  2. Rare Martial Arts (post them)

I hate it when someone posts the Helen Liang Liuhebafa it's the wushu competition variation and completely empty. Here are some more... 'legitimate' representations of the art. Wai Lun Choi's student in Chicago The late master David Chan and his son Mok Kei Fai
  3. Rare Martial Arts (post them)

I saw an old Korean tiger style performed once by the fellow who intro'd me to bagua. In his words it was 'proto-internal' and that the primary strategy was point grabbing and compression. Pretty intense but he refused to teach the entire system so I wasn't really interested in spending the time with it.
  4. What are you reading right now?

Rincewind was always my favorite character and the Night's Watch stuff usually gave me the best laughs. Those dwarves, it was too much man, bearded dwarf policewomen in dresses.
  5. Windows 8.1

That's a sweetheart deal between them. From my experience as a Comcast tech support agent Norton can be detrimental to many users' computers. Norton and McAfee are both dung to be scraped from a user's machine.
  6. Windows 8.1

The free ones are good but the best antivirus that I paid for was ESET's NOD32.
  7. Windows 8.1

There are many cool things about Chrome. You can look up guides on how to make Chrome "faster," AdBlock Plus is pretty awesome, I had to supplement the in-built Google Translate feature with a plugin as it didn't auto-translate everything. I also use the Google Voice plugin so I can send SMS messages typed on the keyboard. <--- Chrome fanboy
  8. What's the best thing you learned from taoism?

The best thing I learned was empathy.
  9. Sorry Folks

Yeah... I'd rather use Linux than anything Windows 8.x at the moment. I haven't buggered with the new BIOS shite but it doesn't look too complicated. Can't be as bad as the old floppy diskette BIOS updates turning one's whole motherboard into a paperweight.
  10. What are you reading right now?

I think it's probably to help counter his medical costs or something. Pratchett's struggle with Alzheimer's probably has a bit to do with it.
  11. Sorry Folks

It happens to the best of us. I give my own first name as another that is also monosyllabic and starts with 'M' at times.
  12. Sorry Folks

Actually HP bought them and used the name in their business machines for a few years until the brand was no longer recognizable. At least it wasn't an eMachines...
  13. What are you reading right now?

I recently finished The Long Mars by Stephen Baxter and Terry Pratchett. Seems they've taken a cue from Kim Stanley Robinson in describing Mars and Greg Bear's Darwin's Radio in talking about an emergent hominid species from within humanity. It's as if the two fellows got together and just went pure fanboy to write their collaborative books. The books aren't at all funny without the trolls and overall I'd say this is a highly disappointing science fiction series from two very talented authors.
  14. Help us help Buddhist Discussion

I don't participate in this area of the Bums because I well recall the Buddhist flame wars. Absolutist remarks from many of those discussing the Buddhist topics seems to run rampant. Even your own response is illustrative of why I'd rather not be in here. Take my comment back? Or what? What a silly, defensive attitude, getting upset when I assert my opinion. Honestly, I'm finding myself slowly drifting away from the entirety of the community because of the lack of content overall.
  15. Help us help Buddhist Discussion

While I'm all for it I'd really rather not have the pollution from these posters enter into the main areas. Might want to just make it a subforum of The Pit...
  16. What are you reading right now?

I am currently reading Tom Lloyd's Moon's Artifice which is a rather interesting fantasy novel so far. I liked his earlier work but haven't read further than the first book in his last series.
  17. I am looking for a Teacher

  18. Fanfic Porn Slam Poetry

Give me Mickey Randleman or Lauren Perry from the Arizona slam circuit any day.
  19. Ok, I can't do this...

Sorry, can't say as I recognize much of anything in your post. I was actually referencing this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musica_universalis
  20. Disable genital arousal created by friction

Maybe some new underwear is in order so you're not flapping about. http://mypakage.com/#1
  21. Disable genital arousal created by friction

LMAO GMP, or there's always the Bengay and/or IcyHot application...
  22. Ayn Rand on Israel and the Middle East

Ayn Rand is a libertarian hero here in the US of A and many spout her stuff like they would the four gospels. From what I gathered her philosophy comes down to, "Everything sucks, work REALLY hard, fuck everyone else."

  24. Fung Loy Kok Tai Chi?

I would disagree that it is neigong, Moy Lin Shin's movements look empty. Just because he learned from Liang Zipeng does not mean he got proper transmission of the arts. It's like saying a car is good because it's a Ford - you can drive a nice Ford Fusion or you can drive a Pinto.
  25. Fung Loy Kok Tai Chi?

There are some wonderful videos out there that can provide you with concepts. Unfortunately, without the concrete instruction of a teacher to SHOW you what these things FEEL like your progress will be very slow. I recommend these exercises to help you start with the foundations of connected movement. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuPtOSNkJcFliXv6XvzcSbtbIz3o9QXrp
