Wei Wu Wei anyone?

Recommended Posts

I have not read anything by Weu Wu Wei but I intend on buying Fingers Pointing Towards the Moon: Reflections of a Pilgrim on the Way next week when some money comes my way. I was wondering if anyone here has read him and if it is worth buying all his books and if someone could recommend an order I should read them in or just jump in and hold on.

Wei Wu Wei has written down some excellent "pointers". Simply the title of one of his books, "All Else is Bondage, Non-Volitional Living" woke me up a notch.

I don't own any of his books. I read lots of excerpts here:

Pack your bags,

Go to the station without them,

Catch the train,

And leave your self behind."

"This site is intended as a resource for those interested in or curious about Buddhist/Taoist philosopher and essayist Wei Wu Wei. It includes extracts from eight books originally published between 1958 and 1974. It also contains essays published in various periodicals during the same period. The material is primarily metaphysical speculation, and is not representative of any particular sect or tradition, though it draws upon many. It is doubtful whether this site would be of use or interest to those seeking introductory material on Buddhism or Taoism. "

I've read most of his books, they force you to stop and really work to understand what he's saying... at least they did for me when I read them last. His books were my first introduction to 'spirituallity' and it's been a wild ride ever since.

That said, I don't think his writing style is for everyone. Sometimes his thoughts are very abstract and can be misunderstood or lead to frustration. But, if you stick with them that one-liner that didn't make any sense 3 months ago will out of no where 'click' and you'll probably find youself smiling :)

One of my favorite authors, hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
