Nungali Posted March 17, 2015  This is really bad. We have a species of turtle that only lives in our little local river. They have, to date, found about 300 dead or dying turtles, only the rare local ones are affected. I cant imagine there are too many left.  Yesterday I found one floundering around in the vegetation of the shoreline, he seemed totally blind. I took him home and a NPW officer came and picked it up.  So far they dont seem to have a clue what is going on.  Possibly another species on the way out   http://www.dailyexaminer.com.au/news/response-team-forms-find-whats-killing-bellinger-t/2574403/
Marblehead Posted March 17, 2015 Sounds like a specialized disease for a specialized species. Yes, these things cause extinctions.
