Huang Yuanji's teachings and lineage

Recommended Posts

Dear friends,

I read the book "Taoist Inner Alchemy" and feel a great affinity with Huang Yuanji's teachings. I would like to find teachers who are connected to his lineage of transmission to start my practice. I have also found a chinese book about his "le yu tang yulu" teachings (presented in the lectures of Taoist Inner Alchemy). I have reasons to believe I had dreamt this master back in 2014.

Can someone please help me find and contact practitioners in this teacher's lineage?

Also it would be helpful to find the emails of Mattias Daly (translator), Ge Guolong (who wrote the original lectures as presented in the book Taoist Inner Alchemy), or some way to contact Sun Changlu in Taiwan, who is a teacher in Huang Yuanji's linage. If anyone has any information about how to contact this people it would be of great help.

Dear Tao friends, I rely on your kindness to find my path

Huang Yuan Ji's writing is simply one of the greatest in internal alchemy.   The drawback is not very organized as it was a compilation of his lectures.   The problem in following his teachings was he didn't offer a system by himself.   He cited methods here and there only.   Those were not his own inventions but probably open methods at his time.

Ge Guolong is a professor well versed with IA, yet he just translated a modern version of the old book.   He is not a teacher and not sure how much actual experience and level he attained.  In short, he is a scholar but not a practitioner.

Sun Chang Lu looks very old in his book.

Thank you for the reply! I don't have much info about Sun Chang Lu's age, but I am under the impression that the photos he has are of Huang Yuanji not of himself, as 2014 Huang (re)appeared

Do you know Chinese and can read the original text? Do you have any clues as to how we can find this teacher?

I can.  Not much clue.  I visited Taiwan to buy Sun's book only.

great article at this link.   WOW

Thank you.

If one does not dwell on thoughts of good and evil,

What then remains of desire and heavenly principle?

Commentary:

Within the realm of yin and yang, fortune and misfortune depend on one another. When clarity and stillness are constant, and the middle way is continuously maintained, then one is without the flaws of partiality or one-sidedness.

i love love love this:

(from same link as post just above)

If one would keep the heart-mind free of entanglements,

First let the heart-mind hold no intent toward affairs.

Commentary:

This is the foundational oral instruction for the cultivation of the heart-mind through the refinement and the nourishing of self. Refinement of self is when external conditions strike the heart-mind and the heart-mind does not move. Nourishing the self is when internal dust does not arise, and clarity and stillness are constantly aware.

I don´t know Oscar personally but he is very approachable so you can write to him and ask him many things about his system.

He interviewed Matyas Dally, so you can find the video in his site or channel (I don´t remember where).

  • Thanks 1
