  1. Things a Taoist do not eat

That's easy, anything that isn't utilized by the consumer (The one who eats) falls into the category of waste.
  2. Sacred Writings of Different Past Cultures

Vmarco, no one is truly "enlightened" be it through meditation or otherwise, so what is the point?
  3. Sacred Writings of Different Past Cultures

Nice compilation of data Immortal4Life. Thank you!
  4. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

Very good point! I think when the good intentions are meddled with is more probable. For instance, Jesus in my eyes was teaching love and selflessness, (Pure and Good intention), then others took his words and turned them into a religion and tradition (Same as many other prophets), manipulated them to suite their purposes and way of thinking. Then they perpetuated it so well that it is still a form of power today. We allow it because there isn't anything in science to really explain and define love objectively. Love is a subjective phenomena, and every religion is seemingly trying to control that, and convince others that it is theirs to "own", AHAHAHAH!
  5. 7 Elements

Thank you for offering your perspective and insight thelerner! Heart do seem to be the oddball out, and I think that it is because its manifestation is unique to life. I could have put life there, or spirit, but I think love is the underlying current of it. Love is the key to peace within ourselves and the key to building our earth and humanity into a heavenly place for ourselves and for future generations. That i why I include it because it seems to be a very important aspect to allow us all to accept one another, regardless of our faults.
  6. Taoist Chinese Medicine

It is OK Osalina, I have no hard feelings I was meaning it as a suggestion to experience first hand, but I understand I often word things poorly, (sometimes intentionally). I don't know if the elements are written like that anywhere else, it is what I have found through Seeking within, like Taoist Internal Alchemy. I found Metta in Buddhism but I would bet that others teach of the same things or things very similar : Love back at you!
  7. Taoist Chinese Medicine

(Rejuvenation center (love)(heart)) Did you mean thyroid keeps us warm?
  8. Setting up a Taoist/Taiji Retreat!

I would go with a non-profit and charitable LLC. To do so you need to file the standard LLC articles of organization (Form LLC-1) and an exemption application Form FTB 3500). Follow the procedures in these links: http://www.ftb.ca.gov/forms/2008/08_3500.pdf (Exemption Application) http://www.sos.ca.gov/business/llc/forms/llc-1.pdf (LLC-1 and Instructions) http://www.ftb.ca.gov/forms/misc/927.pdf (Exempt Organizations) *Note* You will need to file your federal application for 501©(3) status also. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1023.pdf (Form) http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1023.pdf (Instructions) I'm not sure how to do the Churches and Religious Organizations but here is the info: http://www.irs.gov/charities/churches/index.html How do you plan to make it sustainable? I was thinking along the lines of hoop houses and exotic organic foods / medicines. Then you could get a specialty crop grant possibly.
  9. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

Intuition isn't really something straightforward, and especially not when the self is in the way mucking up the insight. It was a prominent starting point for me as well, and led me to many things, at the time some of the things were misconceived, later to be unveiled in truth. Intuition is attributed to third eye. So be aware that self can play biased in interpretations of these insights through intuition. Intuition is also not always correct especially when muddied through the selfs interpretation. But it will generally lead in the right direction I think, even if it is a step back for two steps forward.
  10. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

Well, I figure if it is really intuition then it has brought you this far, so then go with it. Next time instead of asking yourself, try asking your true self or higher self imo. It will probably say there is not balance as well, because it isn't having as much say in general as yourself is . . . Also try to phrase the question in a way it could not possibly mean anything else.
  11. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

Who is this "self" that you are asking?
  12. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

This is telling of good intentions, doesn't appear to be the path to hell.
  13. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

    Good song sinfest!
  14. Things a Taoist do not eat

The thing about being a vegetarian is this: When an animal eats a plants only 10% of the energy in plant that was eaten by the animal is used by the animal. By the same token, when we eat an animal, we use only 10% of the available energy for our body. So this means that for us to eat meat, we lose a lot of energy in the process of it, and that wasted energy decreases the earths carrying capacity. To get just 10 grams of nutrients from an animal we had to waste 990 grams of energy. 1000 grams of plant energy -> 100 grams of animal energy --> 10 grams of meat energy used. That is the case when you eat meat, when you eat plants it looks like this: 1000 grams of plant energy -> 100 grams of plant energy used. At the same time, I'm not a vegetarian and know some people, especially those who choose foundry/factory physical labor work, may have a hard time finding the amount of proteins they need to perform daily tasks and maintain the muscles required for doing it.
  15. Things a Taoist do not eat

Nice post, Since Yin Tang is = third eye, I may know of what you are speaking. It seems to be more correlated to projecting from the Yin Tang to and through the pituitary gland, then instead of bringing pre-heavenly chi to you, you go to it. I don't know about it being a secret, but interesting tale.
  16. Merging the formless with the formed

As if your thoughts of disillusionment are not a form of the formless. Humans are like a nexus where form meets formless imo. Within formlessness is the ability to be every form, in infinite potential. To be formless is like in meditation (empty), to give the formless a form is to give it a shape or sort of mold for it to form too, in most cases I refer to the functional channel (MCO) as these molds that can shape the formless to forms of energy.
  17. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

I look at it like this, if christian doctrine is correct then there are only 2 choices, spend forever as a slave in worship or go to a fiery pit to burn, both are for eternity, and I really don't find either one of the options to be appealing.
  18. The road to hell is paved with good intentions

I think hell is only used for fear-mongering, or coercing one into doing good out of fear for repercussion. The focus should be on finding what it is inside you that makes you good.
  19. Evolutionary Biologists. I don't know the answer to how it evolved, probably something to do with letting you know your full and its time to drop off the waste, a sort of warning.
  20. I don't feel biased in regards to ones sexual preference, for that would require to look at people as gay or straight and label them that, when we are all humans. I think spirituality is an equal opportunity employer, but at the same time I don't think it was "meant" to be, as if some purpose as you were describing in relative locations. Who or what would have "meant" it? My choice is probably not in the realm of natural, as I'm happy without a mate.
  21. Need serious help please, kundalini problems

They are frequencies that have been correlated to the frequencies of our energy centers. The first one was 3rd eye.
  22. Furthermore: An animal that uses the anus for reproduction purposes is not going to reproduce to pass its genes on to the next generation. So you can say that Evolution through natural selection says that it is not a natural phenomena for animals to use the wrong holes for mating, because those animals would not pass on genes to play a part in the next generations gene pool and eventually those genes would die out in nature.
  23. There is an obvious difference, which is there is not meiosis going on in your anus. The only purpose it seems to serve is pleasure. (And only in some cases.) I don't think the positioning of the anus is anything more tan a place at the bottom of the torso, is we were to dump waste from anywhere else, the organs involved would likely unbalance us. Gravity plays a big part in that evolutionary trait imo. I doubt it is because "it is meant for sex", because who would be giving it that meaning? Pretty much all animals have the anus at the end of the torso to dispose of waste after the nutrients that are useable have been taken out, therefore it has to be at the end of the track. (A basic biology class may help)
