  1. hi folks

so there are different kabala trees - maybe they are in some sequential order. the one most of you may be familiar with is probably the so called "cordovero"-tree (by moses cordovero).. this one:

    cordovero50rfk.jpg

then theres the "luria"-tree... isaac luria lived around 1600 :)  it looks like this:

    lufiar2qyw.jpg

as you can see, the 'branches' of the tree have different letters assigned to them. so then, the third tree i wish to present is the "abulafia"-tree from abraham abulafia - this one:

    abulafiaeforv.jpg

so we have three different trees:

    alltreeskva77.jpg

(the second one is the "sufi" tree but will not take it into consideration). whats the difference between each one one of them? :) i got the vibe that luria's tree is somehow more 'sophisticated' when used in kabalistic magic

    please do discuss

  2. clarke hudson (http://artsandsciences.virginia.edu/asiainstitute/people/eastasia/wch4b.html) refers in his dissertation ("spreading the dao" https://www.scribd.com/document/329343219/The-Life-and-Alchemical-Teachings-of-Chen-Zhixu) to what he calls "the standard account of daoist alchemy"

it consists basically of 4 steps

    1. laying the foundation of 100 day

    2. refining chi

    3. giving birth to the spirit body (sheng tai)

    4. leap into the great emptiness (through the gate of brahman, at the top of the head ("bai-hui"))

(if the above link doesnt work heres another url https://search.proquest.com/docview/304607092)

  3. hi

i found clues that its basically possible to achieve a state of anesthesia or at least analgesia for a person using (only) acupuncture needles. im interested in this. but there was no explicit info to be found. heres another pic of jonn mumford piercing himself with a needle (in his case kundalini-technique was used though):

    untitled.jpg

(he performed other stunts like this, e.g. putting his tongue at a hot glowing iron rod)

uh, mind providing me with enough info so i can do this too?

After many restarts of reading the book, the best thing I found to do is to read the glossary first and organize all the concepts together (maybe on paper). That way, you wont be confused by what the book is saying. Also, skip the introduction and go straight to C1. Read the Intro after all the other chapters.

i typed the text of the first 10 chapters into my computer and then converted it by a text-to-speech software, so i can hear it when riding the bus :)

i also made a handwritten copy (till chapter 10) ^^

uhh, i dont dare to disclose it to such a person, but.. doesnt the removal of the testicles "kill" your ability to practise alchemy? :(

i mean, fire and water have to mingle with each other, and water is the kidneys (which in turn "are" the (external) testicles)

So I just realized that if you take that literally it means "have sex with guys and identify as a girl".

    no it doesnt

i read it as "have guy friends but stick to your girlfriend (in the end)" (assuming the reader is male). sorry for being rude, but in my estimation the whole point of daoist yoga is about not having intercourse

  7. i did not find a thread like this.

lets just.. drop in here all (url's of) free pdf files and texts and stuff (reading material)

  8. gj551,

I am not sure I have understood your problem.

Have you tried clicking the little printer icon print.png found at the bottom of the webpage when you have opened a thread?

It should give you what you are looking for.

hello bubbles, thank you for your help. your advice is good

but in this thread ( http://thetaobums.com/topic/22912-semen-retention-100-days-and-my-experiences/page-32 ) that print symbol is not there at the end of the page. in this thread it is but in the linked thread it isnt. how can you do this? :)

  9. hello, in wikipedia and in other message boards there is an option 'print version'. it displays to you the thread in simple text format so one can print it more easily without having to have in it the message board graphics. i did not find it :) do you have this option in the message board? please tell, thank you

well, i fathom it isnt there (is it?) .. there are many threads of value. could you implement it..? that would be good. lets discuss this. it would make the difference between reading a long thread and not reading it because you could copy it on your phone then

  10. do you think it may be beneficial, in a magical sense that is in a way that helps or increases your wellbeing, to pluck all the body hair you have except for maybe the one on top of your head? i heard priests in ancient egypt did this, they are said to remove the hair on they eyelashes also. :) im not interested in looks. its just, could it help your health to do this.. O_o not shaving, one is to remove them thoroughly, with root. i dont know how to accomplish this

  11. Side note: related to practice being all of life... I've been intending to run MCO in my dream state recently. Last night, after about a week of sending intention before I sleep, I became lucid during a dream in which I was part man, part tree, running MCO through a large transparent egg in my trunk. I woke up from that so high lol... pure awesome!

mco is good :) please post our success, which points do you use to circulate it up the tu mo and down the jen mo channel? im in favour of your endeavour. they talk about neidan/internal alchemy, so does there exist waidan/external alchemy? does external mean to use things from the outside like plants or some vegetables? theres this ko hung ("ge hong") person. this text has references to ingrediences like "black fat" or cinnabar. get a hold of the lieh hsien ch'üan chuan. it does resemble western alchemy to some degree because he does mention a lot of chemicals like arsenic sulfide or blue alum.

Preparing medicines and elixirs can be referred to as outer practices or weidan as these practices occur outside of the body until they are verified by the ingestion of medicines, herbs, and pills to bring about physical changes within the body
