  1. Lineages- old and new

In general an Awakened teacher would understand most any lineage - but that does not imply that for those without a prior clear lineage that they would all be inclined to start their own teaching rather than utilize a previous one. It is pretty easy to see how tempting utilizing a previous well established lineage make many things a whole lot easier. In Essence - my bigger discussion here is the continued use of old wording that has proven itself to be quite unclear - though very clear after the fact.
  2. Lineages- old and new

Good question - but quite a few have and they are clearly Awake. Those that I am familiar with Awoke but did not have much of a relationship with a particular teaching. Once clearly Awake it is obvious regarding most of the realizations and your question in that regard.
  3. Lineages- old and new

In some cases it would mean Enlightenment as defined as the end of suffering, the end of fear, the destruction of ego. An abiding presence in intuitive awareness and what some have termed the un-grasped state. A state in which the investment in oneā€™s personhood and egoism / habituations has ceased and Self - Divine Essence - Presence In The Moment has come forth and one is abiding in this awareness. Oneness and Unity Consciousness may preceed this state or unfold during or after Awakening. A deep and sometimes completely incapacitating shift to a non- inertia state - often coupled with nearly complete loss of personal identity / the falling away of self/ego/oneā€™s story/identifications. Often particularly debilitating for 2 years or more in a sort of free fall with no desires or inclinations and often accompanied by intense feelings of gratitude (toward nothing in particular or everything at once). Typically having Awareness 24 hours a day even while the body sleeps if it sleeps at all. The shift may include phenomenal sustained changes in energy, a sort of constant feeling of floating about two inches above the ground while being utterly embodied and intensely visceral. Non-object Awareness, consistent frequent No Thought Awareness and the easy ability to be In no thought. No dreams, expanded inner sight, expanded Unity Consciousness and considerably more. Some residual habituations may remain but may or may not be obvious until they are. All seeking ends completely It is crystal clear that selfhood has fallen away - oneā€™s positions and habituation have largely fallen away and virtually no holding of positions that still have some habituation. It may be that Samadhi can be had at any time - that immense energies unravel in incapacitating but not overwhelming openings from time to time or become sustained. These were just some of my experiences and are frequently cited as full Awakening experiences and abiding Awakening vs ā€œan experience or taste of Awakeningā€. As as it has been noted - some consider these general qualities to be Enlightenment - I do not - though certainly some of the components are indicative of a more established abiding. Some experience fluquations in and out of abidance in Presence and loss and regaining of personhood and still sleep fully and dream - this has not been the case in the experience here.
  4. Lineages- old and new

It is not that it is different - itā€™s that older wording and contemporary wording using old words make an unrecognizable discussion. When one Awakens it is immediately clear what everyone was trying to say - but astonishingly - many new Awakened teachers go right back to using the same words that were completely ineffective in conveying the general feeling of what it might is some way be like. A very sizesble percentage of those that Awaken go to Western Medical Doctors to see what is wrong with them. Some are terrified. Most have been meditating or doing some practice for years. They simply donā€™t recognize what has happened as anything they have read or been taught.
  5. The Evolution of a spiritual douche bag

Someone said in the debate about how Awakening happens and in regard to those that say it is an accident - that ā€œAwakening may be an accident but that practice (meditation) makes one accident proneā€ and I very much agree. And after Awakening - of the most profound and abiding sort - immense work is still to be had - I generally only teach Qi Gong - since Awakening the weekly daily changes are beyond words and often debilitating still now some six years later. Teaching about Awakening is wonderful if a student seeks this - but with such constant change here, keeping a log of the happening is often about all Iā€™m up to. Personal practice is always so utterly personal- even if it includes thousands or millions of students. Six years since Awakening has been like a day - perhaps in another six i will be teaching. Teachers like students find their way. Like you have stated - some have an experience and mass assumption and premature assessments become a teaching. It happens and it is no reason to get bent out of shape. Also - sometimes itā€™s hard to see whatā€™s really going on.
  6. The Evolution of a spiritual douche bag

This has been going on for all of written history. In many cases those that became teachers were asked to teach by their teachers - even when it was very clear to the Awakened Teacher that the student was not Awakened. Most teachers of History were not present when the history was made and most teachers are not Awakened and certainly not Enlightened in the broader sense - so they teach from their ā€œhistorical experiencesā€. Itā€™s messy business on both sides - history teachers tell a politically correct partial story even if itā€™s partly politically incorrect - itā€™s still within the parameters of passable within the immediate culture. Iā€™m not disagreeing with the original post - but itā€™s not new. Its also notable - go attend a free class at many of these venues and you will see students working their cell phones while the teacher is speaking. I dont charge for classes and so far have not encountered this type of behavior - but aloof and often cocky students drift in and out - and this would be easily remedied by charging for classes. i once knew a person who charged double for students over 40 - and he did it for A pretty good reason - he wanted only older students that were really dedicated to actually changing - their programs were also longer and harder - and it is true - older students are more often like hardened epoxy - they are VERY imbedded in their stories, mind loops and personhood. What is heartening in all of this is that there are more and more and more real Awakened teachers happening all over the world and they are diverse and incredible. And many of the lesser teachers that you speak of are ardent followers of these emerging Awakened teachers. Some people like to teach - even if they donā€™t really know what they are talking about - and often they are great for the group they attract. Its a bit like taking a group of cats for a walk - humans are a messy discordant bunch who get tired of it and settle on ā€œsomethingā€ - and most want to pay something in order to at least create the impression that it has value and is not some inept kids program. For the very vast majority- those seeking Awakening do Not want to Awaken.
  7. Old lady / new member introducing herself

Itā€™s great to have you here! Astounding given that you are Five Decades Old ! We have several Astounding ā€œindividualsā€ that have reach such an advanced age. According to my abacus šŸ§® the numbers are in the hundreds! (It is an Ancient hidden society - recently made public because of anti-hidden society laws) I hope you are sleeping better and donā€™t have racing energy or pulsing here and there. Popping someoneā€™s back channels la di da like that actually is quite easy and a cheap trick that might have you believing it takes great power to do so. A bit like a sucker punch - a unexpected whack to an open system. Dont start fearing someone like this - quite a bozo. On the bright side - you can stop believing and start knowing about what you already know! The beliefs can be the biggest wall. Start with Breathing into your abdomen and smiling more than usual. All the best!
  8. Lust and demons?

So true in my experience - and the drive in my case did not subside with age until it abruptly ended.
  9. Watching My Thoughts Because of Blue Balls

Blue Balls does not make one angry - it actually makes it hard to walk.
  10. No hornets nest necessary - I am comfortably familiar with Objectless Awareness. It would be easy to argue in any case. So much of the language is unhelpful. We could speak of IS-ness šŸ˜Ž
  11. Lust and demons?

This is a very personal viewpoint - and obviously true for you. It is not truth however. For some it is not so rough and difficult and for others it is fairly imperative - but even in those that practice intensely such as you appear pridefully to rally behind - it can happen as you describe or it can happen with far less effort and dogma. The practice of abstinence here and there when called for is useful and can be as good or better than total renunciation. As it also does happen - at many levels abstinence simply takes place. When I Awoke sex ended. It did not require the type of effort it had before in 40+ years of practice. (It did occur to me to look into Qi Gong and it did occur that my leg channels opened far more than they already were.) Also - each time abstinence was useful to engage in, it became easier. However - it is true that the desires can be intense and last in full intensity well into the twilight years. Regarding sex in general it is healthy and in so far as practice at the very highest of levels and intensity - it is dependent upon the individual and the teaching one has adopted if any. Also note - my original response to the OP (original poster) was in response to him and what he laid out. From this standpoint abstinence would be ill advised - having nothing to do with weakness or poor practice or shortsighted obscured understanding of the subject. Abstinence from fear of demons and an inordinate preoccupation with ā€œlustā€ is in need of re- direction. Twisted and rigidized views of sex are unhealthy. As are recipe approaches to Awakening/ Enlightenment. Glorified self approaches are inherently full of personhood and straw man inner conflicts. The path you are on is yours with truths for you until they are not.
  12. Lust and demons?

    Very assumptive
  13. This is a high relative viewpoint - a sort of classic psychic conceptual understanding.
  14. The true center is not a localization. It is not the centered heart nor the area to the right or left - this is often lost in quotes and discourse. Heart Centeredness is Essence Centeredness - and may be seen physically only as the subtle bodies become one.
  15. Non-dual Awareness is without attributes? Is this an assumption? Is not Awareness an attribute? The Void is not void Stillness is not dead Cogito - Sum Love is unfettered un-positioned un-polarized emotion - higher emotion - higher Self. It is both Love and Compassion - not generated by Enlightenment but unfettered In Enlightenment - simply raw essence. This is fine pulling of hair šŸ˜Ž So many words and concepts that when experienced seem a thousand miles off - unrecognizable in the experience. it is only after Awakening and into Enlightenment that the words can be seen to point correctly and at the same time how easily they were completely misunderstood. Upon Awakening it is possible to not understand what has happened immediately - so far from the words is the reality - a thousand scriptures can even make it tougher to see. Stillness does not mean dead - it is hyper Aliveness - in no inertia. But when we hear the word stillness from an unawakened state of trance the head thinks Zero, the heart feels peace, the gut experiences no needs. From Self - Stillness is hyper Awareness in no effort - no held tension - the head is in no-sidedness and blossoms and radiates, the heart is in Love and Never-Ending Patience, the Gut experiences fullness in nothingness - deep roots in Unity and compassion.
  16. From Dwaiā€™s article: ā€œAwareness is love in action Awareness is dynamic, love is being. Awareness is love in action. By itself the mind can actualize any number of possibilities, but unless they are prompted by love, they are valueless. Love precedes creation. Without it there is only chaos.ā€ I have only had a bit of time to look at this but find wording in some of this problematic though I agree with the general premise of the article. ā€œBy itself the mind can actualize any number of possibilities, but unless they are prompted by love, they are valueless. Love precedes creation. Without it there is only chaos.ā€ The use of the word mind diminishes the scope entirely and the idea that love precedes creation is a misuse of ā€œtimeā€ and again diminishes ā€œDivine Essenceā€ as In time. Actions need not be ā€œprompted by loveā€ for value in the relative and in non-dual they would not be preceded by it but rather IN love. Love is not a dirty word - it is Divine Essence - it is all heart - with no localization. It does not ā€œprecedeā€ nor ā€œlingerā€. It is the Light in all.

Itā€™s was fun to hear of Freeforms ā€œnon conducive environment ā€ reference. My own Qi Gong Master often had people over with kids and food while I was in the same room silently doing practice for several hours. It was no bother in the least but quite homey - and actually very welcoming. They came to regard me as they regarded the Master - even giving red envelopes, food and gifts.
  18. Make a concerted effort to breath into the abdomen on a regular basis. In sitting silence imagine a sheet of paper that has any agreements and Co-mingling of energy between you and the person you have been speaking about - then imagine/know/see it burn up and be done with - not out of resistance but simply null and void and no longer in agreement. You can physically do this if it makes it more real - a small note pad or sticky note: ā€œall agreements and energetic entanglements are now null and void and I am no longer in agreement to any associationā€ Then burn it up literally. Breathing into the abdomen regularly will help to burn up fears and the outer edges of those things that bare down on your limits. It will also strengthen your general energetic fields and subtle bodies. Breath your energy around you somewhat close to around a foot or so out from the gross physical. For most people further than that makes them ā€œspaced outā€. Be good to yourself and abide in a higher vibration. Cast aside victim hood - breath into the abdomen as though you are breathing in a fresh cool stream. This person has little power but great confidence. His problems and delusions are not yours. But do see what confidence is capable of - breath into the abdomen and build your energies - have them and feel the soles of your feet under you. Be good to yourself and treat yourself and you will come to your Self. Siddhis both seen and unseen are simply abilities - all of them are capable of seduction - as well as great insight and creativity. It is not so far as you think that one day you can eat demons for breakfast and then have a cup of tea for desert. This guy is nothing substantial - move from the shade he casts. Move to the light you radiate.

Obviously The point was the teacher at the lunch was definitely speaking derogatorily of Westerners and he teaches a different teaching than in his own country and other Aisian countries. It is not at all an uncommon attitude in the East that Westerners donā€™t have what it takes for serious practice - so they often sell a dumbed down version. Instead of such a black and white example - look at the reality: 5-10 minutes here and there is basically not enough time to even begin ā€œmeditationā€ for a new person. It is very different if a long seasoned meditator drops into meditation for 5-10 minutes - they can actually BE in meditation that quickly. A new person is gaining some benifits but they will not BE in meditation in 5-10 minutes. It is a nice exercise and fine but comes with a pre-made excuse not to work on extended meditation. Everyone everywhere in the world loves the short form to get anywhere - but it takes time to BE in meditation and one needs to go forward thru the various phases in learning to BE there. A shallow practice is a trite practice - it becomes like religion - and aftershave.
  20. A straight water fast from 6-10 days would be very helpful in re-setting your dials to natural essence.

The general dietary ā€œrulesā€ are to drop stimulants and foods that are considerably energized without a clarity in their energies. Clean foods are those that have a relatively clear vibration - such as non-animal foods and unprocessed foods. Animal meat is considerably more complex and often has mixed messages in the vibrational component. It is why some religious practices have requirements regarding how animals are killed and how the various body parts are handled. Generally meat / animal products are heavier and can obscure subtle energies. Also the energies of the animal at the time of death can be very present in the meat. Fruits and vegetables tend to have relatively clear notes and are very vibrant. When one eats in relation to meditation is also a component of oneā€™s diet. Generally no meals less than two hours prior to sitting or practice. The types of media one exposes oneself to and definitely consideration as to what one consumes in the way of media of any kind prior to sleep. Generally the elimination of added sugar, refined flour, and alcohol/weed/drugs. With these guidelines and others one proceeds along and finds out through experience what applies most to their habituations and proclivities. Onviously mistakes are made and guidelines followed more or less. It is often in the ā€œmistakesā€ that the importance is seen. If one were to just practice ā€œsimpleā€ practice - one would eventually adopt the guidelines all by oneself. But getting to these sensibilities is very much aided by not venting off newfound energies in old habits. The changes that take place in ā€œsimpleā€ sustained practice are extraordinary and they sneak up on the new student with a sort of unreal ebb and flow. The guidelines are ancient and have proven to help those along the ā€œWayā€.

Sometimes the heightened senses from practice have people pouring over healing modalities and hyper- perfect life styles. It is not uncommon for a seeker to become a professional seeker of help, healing and the perfect set of energy amulets. Often this is just a phase - often it is not. Some canā€™t drink fluoridated water, canā€™t be near a cell tower and work heavily on creating various shields from demons and energy vampires and the like. Often a phase and often a lifelong debilitating hobby.
  24. Meditation sickness and related deviations

One relatively common action of meditation is a jump in oneā€™s energy. If all else remains the same then for some people with propensities to alcoholism or abuse - or drug related problems or any excitable propensity - then diet and intake of stimulants or depressants (such as alcohol) can have a very heightened and negative impact. They allow for far more stamina to abuse oneself. Anger management can be contained until a radical explosion. Impulsive behavior can take hold of one. ā€Simple basic practiceā€ always stresses the importance of diet in all aspects. The engineers are more concentrated on superfoods and semen retention - anything to get a leg up and engineer the energy to higher values. Some forms of practice are heavily trance based and for anyone already a bit spaced out and out of their bodies - trance seems like a cakewalk itā€™s so easy - and it is an easy way to the funny farm as weā€™ll. It is also not much more productive than good sleep - if it is productive at all. Often it is an exercise in delusion - as can be seen in a number of fundamental religious practices where nearly the whole congregation goes literally out of their minds, bodies and senses.
