I describe as karma and group karma is this other energetic thing?
In my personal experience Jungian intuitive feelers are more tuned into the "energetic" side of reality.
Since I'm a sensing feeler, I can only really access my own energies consciously and have to match intuition with reason,

this naturally leads to materialism, where the world outside has no special properties beyond what can be empirically measured.
Or that is how I perceive and interpret what you are pointing to, you may not relate.
