  1. Yigong by Sifu Jenny Lamb

Those people have plenty of other options for a treatment, she's not the only one, there are others charging more and of course many more charging much less. Price is just one of the criteria for demand matched with supply. Skill...location...time...methods used...beliefs...'reviews' (I have read a post from her about one treatment and it didn't sound like 'good business', she sounded exhausted. If that post was from her heart, I'd completely understand her price.) When I read what she charges (but who knows I didn't contact her I don't know what she would charge in my case), I couldn't bother less, I was more intrigued that she comes from 'daoist background' but practices buddhism...'so what's really working',.different people = different criteria
  2. Yigong by Sifu Jenny Lamb

Not that it's an excuse, but I believe Max wasn't the only one involved (ie. there was also marketing/production side), could it be he just didn't 'care' as much as he should about the final product? Pure speculation on my side, just read couple of old threads that's all. none of my business/moving forward: Is it ethical/are there carmic consequences, for practicing from the original Kunlun book that contained the 3 levels passed on from Sifu Lamb, but 'not authorized'? Or was that my 'good karma' to be exposed to those teachings that way. I'm split on the issue...tearing the hair.
  3. Yigong by Sifu Jenny Lamb

$0, $4 or $4000, karma doesn't care, just people do. $4000 is for 7 days 24 hours all inclusive intensive care by Jenny Lamb in her house, if I'm not mistaken. Did someone who went for a treatment with her complain? Or just those who 'considered'. I didn't talk to her, but in her articles she's quite clear about all possible kinds of entities, ie. not just 'ghosts sucking up your powers' but also self-created thought forms etc. I don't know what she tells to those who contact her exactly but if you have details about potentially unethical behaviour, why not post the details? Otherwise it's just the old 'how does (s)he dare to charge so much' game.

  5. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Thank you very much for sharing your intuitive's readings, very helpful, especially those about individual FP exercises! That might be more about how Bruce Frantzis teaches than a feature of this relatively simple system, as he is very precise and detailed with all of his systems. Where others would produce a 1hour DVD to teach whole system, he can go for an hour just about the 1st movement.
  6. Taoist Temple In Aspen CO

For the sake of objectivity, I think your other note about this particular reading, as posted in FP thread, was more detailed, so if you wouldn't mind I'm copying and pasting it here: It's more allowing in interpretation (ie. effect on energetic system of person the reading was done for not general effect, and he couldn't interpret that energy). Btw. I was amazed about the depth and accuracy of some particular readings your intuitive did, especially about how some FP exercises work, thank you so much for sharing tao stillness!
  7. For comparison, single seated meditation from DVD no. 2 in Flying Phoenix takes way over 5 minutes to complete (7 rounds), maybe 15-20. FP being large system, it is also somewhat loose - exercises being independent, you don't have to learn everything especially if you only adopt it as supplementary practice.
  8. Yadi Alamin - The Qigong Therapist

He studied with these two teachers as well, but they didn't seem to influence his courses by my estimate (though I didn't see thus can't comment about two of them - Neikung nor Three treasures) and by his words (about his short training with Clyman), currently he lists other teachers as his major influence. Also I see you opened another thread about medical qigong. Yadi Alamin's health course doesn't have any seated meditations, and is fast moving. Which is in sharp contrast eg. with Flying Phoenix system approach (very slow movements).
  9. Yadi Alamin - The Qigong Therapist

I don't have direct experience with him. If you have seen a couple of classic qigong systems, you will not be overly surprised. For those looking for some new miracle system, not good (we are on TTB so extra disclaimer: not for mopai fans either LOL). If you look for something with solid working promise, routine to follow with a purpose (healing or strength) this might be it. Mostly hard qigong, no slow graceful movements. Worth checking couple of his Youtube videos to see where he is coming from. Here's a sampler: His course routines are collected from numerous systems.

LOL no worries. I got "heart of bagua is coming in a bit..." and that was it
  11. Pan Gu Shen Gong

Just watched Michael Winn doing this form on Youtube, his performance seemed similar to part of Kwan Yin Magnetic Qigong from Chris Matsuo (of which I only have fragments, but I believe one part of it uses same three movements to work on sun and moon and central channels in very similar way as Pan Gu Shen Gong), interesting !
  12. DGS's Dizzying DVD Collection

8 Energy Set - Bagua Zhang "Awakening the Dragon Within" "One of the main benefits is moving the lifeforce through the chakra system and activating the eight psychic channels." - 28 minutes in total, produced in 2001, 20 minute is the main content, very light on talk and explanations, goes over the form at least 6 times - 8 palm postures while walking the circle, each while centering your energy in corresponding chakra, also mentions the channel activated - sacral pump walking IMHO: Likely a very foundational set from a point of view of an experienced practitioner, but it doesn't cover any foundational basics of bagua zhang. Still it can likely be practiced by someone who has no bagua specific basics as a moving meditation - it mentions as possible using normal walk, or even using sacral pump walking whole set, instead of mud stepping. Ba Gua Circle Walking Nei Gong book by Tom Bisio covers about the same postures (but doesn't cover chakras, sacral pump walk, also in video you can watch smooth transitions between postures). Here is an official description taken from elsewhere, but I believe it covers same DVD: "Bagua 8 energy Qigong set. This form was Proffessionally filmed with Christopher Lee Matsuo & Kahuna Mark Saito by Chen Pi Enterprises for Huna and Warrior training seminars (also for the 9 gates mystery school) There is much detail in both skill and knowledge. Fuse the body to the chakra system. Each posture strengthens the body's physical frame with a chakra Each step aligns the body with the centripital, centrifugal forces, expansion and contraction and the center of the circle (true polestar stepping) (pole star stepping has to do with the body as the dragon or big dipper circling the pole star.) Each posture seamlessly transforms to the next posture. Develops amazing balance and internal power. This is the foundational set of which the power of the bagua is based at the chakras or zero points of the body. Sacral pump footwork is utilized for maximum chi flow and to develop whipping strikes of the knee, toe and heel. (this video shows 2 types of footwork to choose from for levels of difficulty) This form takes an hour to do, but is totally worth it."

It's also on http://wishiwereinhawaiishop.com/store/product.aspx?catid=0&pid=326 but if you order through Lao Xie directly (contact as Trunk posted) it's also available as an online download, if you prefer that over DVD.
  14. Nothing can beat a diagnosis and treatment from a specialist (TCM doctor, meditation master,...). Anyway, if I was in similar situation, I'd likely attempt to increase physical exercise/activities, possibly taichi or walking meditation, and test the waters with gentle self-massage and being more mindful in your daily activities ('being in your body' - eg. Eckhart Tolle in Power of Now is good basic source on that).
  15. Youtube depends on whether you watch 10 instructionals each 10 minute long, or 10 films in HD quality each 1 hour long, unless you watch long HD clips I wouldn't worry about it. My usual Youtube download in medium quality is 10-25MB for a couple of minutes. Just checked one, 45 minute lecture 640x360 was 120MB. You can measure your current bandwidth consumption for a day or two, at least approximately. I'm now on Windows 8 which is somewhat different beast, so would have to check for that one, but on the earlier Windows versions you could just click the connection icon in the tray and find both in and out traffic consumed. Don't know how exact it is, but shall suffice for this purpose. Or there are programs that will measure it, "freeware connection meter" or similar search phrase should return couple of suitable ones.
  16. This would be best thread to ask in: http://thetaobums.com/topic/21297-kuan-yin-magnetic-qigong/ IMHO it's one of those where you have to be particularly careful, for it's not about filling some empty space in the navel as usual but "frying the brain"
  17. Some do systems in order to master them, others might have different reasons for their practice (heatlh....feeling better....just to do something hippier than watching TV). Take one at a time for a year, to see whether it helped....depends on what the goal is. Might work with spiritual goals, but I'm not sure about health goals for example. And with health issues, was it the medications or qigong A or qigong B or walking to work instead of riding car, or better food, that helped....no big deal as long as the problem is gone. This quite names some of the reasons why to mix: some mix well, and some that mix are not new. Wasn't bagua a system mixed from other systems .... that would explain why you feel you don't have to mix anymore I agree with most of what was posted above...just that it isn't all black&white.
  18. Might be old techniques to you but just in case, for something relatively non-standard: Kuan Yin Magnetic Qigong from Christopher Matsuo that Trunk I think suggested somewhere earlier in this thread already, works with ida/pingala/sushuma and 'cultivates' pineal and pituitary glands. Flying Phoenix has percentage breathing and DVD is low priced (unless one wants to acquire whole system).

Czech, but speaking also a tiny little bit of German thus occasional mix-up. Must have been some old German textbook school memory deeply imprinted (und Butter = and butter) . (did I mention practicing FP brings for me quite some old memories to surface...mostly sensory memories (smells, moments of much sharper perception of reality tracing back to what/how I used to perceive as a child,...) I was mostly aspiring to provide a starting line for others. We must have some solid English or native English speakers on this thread who found their creativity enhanced through FP practice? Thank you for the recent couple posts of daily practice routines, that's an inspiration for the future. (And encouragement, if Sifu still practices basics after decades, there must be something to those 'basics'.)
  20. See this: http://www.taichimaster.com/tai-chi/should-your-left-or-right-hand-go-on-top-in-qigong-and-meditation/
  21. Hung Lung Hei Gung has static and dynamic forms, static sitting forms have mudras but no percentage breathing, one of the dynamic forms has reverse breathing. BFSYG, in the 2 out of 3 released DVDs, has static seated/standing position while holding simple mudras and with percentage breathing. DVD 3 is likely similar, but not sure. No reverse breathing. But that covers only small part of the system. What's in the higher levels is only known to sifu and his students.
  22. SECRETS OF TIBETAN BON PO SPIRITUAL & MEDICAL QIGONG final part contains violet sun meditation which involves transformation using mudras and visualization, and also works with dantians. Not sure about the rest nor the other videos .
  23. for the record, I have contacted ECETI about the removed videos, and they said they don't have them available
  24. closing the session is not to prevent spontaneous movements, I'd say it's partially to also help release old stagnations and mainly to prevent creating new stagnations with practice your old issues are resurfacing and you are also becoming more sensitive so that you might see spontaneous movements even during the day at least that's from my little experience, though I don't do S-M (yet) I suggest to post more details about your practice, ie. how much time you spend exercising and on which qigong exercises, it's likely you'll receive more fine-tuned replies from experienced practitioners.

after 25 lines thrown away and couple new English words learned, msw1 from dvd2 (90 - 50 - 40 - 30 - 10): first bread und butter before you "enter the shrine" open the shutter or, a tiny bit closer to the poetic names of some other GM Doo Wai's meditation names (like "Child praying to the goddess of mercy"): first bread und butter awed "child entering the shrine" opens the shutter
