  1. Daylight Savings Time and Meditation

You should practice according to your true local time where you live. Time zone is invented in the very late 1800's, after fast traveling with railroads became possible. Before that, noon is when the sun is directly overhead on the sundial.
  2. Eczema

Dr. Mercola has a video and article on eczema which you might want to take a look. Here's another Dr. Mercola article. One thing you should check is if she has a hidden sensitivity/intolerance to foods such wheat or milk. Sometimes the bad effects show up days after consumption, so you would not think it's connected. I also have seen many articles say probiotics can help with eczema. Here's one. This Bryon Richard's article suggests candida could be a cause, which is why probiotics can help. You might want to try a high quality probiotic product such as this one. It is quite expensive though. This brand is pretty good and economical.
  3. Jeff Primack

Lama Tantrapa just did an interview with Jeff Primak. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/qigongmasters/2011/06/07/interview-with-jeff-primak
  4. I believe this means the teacher emits a qigong energy field that allows the students to practice at a higher level and to speed up the effect of the practice. "Dai" means to lead, to bring others along. The effect is temporary and stops when the teacher stops creating the field.
  5. Wooow! On his second video, at 4:40, he burned a hole on a paper with his finger! Pretty amazing...
  6. Ya Mu, Which methods do you use for long distance healing work? My impression from reading the posts is that you use Wai Qi Liao Fa for long distance healing, and that taoist energetic medicine method you mentioned has to be used in person (because the practioner needs to sense the neuro-energetic palpations). Is Wai Qi Liao Fa something different than the taoist energetic medicine? Thanks.
  7. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

John, What is your goal of practicing qi qong? There are systems for - Martial arts/self defense - Health/self healing/longevity - Healing other people - Spiritual development/help to reach enlightenment - Become "immortal" - Develop psychic abilities - Maybe some other things too Many systems can be for more than one purpose. As far as I know, Yi Gong is for health of self and spritual enlightenment, both SFQ and FP are for health of self and healing other. I'm also very interested in Sifu Jenny's Yi Gong, since I like the spontaneous and spiritual aspects of it. I've been wondering if Yi Gong and FP are a good combination? What is your experience so far?

Sifu Terry, Thanks for the info. I never knew herbs can help with qigong practice. I found the tea at an online store at: https://www.flyingphoenix.us, while trying to Google about Feng Tao Teh. There is no ingredient list at the site, but according to the article on the site: https://www.flyingphoenix.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=2 this is Feng Tao Teh's formula and helps with FP practice to build chi faster. Also there is a FP demo by GM Doo Wai on the site. It's a long standing meditation. I quickly browsed your FP DVDs to try to look for it but didn't find it, though I'm missing DVD #6.

Sifu Terry, May I ask if you have any experiences with the Blue Flying Phoneix Tea, and if it boosts the practice a lot when you drink it while practicing FP? Can it be used with other qigong practices for health and building up chi in the body? Also, I'm wondering if Flying Phoneix is mostly a medical chi qong system, or does it also have a spiritual aspect to it? The reason I ask is because I heard some taoist practices can help one reach enlightenment and immortality. Thanks!

Hello Sifu Terry, A problem I have is trying to maintain the Monk Gazing the Moon hand position with eyes closed in sitting meditation #1 (5 60 80 40 30 breathing). After I flip my hands a while, my hands drift too far apart or too close, or one hand is raised higher than the other, or two arms end up in different angles. Everytime after finishing, I open my eyes and look at my hands and found my "Moon" in a bad shape. Now I'm taking a peek at my hands several times during the meditation to correct the form. I'm wondering if opening the eyes for a little bit during the meditation is OK or not? Thanks.
