Tai Chi Vs. Qigong as methods of improving QI

Recommended Posts

In your experience - how do Tai Chi and Qigong compare, in relation to improving the flow of "Qi" in the body?

Do they both do it equally? Is Qigong better since it's based only on manipulating energy?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks :)

The Five Levels of Training in Taijiquan

By Christopher Pei

Taiji is very complex, learning the physical form is just the first step. having Taiji as your one and only practice isn't a good idea in my opinion. Meditation is also important because meditation goes beyond energy and works at the level of mind to probe deep, going beyond energy, body, and dualistic mind to experience the true nature of mind. Qigong and Taiji are wonderful for building support for sitting meditation; balancing the energies of the body to create the conditions for deep realizations to occur.

Excellent answer! the importance of Sitting meditation is often overlooked in energy cultivation.

As there is no general circulation problem, there can be no generally best solution.

Tai Chi is not equal to Qigong.

Respectfully--if you want a good answer, you need to ask a good question.
