  1. So how do you react with love to a bad person? I can't seem to feel good emotions towards a person who never gives me good emotions in return. I become intellectual with them and I actually become angry if I stay open for such people for too long. I can tolerate bad persons for eternity and I can act good towards them according to my ethics, but giving them love would be bad behaviour on my part according to my ethics. The very myth of vampires have existed for this reason. People share love and vampires drain your energy and never return any positive emotion. If you're out having a good time with people, sometimes people just keep whining and ruin the entire happiness and love for the entire group. What about that? But mostly how can you change your own emotions? How can the sage see beauty in ugly and love bad people? Secondly, about trust. You say that the sage knows that he trust only in people being themselves. I actually do not trust that people will be themselves. I actually strongly believe that people change every single second. I don't see a constant self to lay trust upon, woulden't that be insanity? And if the sage does trust people to be themselves then why is it written that there is the untrustworthy? Why mention untrustworthy if according to the reality of the sage untrustworthyness doesn't exist? I'm very curious and confused. So no need to answer all my questions if you don't want to. You guys have helped enough, I'll keep posting though. Maybe I'll understand it some day...
  2. I really am trying to reach more wise thoughts and believes. I'm not joking or making fun of anyone or insulting any text. These are my real authentic thoughts I write here. I try to write it as clearly as possible. The fact that this chapter reminds me of borderline disorder is not ment as an insult. I did it so that you can see where I'm at when it comes to the interpretation of this chapter. I've gotten alot of diffrent perspective that I am greatful for and Feel honored to be contemplating on these carefully written ideas. I might be slow at understanding what you guys mean, but I wont give up and appreciate anyone whk challenges my believes. Thats what I'm here for in the first place.
  3. No, I don't mind if you're critical. I'm just curious about something you said that you would not comment on this topic because of the sub-forums? I'm kinda confused, gonna check sub-forums now ^^
  4. Yes, I get it. It is an emotional rollercoater ride and I have experienced it. I just don't see why this is a good thing. Lets say that we are in traffic and it frustrates us. Because we are boundless and cannot differentiate our "self" from traffic. So we suffer away energy towards that which is out of our boundary and out of our controll. We want the traffic to go faster! But nothing happens... That is connectedness with all things, it is similar to borderline disorder in its disability to see boundaries. It is the opposite of father warrio energies and to the extremes of a caring mother with no bounds. This is disharmony in my eyes. Fractured psychology, not integrated personality.
  5. Well that does make sense. Perhaps you speak of courage. Diving into the unknown and returning with faith in one self for having faced the untrustworthy, death or end, wether one failed or not. Doing the good thing in even the most fearful situations. So the unfaithfull or untrust worthy is not necessary a person but can be a situation?
  6. Well, how do you moderate emotions? Thats a thing thats very vague to me aswell. It seems like the sage lives boundless, constantly living at the level of other people constantly in empathy mode and then also supresses his emotions on top of that super over-sensitivity? How does one moderate emotions without supressing them?
  7. So to become open and sensitive does keep us connected in a deeper way, towards the core. But this sounds more like empathy... Not egoless or having no boundaries and accepting other peoples realities ^^ You just taste there realities and come back to your world. However, the translation suggests that your mind become that of other peoples and it doesn't mention anything about a return to own mind. That is not empathy...
  8. What do you mean in the format and where can I find the other chapter. I just copy pasted this from chinapage.com/gnl I thought it woulden't be much diffrent from usual translations. There is also a chinese version on that page I think. Is that what you mean?
  9. So if someone asks me, what food do you like, I respond with I don't know, right? No ego, no identity, no self, no boundaries = borderline disorder? So I know what you mean with becoming boundless and seeing the whole world as me because there is no boundary between me and the world. But this is how an drug addict sees the world. How can it be a good thing not to seperate your self from drugs? Its just an example, drugs is bad m'kay...
  10. I believe that people are wise when they've had a variety of behaviours and experienced them all. This then formed there core wise believes that allows them to act wisely in certain situations where theu gained wisdom. Because wisdom is also relative to the context. The reason people are vague ia because they can't find the core believes that makes them wise to share in the first place. They only see its surface. I believe that core believes are not vague at all, an Tao te Ching is not vague because these all represent core believes to me. Core believes that have been abstracted and simplified from numorous experiences. Core believes anf ideas that are perfectly worded and communicated very densely. So that we understand diffrent things from at diffrent times. Getting closer to its ultimate meaning is only dependant on efficiency with your energy in the time you live. So Yeah I have to see this truth for my self. I can only see this truth if go deep, detailed and unfiltered. To explore all the diffrent meanings possible and extract the definition that brings most wisdom into my life. Alot of responds btw. Very deep and interesting, I'm still not certain about some things however. I'll try and reply as much as I can.
  11. I think the translation is just lame... His mind is the world's mind can be interpreted in two ways. He has no mind and accepts all ideas from other people or he has the main mind and forms realities for other people. Either a baby or masculine macho. I don't get that. Also, how can you not share emotions yet give loving compassion? And Is uncondotional compassion not equal to an infatuation? I would agree if it said to see trusworthyness in the untrustworthy but i do not agree to trust those who are not worthy of your trust. That would be foolish. Lastly, even if you do see trustworthyness in someone who is considered to be untrustworthy by most, it would not translate in you being trustworthy aswell suddenly. No... That would only make you more idealistic.
  12. Be not Defeated by the Rain

"Serving humanity as efficiently as possible sounds like an honorable goal in life" said Praise. "If you desire for such a reality you will contaminate my soul with heat." said water. And so it was decided... Staying in the depth of waters, arising out of water when the opportunity arises to complete a task and disappear before praise recognizes me shall be the code of the samurai. During a particular dark night Praise was walking beside a river as he heared the cry of a woman. He quickly ran towards the fearful voice to spot two criminal scum who were holding the woman with a firm grasp. They were obviously up to something bad. "I've seen your faces, thieves! Leave the woman in peace or it will go hard with you!" shouted Praise with all the confidence he had. The thieves continued business as usual, facing the eye witness. The women ran way, dissapearing in the clouds of mist running toward the city village. Fear striked Praise heart, he ran as hard as he could the other way. The river closed up on him and fear slowly approached Praise with an evil grin. Praise was now face to face with fear. Praise felt a drip of water on his shoulder and noticed a robed person, completely soaked of water, standing right behind him. The thieve on the left was decapitated by another robed person who caught the thieve in his arms to carefully lay the dead body on the ground. As the other thieve ran away the remaining robed person shot an arrow at him, piercing right trough his heart. "Oh my god! I can't thank you enough, for saving my life. Might I know your name? Perhaps I can arrange a price for both of your good deeds." said Praise. The two anonimous robed persons responded only by vaporating into clouds of hot steam to the bewilderment of Praise. It began to rain, each and every drop vaporated on the touch of Praise body. "No, Water! You son of a..." The shock of water stonified Praise, his last words caused water to freeze in a radius of 2 kilometers. The city still lies frozen, untouched, un altered, till the day of its discovey by a little child. His name was Sun. Sun planted the tree of life in the middle of the village. The village is gone, but the tree spread its seeds arounds the world. By Karool Noudak It kinda reminded me of that poem
  13. Great Brain Documentary

Cool thanks. Let me add a documentary. Youtube: Athene's theory of everything Neurology and physics Both, very deep, very interesting. I'm going to listen to radiolab podcast about memory. Memory fascinates me. I love video recorders to capture artificial memory with greatest detail and accuracy possible. Too bad my brain can't do that. When I look at my memory I cannot even recall anything useful from yesterday. While a computer would only take up max 2 terrabyte of space to record your entire life for few dollah. That awesome for self reflection. We can't change our behaviour if we don't notice it if we don't remember it if we don't have good memories etc.
  14. What is the best religion?

No religion is better then the truth. The truth is simple on the surface, complex underneath. We bring its simplicity into our lifes, and witness how its complexity slowly changes our destiny.
  15. Taoist Philosophy - Conversations IV

You have to win the hearts of the people first before changing their minds. Loves endures all. You become connected with your followers. Thus you must learn to connect to maintain influence. I like the story where he chooses to disconnect with his senses in order to find new truth. Then disconnected he returns with no way of sharing his treasure. It happens all the time to me aswell. Either connected with no treasure, or disconnected with treasures. Finding balance there would be great.
  16. Do you think we are Alone in the Universe?

When you try to explain nuclear fusion to an ant, things might end up badly. Communication with other species has never gone well. I might feel sad about the fact that people sometimes worry too much about aliens visiting us while first of all, we have not even been able to make solar energy our primary power source. Secondly, we have not even succeeded in communicating with dolphins, whales, elephants. We have not yet discussed politics and business with cows and chickens. We have never even been able to peacefully live amongst apes and gorilla's. How can we make room for aliens that have technology consisting of power that requires more responsibility then any of our wisest gods could ever dream of having. I say its time for us to pay a visit to the dolphins and whales. They are the real intelligent creatures and they live right here on earth.
  17. What would an all Taoist city look like?

Hmmm... A taoist city would be built by the great mother. Alot of wood, stone, grass, animals, air, water and sun- or moonlight. I don't think she'd built it any other way. Also architecture would constantly change it self to fit the circumstances perfectly each and every time.
  18. Increasing reading speed

I just noticed how I increased my reading speed by trying to remove sub-vocalization. Instead of sound of the word I imagine an image with certain sentences and go over the lines quicker. But its still not easy to go fast. I read really slow according to internet avarage at ~250 words per minute. My max is 150 words per minute. One page? In a small book it might take 2 minutes to do one page. I don't know anyone who can read faster then me though... All my friends are slow readers! Share me the secrets guys. I just know you guys can read alot faster then me.
  19. Increasing reading speed

Yeah, I noticed concentration really has no use when you read slow. It the very essence of being not efficient with your time... I mean I really gotta learn to read another way first then worry about concentration.
  20. Increasing reading speed

Well, that kinda sounds unbelievable. Any case on youtube that shows 10 sec per page? Hwo do I know you speak of truth?
  21. Theft is simply a lack of wisdom, nothing more. There is nothing wrong with stealing, it is quite common. With all the commercials, we are forced to steal. Without theft there would be no police force. Without theft nothing would seem valuable anymore. You must somewhere in your life realize that theft or nontheft really are the same. There is no way out of that virtual prison. Tao goes the way of nature, don't care much for human politics. When a land falls into chaos, the only law that cannot be broken is the law of nature. The reason we cannot break free out of our handcuffs is because of the law of nature, not that of men. We should not limit our freedom with artificial laws and smoke-screen rules that blur out reality. If you do not steal out of fear, you're corrupt. If you steal out of desire, you're corrupt. It goes both ways... If you protect riches out of fear for theft, you encourage theft. If you steal you encourage theft aswell. Theft is made up by humans, it is an illusion that we feed and grow big, it becomes alive. Don't pay much attention to it.
  22. What would be a great thing to commit to memory?

    and/or xD that is hilarious
  23. What would be a great thing to commit to memory?

I like to memorize things aswell, but I really fail at this, no matter how hard I try. As soon as I read something I forget. Tao te Ching by memory would be beneficial I guess. Also remember some great poems. Wisdom that you can use on the go. I have no idea why we should memorize things nowadays... Since the birth of paper, an external memory, we no longer need our memories. Especially now people use technology to store great amounts of information. I'm very curious... Why do you like to memorize things? I like to do it too, but thats just because I'm bad at memorizing. My dream would be to recall with great accuracy; huge amounts of text.
