  1. what is reality and what is illusion ?

Generally speaking, tao is used in the earliest writings either as a verb or a noun. As a verb, it means "to lead," "to guide," or "to tell." As a noun, it means "road," "way," "word," "principle," The main reason that Lao Tzu adopted the word tao to name the ultimate reality is probably because by his time it was already used philosophically to stand for what is real, true, and good. What is real, true, and good must have been understood to be the "way" or "guiding force" (tao) of the universe as well as in man's life
  2. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

Everything in nature can be expressed as the opposition of yin and yang. This is the energizing force of all aspects of nature. It is dynamic and the basic foundation for change in nature. Yin and yang are also relative terms: A forest fire is more yang than a campfire; a campfire is more yang than a spark. Nothing is purely yin or yang; it is always a matter of comparison. Yin and yang are interdependent. Even though yin and yang are opposites, one has no meaning without the other. For example, day would have no meaning without night; heat cannot be understood without knowing what cold feels like; fever and chills can't be determined without experiencing the normal body temperature. Yin creates yang; yang creates yin. Numerous examples of this principle can be seen in nature. For example, on a hot summer day (yang), there is a sudden thunderstorm (yin). A person may get symptoms of chills and a runny nose (yin) that turn into a fever with a sore throat (yang). A hyperactive child runs around frantically (yang), then suddenly falls asleep (yin). Yin and yang mutually control each other. This is the basic mechanism of balance in nature and the human body. When the body gets overheated from exercise, the pores open and sweating lowers the temperature. When the body gets too cold due to exposure, the muscles shiver to generate heat.
  3. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

We come from the unknown and return to the unknown. Real people understand the situation but those with knowledge love to speculate and make up stuff. When people do not agree on made up stuff it starts another movement and they make changes to line up with reality. If the original concept was not true all changes based on the belief are also not true, I call this patch jobs. The material and spiritual life is simultaneously understood for those with no knowledge, no agenda, nothing to prove, no gain or loss, it just is. Some people fear the unknown all their lives but I call it home
  4. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

Western philosophy has a personal god that created all things by his will and is not a part of nature. Lao Tzu has an interesting way of approaching big questions. One being ultimate reality and ultimate source are the same thing. Tao is nameless without any quality and the function of Tao is observable. A very logical approach. Creation maybe considered contrived and un-natural in Lao Tzu view of reality.
  5. Binary Yin & Yang

All things work because of natural laws that make it so. We have not invented anything. what works has always existed. New technology makes us do the same old stuff with a new device. Who invented the wheel when round things roll.
  6. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

yin and yang, yin within yang and yang within yin to determine we need a true polar complete opposite, they turn into each other they are the same coin. In the west opposites are put into hostile opposing positions that are not related to each other. In reality there is no friction or duality. To move forward one must push off the back leg to move backwards you push of the front leg. Conflict is two opposing forces moving in opposite directions, I call this conflict harmony because it is one
  7. Recognizing Reality

They way to direct transcendence with out secondary methods is a very high art indeed. I am here because of threads of this nature were there is nothing to learn or control or the ten thousand other attachments It just brings light and I dance to the soundless sound.
  8. Recognizing Reality

I am pointing at the non conceptual. Verbiage comes up short. experience identifies with the metaphors and words used. The mind is a tool put down the tool when you are done. I am using some terms from the complete reality school like shinning mind for instance.
  9. Recognizing Reality

An ocean wave arises and droplets of the wave form a shape before crashing back into the sea. For a moment the droplet is independent has its own form, it came from the sea and returns to the sea. These short moments of having a body and a self as in being different from its surroundings is why my human mind is dumb. The shinning mind sees through the things of the world. Body might give birth to material attraction and miss the rest of the picture not seen by temporary eyes..
  10. Recognizing Reality

The first is the way of ultimate reality. Tao in this sense can not be defined, perceived, or clearly conceived. Tao is the root of all things, but all things are not Tao. To be Tao is to be unlimited, undefined or unformed. Tao is all the same, the ground of everything that follows. The Tao is also transcendent and immanent. In the second sense it is the way of the universe; the norm, the rhythm, and the force behind and in all of nature. It is spirit not matter. It is inexhaustible energy that flows stronger the more it is drawn upon.
  11. Recognizing Reality

You mean we are all jesus and the story is about us?
  12. Disable genital arousal created by friction

I love how vitality and reproduction is associated with only sex. The energy that allows me to reproduce daily activities like the dishes and work as examples is related to reproducing new life forms but do not limit understanding by a few schools that sell no sex as a way to infinite power. What happens, the medicine you bought becomes the disease.
  13. Deep-Centers

Chakra chakra chakra the sound of a wheel going down the road. The center is empty. If energies had a physical location then when people die they would have a shape. I have opened my third eye except wheels do not open or close. It is a process of living starting at the bottom and going up. If we can not reproduce waking up, going to work and paying bills how can the heart be happy or ready for love? When we have issues just start from the beginning each chakra is dependent on the one before it.
  14. What Powers the Nervous system? (Western Science)

We are one body not a bunch of parts that fire in a specific order like a machine. Living things possess one energy that functions simultaneously. If we take care of this one energy all systems function, all illness disappears. If we have a system failure doctors look at parts like a machine to try and fix it. When we are talking about something that can not be created or destroyed, no cause or effect it is obvious we should not be treated as machines that we build or should we use this knowledge and apply it to living things.
  15. Nature = Good

Nature provides all the natural resources for survival. It would be impossible to build anything without the stuff to do it with. Men decide to use the resources to benefit or destroy. technology makes us reinvent the same stuff over and over again. Nature invented the wheel because round things roll. things we make work because of the underlying laws of nature that make it so. Technology, are you dependent or independent is it an asset or liability that is up to you.
  16. Wen and Wu: the Civil and Martial Fires

Martial skill without cultural foundation we could call it something like MMA. Fighting for no reason or for money and possible fame to feed the ego. Cultural without martial ability is a warning for internal martial artist like Tai Chi Chuan because it is a very powerful martial art when trained properly with Wu and Wen. Seems to be an abundance of Tai Chi teachers with no martial skill or people who practice not knowing the martial foundations. I take the OP as a warning for Tai Chi players but also passing down important information to be applied in many ways as principles to life, Tai Chi is the way of lifes ups, downs and all around
  17. Stephen Chang - Deer Exercise issues

There are male and female deer exercises very basic and simple. Inhale lift up the perineum floor exhale and release all your muscles.Thats it! The anul lock is held for just a few moments (do not lock for extended periods of time. Do not leave upward energy in the head it also flows back down the descending channel, flowing, no stops and starts, continuous. I never read the book but the directions in the op has two mistakes already. Do not over glorify simple exercise because it is a exercise and simple. The effects of this simple practice has many benefits. If you do not have positive results discontinue immediately and seek out a teacher who will clear up the misinterpretations within a few seconds. MCO happens naturally, being aware of your own body is more important than "knowledge" from outside sources.
  18. Everyday Tao

So today I had a banana, I cut it once and there where two parts, cutting it twice there where three parts. One cut from the whole gives birth to two, two cuts of the whole gives birth to three,
  19. Everyday Tao

The banana I ate is now me and the water I poured in the ocean is now the ocean but there is not more or less water. Is there now more or less bananas? Seems like there are at least three bananas gone forever.
  20. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

The first two hexagrams from the I Ching is a great place to start to understand. Who can be companions of heaven and earth Yang within yin, whens its dark outside there is still light from planets and stars. Yin with in Yang when the sun is up there are still dark places of shadow. Dark becomes light and light becomes dark, meaning yin and yang are relative to each other. If we look at yin and yang as not a concept to understand we can just observe it happening everyday. Who can be like earth not caring but caring for ALL things. Who can be like heaven not kind but kind to ALL things.
  21. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

Right, mixing, using one to understand the other does not work. In the real tradition there is no division of east and west. reality has no political boarders like the ones between states and countries. The division I was making is just as you say don't get mixed up. Now we have 4 cents on the table lets see how much money we can put in the pot.
  22. How do we know what's yin and what's yang . Really.

Observation of polar complete reality. Day and night are polar complete, white and black are not opposites when it comes to color. Red and black are polar complete, red most energetic, black least energetic. Purple is an extreme reverting back to black meaning it is the hottest fire color but the matter is at its least amount hence reverting back to black. Men and women are polar complete. when Yin and Yang reconcile their differences it gives birth to something new. Fire and water are polar complete, fire rises, water sinks, touched by ice feels like burning, touched by fire feels numbing. For those who grow up in the west and the absolute fragmented worldview good luck understanding. To begin maybe understand the basis of western culture before trying to understand the east. my two cents on the topic.
  23. Magnificent 'Super Moon' Tomorrow

Clear sky and look forward to a bright night.
  24. Texts for preliminary neidan study

You can not force a flower to bloom it happens naturally with no effort. The classical texts are pointing at experience. After one has experience we get the point of the text without the words. If one uses words they become obstruction or fixation of understanding. The great image is image-less if one has visions ignore them. If one has sensation observe with out attachment and let it go. Emptiness is not empty, once self disappears and all things become empty of the thoughts you attach to them, then there is nothing left for the mind to grab onto and true breath begins. At this point you are free and independent of the laws of yin and yang and approach the eternal which can not be spoken. Body and mind rest on each other, use breath to calm the mind, use mind to adjust the breath. the two robbers of meditation are distraction and oblivion. Distraction is easy to cure, oblivion like becoming un aware of your immediate environment inside and outside is hard to cure. With calm peaceful mind the medicine is made.
  25. Jian

Chi Dragon, When the sword is in motion it is directed with centrifugal force created by the resistance of the ground and proper waist movements. The waste acts like a large gear, the hands becoming smaller faster fly wheels. At this point the sword is weightless in motion. If the sword becomes heavy stick and follow to avoid force on force, lead the opponents force to emptiness. Once the force is exhausted strike without delay.
