Has anyone worked with the Vasudhara mantra for wealth as a spiritual practice?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I’ve been curious about the Vasudhara mantra and whether anyone here has had real success with it—both in the material and spiritual sense.

I’m not used to thinking of wealth as something deeply spiritual, but I’m starting to realize that it actually can be. It’s challenging to shift my perspective from seeing wealth purely as “money” to seeing it as a form of abundance and harmony that supports spiritual growth.

If you’ve worked with the Vasudhara mantra, how did it affect you? Did it change your relationship with wealth—both in the outer, practical sense and in your inner life?

I’d love to hear your experiences or insights, especially if you’ve gone through a similar shift in perspective.

When I was about 12 years old, I knew I would always have enough money.

Much later, having been out of the paid workforce for 5 years, on re-entry I got down to $10, but all was well.  Currently, not being good at spending, I have more than I need.

I am suspicious however that the excess is intended for something in the future.

Not with   this mantra but by another process ... I thought I'd share this observation with you .

Many years back, I was living with a partner of questionable honesty , short story, she got pregnant and said I was the father  (turns out I wasn't - but I believed her for a while )  ... YIKES !  I better get my self and this place together .   I had another building next to the cabin and thought I could fix that up as a proper  'civilized'  nursery .  But I had little money so I did a 'working' to get money to buy wood to start work  on this building , which had open 'walls'  .    It was already a 'sleepout'  .

Nothing !    Not a cent .    Then after a while I heard an illegal  bush saw mill and closed down  and someone had nabbed some wood from there so I went to have a look . There was a caravan there and some security guard came bolting out , accused me of trespass , told me to get out of there or I will be charged .   Whoa ...  settled own big fellah . I just came to have a look at the closed down mill ... what will happen to all this wood lying around ?"

" None of yer business , the bank owns all this now  , probably get sold to Japan for wood chips ."

"  Wow .... all this beautiful Australian hardwood from our forests turning into chips of wood ....  Japan eh ? Well, no wonder , they ain't gonna cut down their forests ... they  consider them sacred and a national treasure  .... Not that I dislike the Japanese ... but ... ya know, I lost an Uncle in WWII fighting them of in New Guinea   ( I didn't t ... I was bullshitting    :)   ) trying to preserve or land and forests and resources from them taking it over and enslaving us .   WWE won the war , yet here we are ... all of our wood , going off to them for bloody wood chips ! "    ( I must have gauged the guy right ... he had seemed 'old school'  and would be holding such sentiments , I have heard them expressed before by a few ) .

He started at me  :   "  What would YOU do with it ?"

" Girlfriend is pregnant , I got no money , I need to build a new, clean ,  healthy nursry room off the side of my bush cabin ."

He started at me ... a pause  .....  " Can you get a trailer ? "

" Yes ! "

" Okay , today only .... ONE LOAD ... don't tell ANYONE .... "

"Okay ... thank you ! "  -  Zooooooooom ... zoom  back ... he even helped me load it  :)

It wasn't until I was nailing boards up that I was ; " Hey !  Here is my free wood, I didn't need the money after all  ! " .

Then the truth about the baby came out .   Later we split up . I finished off the 'nursery '   with   beautiful looking Borneo teak !  ( new eco-friendly plantation 'stamped' ) and set some glass walls in it  ( I got 6 giant glass pool fence panels for $100 at a 'garage sale' and now I have a 'cocktail bar '  , still partially open to the outside , with some glass walls that look out to garden , fish pond and my mermaid statute  :)

Moral ?    You might 'get there ' in the end , but the route might not be what you expected  ... nor indeed the outcome  :)

The only time I have been able to 'magically manifest '  $$$$$$$$$$  has been for someone else    -  damn !    :D

I often seem to be surrounded by a world of magic  :)

A friend got into a strange unusual argument with me about how much money she owed my   due to  numerous borrowings , I had kept a tab - It was up to $185  .  She started going weird on me and said it was "Like $50  or something .... "    I said I refused to argue with a friend  over something as trivial as money - just give me what you think you owe me ."   She slammed a 50 on the table and stormed off .     The next day I was in town and checked a lot to ticket I had ......   $480  win  !    :D    ( I told her , of course  :)  )

No doubt you are aware of expressions such as :  easy come, easy go.

It seems to me that there is an intelligence that manages such processes.  Some call that intelligence the Earth Mother.

It seems that it is important to be in positive balance with the EM - otherwise she is always pulling away undeserved wealth.

About 15 years ago I decided that I was in surplus balance and I decided I wanted to cash in some of it.

A couple days later I was standing in the usual queue at central station waiting to swipe my card when a dollar coin fell out of the air in front of me.  I looked around and no one seemed related to it - so I put it in my pocket.

The next day another dollar fell out of the air in the same place.  So I picked that up too,

Nothing the next day, but the following day another dollar fell in the same place.

By that time I had figured it out.  I was in surplus and if I insisted they would pay it out at a dollar a time.

So I turned to the woman behind me in the queue and held out the dollar saying:  I think this is yours.

She took it and that was the end of money falling out of thin air

unrelated to the specific mantra named in thread topic, but related to "for wealth as a spiritual practice."  There are three that i have used and do use.  And yes in my experience they do work, when i remember to use them and actively use them.

1.

At work during the workday, whenever i see or interact with anyone (clients, customers, staff, supervisors) i look at them and say silently to them (in my head, not out loud) "God bless you."    This made a big big impression on me when i read it many many decades ago in a book, it said if you work as a waitress and want to consistently get big tips then everytime someone walks in the door say to them (silently) "God bless you" and it said this was guaranteed.  I was very impressed.

2.

Whenever i am upset with someone or think of a person or memory or event or circumstance, that i feel resentment or hurt or any painful incident at all,  whenever that person pops into my mind or thoughts or feelings i say to them (silently if there are other people around; out loud if i am alone at home) "I bless you, i forgive you, i release you with love."  I keep doing this every time i think of them.  This is very powerful.

3.

"Debt is about forgiveness."  If there is any debt whatsoever, it means there is forgiveness needed.  Make a list of all the people that may fall in this category and do whatever your forgiveness practice is.  This one definitely works. big time. have not had to use it for decades now because, well, there hasn't been any debt.

It is unlikely that someone will give money if feeling badly about you.

Right relationship is central to clean/proper flows of wealth
