tianzhang Posted March 23, 2025 Hi everyone Tian Zhang back again, been getting (kind of better?) I swapped over Taijiquan as its more gentle on my body, but one thing I notice is that I cannot do the string holds spine visualization instead I have to visualization the ground sucking me downwards ... it's quite strange, this way my medical condition gets better and I get stronger but the string on head visualization is a no-go for me, anyone got any insights into this? Gerard Posted March 25, 2025 Dunno but honestly the way we are going; how tech has engulfed our lives; I'd solely focus on brutal leg work.  If Ma Gui advocated it before the Industrial Revolution, today would be like hundredfold: "Ma Gui advocated a rigorous approach to training with a heavy emphasis on developing extraordinary lower leg strength."  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma_Gui_(martial_artist)  I do lower basin walking every day on the Earth hours (9-11am) and Asian squats in early am morning training.  Visualisations make you very ungrounded especially if you are a Yang person (Fire years and signs achtung). Careful here.
