The world is empty of itself. There is no high or low. Use everyday ordinary situations to dissolve this thing of yours, Trunk. Formal meditation is a temporary expedient. Therefore, clinging to teachings is sickness~ however expedient their methods. Awareness that dissolves isn't reality—this is precisely what must be passed through initially. That is why it cannot dissolve too much. It is personalistic attachment to this too much or too little as a matter of relativity that must be penetrated fully to transcend it. Everything you speak of comes from this conceptual locus of the experiencer and knower. Do admit that Trunk has not gone far enough. I myself am proof that THERE IS NO HIGH OR LOW. Your point is derivative of a level of provisional teaching, Trunk— which is wholly out of context and off-topic on my threads. This is my thread describing that which is the teaching using essence itself with no intermediary. DO NOT EVER FORGET THAT FACT, TRUNK. THIS IS NEITHER TAOISM NOR BUDDHISM, MUCH LESS SOME OTHER KIND. MIND IS ONE. SINCE YOU ARE SO ATTACHED TO your SECTARIAN TEACHING, IT SEEMS THE MERE MENTION OF A LINE FROM A REAL CHAN MAN, WOULD SET YOU OFF ON MAKING A LIST OF PROVINCIAL TERMINOLOGY AMOUNTING TO RELIGION THAT IS NOT ADEQUATE TO FURTHER THAT WHICH IS HELD UP HERE FOR THOSE WITH THE CAPACITY TO BE A BUDDHA RIGHT NOW. If you would like to discuss Padmasambhavism, be my guest… ON YOUR OWN THREAD. Now please note that (at this point in time) not going far enough is not one of your problems. But do consider the possibility that psychological free-associations and projections of half-baked concepts might be. Don't blame yourself too much though, as it is simply one of the risks of "borrowing others words" without knowing the basis from the very start. I'm not talking about that in a philosophical sense at all. I'm talking about your words on this screen now. I don't even LOOK at any threads on this website other than my own. I'll bet that would bore you to tears, that is, Trunk, if you could satisfy yourself with your OWN material derived from your OWN experience. I sat on it for 15 years before talking to anyone about this stuff. How many years have you been writing on borrowed words without you yourself arriving at the basis of the words themselves? At that point, the heart of Padmasambhava would BE yours~ and you wouldn't even need words— his or anyone else's. This is why I say I own them. And so, when I direct them at one such as you, I have the power to make them yours. I would like for you, someday, to own them too.❤︎

Well, ok~ but remember another practical classic taoist saying "that which can be spoken…" The point is that effective gradual self-refinement must acquire the perspective which has no relative psychological locus. Why? It is because self-refinement is a matter of conditioning oneself to the unconditioned— to give the human mentality no respite. One must kick out its crutch no matter how subtle it may be. And for that, one must be able to see. So, here I am to kick the crutch out from under this comfortable nest we have here!! ahhahaaa!!❤︎❤︎ As for lazily savoring the singular flavor, I tend to cling to superbly ungraspable sayings like "East Mountain walks on water." (Not that I have a preference.) Absolutely nothing there to find a way or a place to alight. Who can touch this without gasping on the deathbed of philosophical discussion? It is practically useless~ yet so rich beyond conceivability. Truly, those Chan fellows with the caliber of thoroughgoing prior illuminates such as Yun-men have always been capable of inconceivable observation resulting in titbits which penetrate all the way through without getting hung-up on anything— and carry on, beyond, without ever yet having really moved a hairsbreadth. ed note: add "Who can touch this without gasping on the deathbed of philosophical discussion?" in penultimate paragraph
  3. It is said that a great military general has the breadth of heart to take hearts. Enlightening being is having the heart to take the heart of creation all at once, according to circumstances. The heart is not taken in terms of a motivational desire. The heart of Creation is taken over in terms of the time. The heart of creation is the heart of heaven and earth; essence is total, yet it is accessed by one's own "heart of heaven and earth" via an initial breakthrough named the aperture of the Mysterious Female. From then on, all the elements and processes of alchemy are found therein. Desire is the phenomenal aspect of compassion leading one along precisely, committed to seeing the inevitable end (of each particular energy cycle), which is not up to the situation. No, there is no end, ultimately, as situations are the stuff of eternity …meanwhile all sorts of things keep popping up and fading out. So what does one's commitment to inevitability depend on? It is up to the time, which is a very peculiar thing. It is not linear, and it is repeatable. It can be compressed. It turns over on itself. And it has gaps. It is really a strange thing, to write about changing or not changing in the midst of whatever is changing or not changing as if it matters. It’s not called subtle adaption by mistake. In the final analysis, though, one’s freshness of perspective, ongoing, through thick and thin, is what passes through, and people are carried through along with you. Or, rather, essence is the fundamental expression of Unity with no before or after. In terms of abiding in unity, arrival is perpetual. To say one resides in the highest good is the same as saying, in perpetuity, the result is nonoriginated. Just this abiding in the pivot of aware presence, neither coming nor going, is resting in the highest good. When you go along with changes, it’s the same old thing; not going along with changes, it’s the same fresh energy. Actually, it’s the same energy either way. There is actually something to this bit about immortalism, after all. To speak of it in terms of reversal is just a device. There are no words. Adaption is an unchanging process of alternations, yin to yang, until you die. Circumstances are literally a random inert agent. Pure selfless open sincere desire is the motivation for compassion. What takes the heart is the timing, and the timing is such only by virtue of one’s access to the impersonal awakened real knowledge I call seeing. The Dharma Eye sees through cause without destroying its momentum. This means that one’s active duty to inevitability is determined by the celestial timing visible through the course of events by one’s awakened Dharma eye. This is another meaning of using the false to accrue the true. Situations are necessary to pick out the real by increments in the context of incremental conditions. This is the gradual path en total. We use the gradual aspect of incremental temporality to gather the potential reality of the sudden in order to first, see eternity, then step over it, and continue on in the endless path of refining the immaterial energy body naturally until one’s karmic momentum is worn out like an old shoe. Situations start out barefooted. If you're not barefooted, you are wearing shoes where bare-feet is appropriate, and your basis for interaction is cloyed— further compounding falsity. Already polluted energy from going along with karma by habit concretized by the fallacious personality, is by virtue of carrying the burden of cause (which is ignorance of the false self). The point is that being barefoot doesn't depend on thoughts or actions; it depends on reality— and that cannot be forced. By pure acceptance without enabling clinging energy, conditioned energy is worn away naturally without accumulating more. Eventually, what's left is… bare feet. I hate to say it (not really, heehee), but the personality is insignificant in and of itself, outside of facilitating process within the context of nefarious realms of compounded incremental existence. Why then is it necessary to be able to see the nature of creation as eternity? Because it is a monumental error to conceive of eternity as being of the nature of the celestial, the immortal, the inconceivable. Eternity is the whole of creation. Creation is the dregs. When people can see creation as it is and know that its essential nature is eternal— not celestial, then they will hesitate to get bogged down in its particular aspects. Karma is eternal. Yet one must never forget that it is, above all else, created— so enlightening beings do not work with eternity, they just see it for what it is, and without entertaining self-reflective fascinations, they step over it, and continue on without lingering, without rushing ahead. Continuing on, in terms of presence, is not relative to conditions. It is, rather, that eternity moves on by its own conditional momentum, as awareness itself, has never moved. Reality is neither relative nor absolute~ this being the raison d'être of enlightening activity. Enlightening beings are whole in the midst of karmic cycles coming and going. This is what I mean by continuing on. It is not that one “moves on” and gains “closure”, in terms of situations. “Closure” is the phenomenon of people successfully rationalizing their denial when they cannot rely on the power of ignorance to forget. Earlier I wrote, “Closure is for wimps”. What is the basis of continuing on? Although it is the intent of inherent essential nature presently functioning transcendently in the midst of conditions, it is habitual perspectives of the human mentality hopelessly lost in particular aspects of eternity bound to endless karmic rounds of suffering that stultify the spirit of one’s natural transcendent function. The point of penetrating, activating, and then eventually realizing one’s essential nature is that Eternity can only be transcended by the awakening, exercise and development of the knowledge of the beginningless, of causelessness. One can simply fall into this realization and benefit by it instantaneously for no reason. No reason is what open sincere intent is. Camping out in the unborn results in seeing. It is unborn mind. This your own mind right now, as is. This is just your own functional awareness right now. It is not a matter of philosophy because there is nothing whatsoever to understand. Your real identity is Unborn Mind. Really!! Of course that means nothing to anyone on an intellectual level. And it also has no power for people who are habituated to using awareness in the most limited way imaginable. Due to habituation solely to the personality’s center of reason/talking that conceives sensuality to be the only means of perceiving and relating to particulars, people cannot awaken to the power and freedom that nothing to understand is something literally and figuratively beyond reason. The beauty of intent is that it can be used powerfully, not only where, but by the very (dis)function that reason craps out in the first place. To do that, one must first penetrate causelessness, and set up camp, so to speak. This is the place where one can begin to see. Anyone can understand understanding, yet only a sage can understand not-understanding. Delusion and enlightenment is the same mind whereby the enlightening function can operate freely within delusion, yet delusion is already deluded within delusion, and cannot fathom enlightening perspective in its midst. Truth be told, enlightening perspective has no perspective, as it is the nature of no-mind. When someone doesn’t mind (in the conventional sense), it is not necessarily that they don’t care, it is that there is nothing to understand. This is understanding not-understanding perfectly, as knowledge is a matter of nothing to know. That’s really how it is. It’s “What’s to know?” Penetrating perception based on this what’s to know is reality perceived without bias or inclination in the midst of affairs. Mind is the ever-awakening nature of no-mind aware of its unborn, natural inconceivability functioning beginninglessly and presently in perpetuity. Intellectually biased ignorance must be stripped away in order to see this mind by a long long process of correctly oriented self-refinement. It’s not the equivalent of ego as you might know it, or anti-ego as you might imagine it. If you knew that the real aspect of ego is just a function facilitating the personality of the being that is going to die, you might be able to intuit that the function of your real identity is equally selfless and nonexistent. Perpetuation of ego depends on reason, whereas awakening to and penetrating the function of nonoriginated selflessness depends open sincere intent. Intent’s intent is openly sincere open sincerity. This intent is already inherently in a state of potential until the moment you permanently drop your selfish habitual antics perpetuating the false self and awaken to presence as authentic impersonal spiritual function. Please don’t be hung-up on the personality as you’re stuck with it!! I’m living proof of that. It doesn’t go anywhere. It just takes up its position in service of the autonomous illumined being within, which has never entered the sphere of the created. Nothing changes except a little swap, like musical chairs whereby the personality permanently attains balance naturally, and continues on by not clinging to situations, places, people and things. So, the world at large is not created, while the self-observer (awakened to one’s own unborn awareness) isn’t created as well— and one proves it in everyday ordinary affairs again and again and again. It’s an all-at-once, all-or-nothing proposition (not to discount ones inexorable fits and starts). It is seeing that all things are the nature of awareness, which is unborn. Stabilizing this perspective is the gradual work of self-refinement before and after the sudden. It’s called work because the world doesn’t know… it’s a bitch. Do you think she’d go along with you, if she knew? If she knew, she’d get your ass AND whatever’s going along with it too!! That’s what she already got your ego to do!! hahhahahahhhahahaa!!! Ya gotta cut that thing off (without its knowing) and steal back your inherent presence. AND THAT’S NO JOKE. It is called inconceivable spiritual adaption taking over creation and stealing potential without admitting one’s own power for a reason, it seems. ed note: add "is resting in the highest good" at end of paragraph 5; add the bit about bare feet in paragraph 9; add "Reality is neither relative nor absolute~ this being the raison d'être of enlightening activity" to 12th paragraph; typo in 2nd to last paragraph
  4. Merciii, mon ami❤︎!! BTW, the OP is derived from parts 5 and 6 of a larger article titled Uncreated Potential on wayfairie's tumblr blog. That article was a response to a comment by Bearded Dragon concerning an earlier piece called One's Relationship with Creation, most of which subsequently appeared on this forum under a slightly modified title. ed note: smoochies pour Clarity!!
  5. I do not advise, generally speaking. Those who are best suited to the writings I leave along the way are those who can sense that the recognition of value is the nature of mind itself recognizing its own nature. It is one's own talismanic nature tacitly meshing with the visage of one's own source that is the nature of recognition. The term "mind to mind" is Mind. Many people believe "mind to mind" is a veritable transmission from person to person. There is nothing to impart. There is no other mind. Just sayin'… I am not implying anything at all relative to the comment above. I'm only talking about the nature of the phenomena of a "recognized value", in the context of seeing reality as is, by the activation of mind without dwelling on anything. Having passed through, and having passed through passing through, it is the intimate flavor of Complete Reality one is recognizing by means of one's own inherent intimacy with essence as truly oneself. Of course it is beyond the capacity of intellect to gather it, yet rhetoric is a means to express a recognition of value in oneself. And for that I do appreciate the sincere comment, nestentrie.
  6. There is an ancient taoist fable about a sheepherder boy who transcends the requirements of convention (maintenance of worldly concerns akin to duty), by changing the nature of his duty without violating the basis of what constitutes one’s natural relationship with creation. Yes, one actually has a relationship with Creation. Its activation is the selfless intent of the real human body. One’s intent arrives at an open sincerity of enlightening being by its sustained, unbending quality. This is naturally inconceivable, naturally gradual entry into the nature of Power. Sincere openness beckons the fruition of the selfless intent of the body of reality, which is one’s immaterial center, the locus of one’s aware living potential energy. It has no location. It is Mind. Open awareness is its substance, function, and intent. Sincere openness is the go-between, entering where the elements of the primal organization are not differentiated in the macrocosm nor in the microcosm. It is the most subtle and exquisite vessel of enlightening beings. It is the point where thought arises. It is the door to all marvels. It is just this open sincere intent of one’s real body where the Way alights and wells forth. Enlightening partnership in creation transcends one’s subjectivity to it. In working it, so to speak, one lets go of the small to partake of the great. It is a matter of clarifying the basis of one’s awareness, one’s relationship with awareness, that karmic evolution becomes a partner in oneself, and one is then no longer subject to its changes. Working it is the ability of buddhas, wizards, saints, sages and the enlightening beings of all times. Working its activity is the duty of enlightening being. Self-reflective activity trapped within desire, form and formlessness is the duty of sentient beings. Correct concentration and insight into the nature of Mind and furthermore maintaining a subtle continuous extension of mindful observation on this nature of Mind while functioning adaptively in ordinary affairs eventually develops into an unbending impersonal intent of open sincerity harmonizing with the Way. Harmonizing with the Way and its Power is making a bid with its Power, since the essence of the Way is the nature of human being. Through a long process, self-refinement reaches a natural harmony with the Way, and one’s bid is recognized as a resonance attuned to its Power. From that point on, enlightening being operates by a selfless fundamental reversal of the nature of one’s relationship with Creation hitherto unknown to ordinary people, who, furthermore, have no idea what constitutes their own nature. Ordinary people follow the light of creation within personalistic (selfishly) attuned ignorance, whereas enlightening beings turn the light around to align themselves with its universal undifferentiated source of illumination. The source isn’t anywhere else but here and now. It’s you; though you are not it. Being here and now without employing psychological patterns habitually differentiating before and after, self and other, is already the light turned around. The terminology is only words, not the reality. The work of self-refinement is the dissolution of the mental patterns veiling authentic presence. Negotiating the viscidities of here and now is enlightening being; it is neither different nor the same as before and after, self and others because real knowledge is void of habitual mental patterns of discriminatory consciousness. This is why the nonpsychological is spiritual. This is not a matter of sudden illumination, nor does its effect depend on the sudden. The spiritual is the very nature of the sudden. Therefore, the work of enlightening activity is the activation of the nature of the sudden operating in the midst of the gradual. Not only is this the nature of buddhahood, it is the nature of one’s own unborn awareness right now in the light of your eyes. It’s Mind through and through. This is not a meditative exercise. One does not see light!! The light does not look like lights. Even ordinary light is essentially immaterial. How can the light of awareness be conceived? If you see lights, and instead want to see reality, stop whatever it is you are doing. ”Wonders” derivative of the psychological storehouse are not the light. Seeing the light is its reversal. As such, all things are just this light. The light looks just like things. Its reversal is the nature of reality alone, i.e.: it is things, yet things are not it. Seeing reality is the basis of not being subject to creation. The alchemic manuals state that “whatever can be seen is not to be used; only use that which cannot be seen.” The medicines are immaterial. Fusing them permanently in terms of the spiritual potential of the being that is going to die is the work of alchemy. Those who work with material and plasmic elements will come to an impasse. Clarifying the basis of one’s awareness, one’s relationship with awareness, karmic evolution becomes a partner in oneself, and one is no longer subject to its changes. All things reverting to potential in oneself doesn’t change anything. That’s the point of transcending changes. Changes aren’t potential. Only creation changes. The business of stealing potential is absorbing the stability inherent in one’s essential unborn awareness by virtue of and in spite of things. Partnership with creation is embodying the function of fundamental unity which is the light. The stability of illumination is your nature, which is changeless. One’s partnership with creation is proven by seeing Change. One sees Change by not following its changes unawares. How difficult is that? How difficult is it to not follow thoughts unawares? Not being subject to creation is before the first thought. That’s how close reality is. Before the first thought is Mind. Observing this Mind, how important is correct concentration and insight into the nature of Mind? Furthermore, how is maintaining a subtle continuous extension of mindful observation on this nature of Mind while functioning adaptively in ordinary affairs important to turning the light of this Mind around? In seeing the light, one partakes of the nature of the light and does not entertain acquisitive, speculative relationships with things based on patterns reifying the multifarious personality’s karmic imprint. Why? Because enlightening beings see that things are not absolute in terms of the nature of creation (which is karmic), in turning the light around. It is not a matter of belief, or faith. One does not act as if…(?) Reality is the way it is already. Reality does not depend on seeing. Seeing depends on you. If you see reality, then you do not abide in karmic energy, and the totality of the being that is going to die is the nature of enlightenment. In turning the light around, things revert to unrefined potential in terms of enlightening beings seeing reality. This is how one “steals potential”— it is just a matter of (one’s operating the light in reverse that is) not partaking in the created aspect of karmic evolution whereby one “absorbs” potential. It is not that one takes anything, or that things themselves miraculously stop acting like things overflowing in their foolishness, poisoned, deluded. It is simply seeing for oneself that there is nothing whatsoever to take (in terms of transcendent relationship in the created), that one “frees” potential inherent in any given situational event and then stores it away in secrecy void of intellectualism. The upshot is that one accumulates the subsequently purified primordial energy for enlightening evolution by oneself for the purposes of one’s duty, carried out as a highly-refined relationship with creation based on its (the created’s) uncreated potential. It is found neither in oneself nor in others; it is itself in Reality alone.

  8. The Meaning of No Meaning

dawei wrote: I call it seeing reality. It is mind. It is your own everyday mind without the personality's chatter. allinone calls it samadhi, which is a traditional moniker of just this mind activated without dwelling on anything. In the sutras, it is described as a sustained meditation state. Perhaps it is… no doubt in the beginning of one's awakening to nonspychological awareness, it may seem that way. What is very important, at this juncture, is to avoid clinging to impersonal awareness as a conscious state dependent on the self. Its manifestation and development is entirely dependent on the situation itself and one's dismissal of intellectualism and rumination pertaining to self-reflective thought-patterns. I considered it a state of grace, in that I knew it wasn't a factor of identity (or rather all of it, including wavering conditioned states in the midst of situations and including the situations themselves, were no longer seen as real). In terms of this particular samadhi being a special state of consciousness, that is a teaching device, in that one ought to be sensitive to shifts in the subtlety of awareness in the context of ordinary situations being one's direct connection with reality. The single-minded aspect which allinone brought up is the strength of concentration maintaining an authentic perception as the focus of authentic practice. Getting back to allinone's comment pertaining to how can you tell what's real?, the ancients said that absolutely none of it is real, not one shred. Mind, alone, is real. Practice is using creation to see essence. This is accomplished by nondoing. Ultimately, and pragmatically, it is just mind, aware, functioning independently of conditions. I don't want to contribute to anyone's sense that just this mind is anything extra. What is extra is habitual patterns constituting the human mentality perpetuating themselves unbeknownst to the being that is going to die. The work of self-refinement is due to this extra bit of habit energy usurping the authority and inherent capacity of enlightening being. A knowing sets this function apart somehow. It is knowing. Mind is one. It is not a separate knowing. One's own knowing, independent of yet within the context of conditioned involvements, is seeing reality. Some people have special perceptive and intuitive powers growing out this basic capacity, whose functional attributes are independent of seeing one's nature no different than my describing enlightening activity as independent of seeing one's nature. Why? Mind is itself the seat of all wonders— the absolute perspective is just a point outside of time, person, place. Mind. For me, its functional manifestation is just spontaneous impersonal sensing and response, in terms of adapting to ordinary situations. Just the basic function of and conditions for seeing reality is all I endeavor to describe in my writing. ed note: add "This is accomplished by nondoing." at end of 4th paragraph; add 6th paragraph

  10. The Meaning of No Meaning

There's no telling. If you are following, it's not real. If you know it's not real, that's reality. 11. Strange and August Ways

The secret brilliance of one's transcendent nature is an inherently robust and rustic capacity for impersonal acceptance of the impersonal reality of things consistent with karmically generative formal multiplicity. Unity isn't just the perspective of the absolute. But paying lip-service to reasonable and logical notions of Universal Good is just a matter of intellectualism. The power of inherent buddha-nature is literally your own eyes right now. It is a pity that people cannot wake up. Eternity is just this fathomless multiplicity in a word, in a thing, in a lifetime, in a universe. It is fascinating, but so what? The secret of one's inherent transcendent nature is awakening to reality as the authentically complete acceptance of what is as is regardless of circumstances. This does not admit of fascination rooted in the particular nor the vastness of space. Fascination in one is fascination in the totality. Why? There is no end to the one fascinated nor the one fascinating. They are the same. Ultimately, there is nothing to differentiate between self and other. Acceptance of the one is acceptance of totality. It's already you. There is no need to linger in fascinations comprising the nature and situational manifestations constituting eternity. This is the seductive quality of the killing energy of the karmic matrix. One's narcissistic relationship with its creative multiplicity cannot be rationalized romantically and emotionally as wonder because it is really paralyzing numbness compounding moment by moment. When you see reality as yourself objectively, impersonally, you transcend both at once. There is no way to transcend one or the other since both are the essential manifestation of Suchness. So it makes sense that subsequent to seeing reality, there is nothing to linger on. If you consider yourself awakened and you still find yourself lingering on phenomena, it would do well to reconsider your assessment of the nature of self-awakening. The habit of lusting after glinting potential in objects is the lure of one's own residual killing enregy no different than the nature of creative evolution. No one has lost their aptitude for applying their tiger-eyes, but how many of us have the effective use of our buddha-eyes? This is due to acquired energy. Acquired energy IS our tiger-eyes. Arriving on the path of prior illuminates in actuality is in looking back to observe the aftermath of stepping over the whole of eternity. It's the description of presence being where you're at beyond the influence of karmic fascinations. Eternity is creation, not your nature. Seeing reality is the perspective of Unity perpetually awaiting the timing of evolution. Yes, this is the path of prior illuminates where the nature of the gradual has transformed from effort reversing the flow of going along to a spontaneous perpetual acceptance of the incipient upwelling at the pivot of awareness: this is the aperture of the Mysterious Female. It's not a place relative to anything. Aperture is a codeword for the perspective characteristic of the nature of its seeing. Its seeing is characteristic of Unity: mysterious/yang; female/yin. In stepping over eternity one assumes the characteristic of unified awareness. It does not depend on sudden enlightenment. In other words, the function of enlightening being is not dependent on awakening to its essential nature, which is already as it is. Even awakening isn't dependent on anything; it is just one's reaching a tipping-point in aggregating the critical mass of potential severing the root of the karmic compulsion to act. Your nature is the nature of awareness, which is not created. That which is not created comprises the path of prior illuminates having stepped over the whole of eternity. Eternity is about 100mm wide~ the distance between your own two eyes; it's just a trickle, really. REALLY. JUST STEP OVER IT. But it is first necessary to see it as it is. In order to do that, one must be able to see reality in the first place. How? This is made possible by the breadth of the secret brilliance of one's transcendent nature being the inherently robust and rustic capacity for impersonal acceptance of the impersonal reality of things consistent with karmically generative formal multiplicity. It's already you, right now— forget it already— just be done with it for all time!! Be done with fascinations forever glinting in the unfathomable depth trickling at the juxtaposition of the end of the road of universal acceptance and the timing of letting go. When you yourself become the crossroads of before, after, acceptance and release presently and perpetually arising at its creative incipience, your perspective is the impersonal subtle observation witnessing the spark of the totality of fascination by virtue of each situation in its time without attachments. The taoist alchemical term, stealing potential, is witnessing this spark, over and over and over in actual everyday ordinary situations. This is not wonderful at all— it's just stepping over eternity— stepping over it means you do not entertain personal speculation in its multifarious permutations. In stepping over eternity, you have gathered the polluted unrefined elixir. Seal this away in secrecy void of intellectualism and rumination. This is the visage of the all-at-once perpetually in the midst of the gradual, embodied as the function of your own enlightening being. Don't make the mistake of thinking you do this. It is simply a matter of witnessing your having passed through a situational evolution that has no power to touch you. When the time arrives, it is not a matter of coming or going, movement or stillness. "Passing through" is just a figure of speech. When it arrives, there is already nothing left. Actually, in terms of arrival, the Unborn is refreshed. This is the spiritual power of one's subtle operation transcending yin and yang in terms of created cycles of karmic evolution. It is simply a matter of seeing the nature of sameness. As I said above, there is no end to the one fascinated nor the one fascinating. They are the same. Ultimately, there is nothing to differentiate between self and other. Acceptance of the one is acceptance of totality. "Stealing potential" is the spontaneous transformation of energy from its subsequent state to its primal state within you in terms of your functional abiding in the nature of selfless Unity within the evolution of times, places, situations and events. I'm sorry if it sounds like spiritual mumbo-jumbo, but it's just how it is and no one knows why. If you know it is the way it is in its inconceivability, then you partake of the transcendent nature of the real in the knowledge that there is nothing at all to know. And that is why you do not entertain fascinations: since there is, in fact, nothing to know, why on earth act in complicity with fascinations in the first place?!! poofs! Suddenly, it appears as it ever was, whatever it was …amounting to nothing. Just step over in one stride and abide in the illuminated as you were without beginning. Until this attainment is re-enacted for all eternity and becomes the perpetual alternation of one's practice, how can one be said to be free of mundanity while in its midst? The strange has no power over the August Way of perpetually refreshing primal Mind. That fact is not good or bad. Even so, it is by virtue of the formation of the strange that the August is manifest formlessly by the subtlety of enlightening observation. Seeing this is made possible by not tarrying over fascinations of the formal. Seeing reality as it is without attachment to objects, people, situations and events is dispensing with fascinations relative to the formal. Again, until this attainment is re-enacted for all eternity and becomes the perpetual alternation of one's practice, how can one be said to be free of mundanity while in its midst? Clearly, it is in fascination with the spark of strangenesses that one becomes enamored of bondage with its nature, which is karmic. See this sickness for what it is and wake up to its killing energy. Once you wake up to reality, and maintain a consistency of subtle observation over the aperture of awareness for a long, long time, you will find that the allure of the strange has no power over the August Way of perpetually refreshing primal Mind. What makes things seem strange and alluring is personal ignorance of the essential nature of reality, which is neither different nor the same. Just this is already your nature, so don't enact complicity with mundane fascination to personally create entanglements with objects, people, situations and events where they never existed to begin with. ed note: change "Goodness" to "Good" in 2nd paragraph; hot-rod 7th paragraph; typo in 8th paragraph; add "…within the evolution of times, places, situations and events" at end of 19th paragraph

That and the subsequent narrative are indicative of much honesty, not to mention insight, Yasjua. I wouldn't give what you are referring to as courage a second thought, in my estimation. You have all you need to continue this. I dare say one's "tying up loose ends" is simply a matter of treading the gradual path of self-refinement. There is no finality in this regard, as the sudden and the gradual are one without beginning. Before and after in terms of realization are a formality. Reality is a singularity~ it is mind. Just continue as you were. There is no one to accomplish this tying up. The world is unravelling as you meet it intimately; ultimately there will be/is nothing left to loosen or gather. In going on, it is only creation itself fully displayed. In terms of Unity, essential stable awareness has no coming or going whether in holding firm or releasing in the midst of ordinary affairs. The quote I pasted from your post above is absolutely where it's at. This aspect has no end. With open hands, accept your function and take the forward step, gathering or releasing according to the time. May I be so bold as to recommend a small thin volume called Cultivating the Empty Field, by Hongzi (1091~1157). Translated by Daniel Leighton ISBN: 0-86547-475-3 (pbk); 0-86547-474-5 (hdbk). It helped me a lot, at this stage. Also, my response in some places has the flavor of Hongzi's message. ed note: add book reference
  13. The Meaning of No Meaning

The quote you gathered as <snipped> (above) was meant to be read and contemplated just as you did, Brian. How wonderful!!❤︎
  14. The Center has no Location

The words left behind by prior illuminates are indeed talismans for those who themselves step over the whole eternity of created fascinations and leave them gleaming, thereby to enter the path that follows the same dusty footsteps of the ancients, along an endless gradual incline. Evidences of efficacy leading up to and including the sudden are all such as they are, as simply as they are— and they should all be seen through no different than anything else, and passed through as they are. What is most direct and imperative is to apply the experiential resonance of the body of wordless unified awareness in terms of adapting to everyday ordinary situations. Though it is completely natural to meet situations spontaneously, if one cannot act on knowledge, it is as if one had none. ed note: change "left" to "passed through" in the second paragraph
  15. I took the kernel of this topic from a section of the preceding thread as it had a curious direction of its own, in terms of describing the subtle spiritual operation of adaption in everyday ordinary situations. *********************************************************************** Reality is neither emptiness nor formality; so what can be grasped? Savoring the singular flavor in the midst of worldly situations, there is no determining where the self begins, therefore there is no determination based on the existence of the self-made personality’s historicity in terms of residual situational responsibility. This is not some other state; just as you are, you simply accept your spiritual function with open hands (grasping neither bias nor inclination) and take the forward step beyond the edge of conformity without anyone’s knowledge. One’s spiritual function is just nonpsychologically aware recognition of the present situation requiring no thought or action and extending this presence subtly in time without thinking about it. It’s your mind not following thoughts. Eventually, after a long time, this function will stabilize in the midst of affairs, while the petty human mentality atrophies. Enlightening response is precise in terms of the situation’s potential, independent of emotional or personality issues, because enlightening being is unified within the context of the situation by our potential essence. Potential is whole; each individual is an absolute totality of unity within and without the created as its undifferentiated potential whether people know it or not. Ultimately, the absolute does not depend on conditions at all. Yet by virtue of specific conditions in time, creation is the nexus of spiritual transformation in terms of real human beings not going along with fascinations in karmic evolution based on their nonpsychological awareness of the knowledge of potential in ordinary situations. Though one is naturally and personally committed in the evolution of situations, one’s functional identity is impersonal. Impersonality being the nature of seeing is the same as the freedom of uncreated potential essence. But what we see is unrefined essence. Seeing it is the first step in refining it into the medicines of the elixir of immortality. The hermit lives in the city, using the polluted to refine the self. There is no self-refinement divorced from conditions. Conditions are whereby the activation of one’s own unrefined potential constitutes refinement in the midst of the worldly. Unrefined potential is another way to say karmic energy. The whole milieu of existence is just this unrefined potential. No man is an island. The pattern of enlightening process is activating unrefined potential by seeing it with nonpsychological awareness void of the selfish perspective of the false personality of the being that is going to die. Recognizing potential at the onset engenders a situation. All people do this all the time positing their psychological projections unawares. Recognizing potential is natural, yet few see it (catch it) with their instantaneously fluid nonpsychological Unborn mind— and even fewer are able to effectively sustain the subtle awareness indefinitely. Going along with conditions using nonpsychological awareness, one watches the arising of polluted energy (unrefined potential) in the course of events. One sees this energy because it is virtually oneself to the extent one is subject to the conditioned energy of the situation, yet it is seen in the evolution of the situation as myriad things act in concert. Because the situation is not a separate existential reality, and potential is the totality’s essence, it is possible to conjure the essence of the real from within the false by that same subtle concentration that extends the continuity of one’s spiritual function of nonpsychologically aware recognition of the present situation requiring no thought or action. Through subtle spiritual observation, the arising of the natural killing energy of the yin convergence is seen. When this natural occurrence peaks, this is when spiritual adepts withdraw with the total unrefined potential energy of that situation intact and hide it away in secrecy void of intellectualism. It is not a matter of doing; it is a matter of seeing. Sages never move on. Closure is for wimps. Wizards have the heart to take hearts. Why? Because the world is verrrry greedy and it wants your ass; all of it, every time— even though it does nothing with it except kill it in the end. It uses the whole of creative evolution to accomplish this. So, not only do enlightening beings not go along with this scenario— they reverse it and take it all the way back to its source. Do you? And why do I ask? I ask because the most difficult aspect of spiritual alchemy is in the aftermath of stealing potential. After withdrawing the unrefined potential from the matrix of the creative one must seal it away without so much as a spark or the entire (firing) process of nondoing leading up to the prior achievement is in vain. The experience of sudden enlightenment is no different other than it being the accomplishment of the major cycle. This is the reason for the taoist alchemic manuals stressing the importance of the period of ten months incubation of the elixir pill after it has crystalized, in order to secure its maturation after it has congealed into the pill of immortality. It happens over and over in the lesser cycles indefinitely. This is what self-refinement is in terms of the firing process. Those who see this are able to adapt with their (the whole situational) immaterially inert potential intact (which is the totality of a given situational evolutionary quality in this context). Those who do not see this, gain the kinetic energy through bondage to karmic historicity of ordinary delusional existence based on the circumstantial identity such a person sees as itself in its ignorance. Potential is by virtue of the situation, but it is not the situation at all. Situations are the inert ingredient, whereas potential is impersonal essence. Look at it this way: either people are keyed on the karmic reality from the perspective of the personality or they are turning the light of creation around to shine on its primal illuminated impersonal source. Though the light is the same, most people are following their created birth/death scenarios while ignorant of reality by going along with the karmic momentum of delusional creation, whereas the few turn the light of creation around to follow it in reverse in terms of their immortal unborn essential nature. The light is the same: ordinary ignoramuses go along with it, whereas enlightening beings turn the light around to shine back on its source. In order to reverse the light, one must first stop, or rather employ a special kind of perpetually open-ended waiting while allowing one’s habitual karmically-oriented psychological momentum to die by one’s own inherent enlightening inertia. It is not a matter of waiting at all— it is a matter of conducting oneself with sincere open impersonal intent in the midst of worldly situations over and over and over without end. How else would one arrive at the endless? I could be wrong in terms of physics, but mass/time/energy equals gravity/momentum in terms of alchemy. Gravity and momentum are not desirable if you want to fly aloft or dive into the depths according to the timing of situational potential. Transcendence is in not going along with creation; that is, at the right time, one acts (or not) at will, without a moment’s notice, with selfless precision— and no one can stop you. It is not a matter of one’s own power or anticipation. The absence of psychological momentum is the effect of spiritual inertia by the power inherent in one’s unified potential within any given situation before the first thought. Inertia is another word for nonresistance. Nonresistance is the nature of enlightenment, which is the Virtue of Power. I am referring to The Virtue of the Receptive. Nonresistance isn’t relative to karmic energy, it is the doppelgänger of the source of spiritual energy of subtle adaption. Nonresistance is the vehicle for what is referred to as the body outside the body. It is NOT another body, nor does one direct it. Stability at the Center is the immaterial body of awareness, which has no location. I refer to it as the doppelgänger to emphasize one’s intimate familiarity of inherent unity as the substance and function of the spiritual effect of abiding in the Center, the immaterial body of awareness, the source of incipience of potential, the impulse of living impersonal energy which has no location. It is nothing but you alone, yet, like a twin otherness, it is not you. Furthermore, it is not a thing— there is only the spiritual function of transformation in the midst of the temporal. It is not wonderful, but is simply natural enlightening qualities beyond conceptual ramifications. Surely it is beyond convention. This is why I say you do not rely on your own power. I have heard tell that there are buddhists having several of these bodies: well, this ain’t any of those. Why? Because this one isn’t even one. One’s sincere open intent gathers the virtue of the receptive. When Power is replete and the celestial timing arrives, one grabs the “cubic centimeter of chance” by seeing it. This is the proper order of going through “endless transformations of yin and yang”. It gets back to “Response is precise in terms of the situation’s potential independent of emotional or personality issues because enlightening being is unified within the context of the situation and its potential. Potential is whole; each individual is an absolute totality of unity within potential.” These are just words, people. Those who get here will know how it is for themselves. The subtle consistency of reality isn’t based on anything beyond an inherent incipience with respect to the present situation itself in terms of potential, the very root of sameness within difference which is what seeing reality is. Acting or not, in accordance with the timing of reality, one partakes of the Supreme Vehicle, in terms of Suchness, by virtue of one’s awakened Dharma Eye.
  16. Sorry, but a bum just asked why deci is the way she is. I've been thinking it's time for another bump of my old It's about Me thread, but this may serve better. I'll try not to flatter myself too much as the PM suggested that I might actually have some real understanding!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeheehee!! It's so sincere… this is a wonderful letter. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it!! If you have a sufficient affinity with reality you will eventually be able to see through all of this at once. You say that I seem to have real understanding. Don't take this notion for granted. Others such as you have done so themselves, but are unable to divorce themselves from social concerns to explore it intimately. One must be audacious in this regard. Either way, there are no survivors. Do you have any idea how you can come to that vague conclusion while others have spent their entire time here (and preceding forums) wondering why I refute the complacent pastime of recreational speculation on the philosophical treatment of the classics transmitting Complete Reality left behind by enlightened people for the purpose of keeping the real knowledge alive? And why would I? Well, because there are a few who are ready for entry into the inconceivable. I have to find them, and honesty is the best disguise. People think I am outrageous and delusional until something deep inside them switches and then they spontaneously see what my deal is about. They see it's not my deal. To answer my question directly, you sense reality in the aspect of myself that resonates in you. Just focus on that and let the rest fall away from now on. It's an act I didn't script. It's just the way it seems to be, based on circumstantial conditions and the selfless potential inherent in this very situation called taobums as it unfolds. To answer you directly: there is no expanding one's understanding of the tao. One can only enter its mystery which is one's own inconceivable nature. It is not a moral imperative. It is a fabulous mystery of mysteries. It is already as it is: complete, without origination; it's you now. In Jesus' parlance, its effect by virtue of the source's power is to live outside of bondage to karma which he called the kingdom of god. Do you know what Jesus said is necessary to enter the kingdom of god? He said, that you must give up your life to enter the kingdom of god. And what constitutes the life you must give up? All that is required is to forget the mind that thinks it exists. All else will develop naturally. Innocence is inherent, which is selflessness, the nature of awareness. Do you believe it is easy to forget this mind that thinks it exists? There is no understanding it. Period. It is the way it is for no reason and nobody knows why. I am so outrageous in order to cut through the guff and to keep the riff-raff (those too thick to see the real but just smart enough to get in the way) at bay. I'm not here to gather people together, but to spy out those who have affinity. How else would you notice me? Not by my hiding behind convention you wouldn't. It is necessary for you to approach me by virtue of your own recognition of an affinity with reality. Your own sincere openness to the wonder of it all is just it. You carry this out on your own, independently. I am not a teacher. I just see reality. I do hide in plain site in real life— but not here!! Self refinement is the process of eliminating the habitual patterns of the human intellect which does nothing but seek to understand things on ITS terms. Reality must be dealt with on its terms, not the self-reifying intellect's position. There is no should in this focus of intent. Because reality is not a thing, there is no position to understand in terms of that which has no position to begin with. Reality is beginningless. That is not a matter of time. It's uncreated. Tao is your own aware potential being. You can't understand that. It is only possible to arrive at the basis of your own nature and see this ineffabiity as yourself before time even as it is right now. Forget about my appearances. It's just a spontaneous affair that effectively lets all hell break loose from time to time to sort out the riff-raff. It doesn't matter to me at all. If the owner of this website dug my presence, it would be an entirely different scene, but he resents it, and so do others who believe that I'm using this site for my own gain as they are themselves using things for their own gain and they are so sure that I think like them. I'm not playing the same game— but it's not within the ken of the intellectual mental capacity to comprehend my purpose. It isn't a matter of understanding, as I have told you. Since Complete Reality can't be expanded on, one must endeavor to enter its fathomless mystery at the expense of one's own puny false identity. It's the deal of the century. Buddhahood is just spontaneously seeing reality as is without thoughts reflecting an existential self, plain and simple. It can become natural after a long long time, hence the need for self-refinement leading to and progressing further in the aftermath of sudden realization. There is no end to its profundity. A lifetime is a puny affair, but that's the way it is. One just enters reality audaciously without thoughts of what if. I didn't start out this way here, but NO ONE here has seen their nature and is able to describe it at all. Period.— I have and I do. But my sense of FUCK IT has developed out of having to blow the dim-wits out of the literalist philosophical complacency that runs amok here, just to get them to realize that we're not even discussing the same reality. Why? So a few people will recognize their own sense of inconceivability in themselves and begin to enter it themselves. My writing is a different story. It is a spontaneous free-flowing expository writing based on enlightening experience, both gradual and sudden, and my focus is in its application in terms of ordinary affairs— since that is how I came to experience it myself in the first place. I have done in-depth study and carried out practical gradual and transcendent experience over several decades in Nagual Shamanism, Complete Reality Taoism and Chan Buddhism without identifying with teachers, teachings or traditions. The Tao isn't taoist. I call people out for reasons that you may come to find out yourself. I make no apologies for it. ed note: typos
  17. To study the Buddha way is to study oneself. To study oneself is to forget oneself. To forget oneself is to be enlightened by the myriad dharmas. To be enlightened by the myriad dharmas is to bring about the dropping away of body and mind of both oneself and others. The traces of enlightenment come to an end, and this traceless enlightenment is continued endlessly. The Buddha said to refer everything to the self. Most people consider this to mean conceptual consideration by intellectualism, holding the self mentioned in the Buddha's powerful statement as the self propped up and perpetuated by this same intellectual reasoning being the seat of karmic bondage. If it were what the Buddha meant, how could that have any power? Any ignoramus refers everything to himself from birth to death. Who has ventured to ponder what the Buddha meant by this revelatory pronouncement into the nature of one's true being in terms of correct study of the self? Taoism states that it is necessary to work with what is the same. Sameness is essence. Essence is the self. Life is other. One already has this immaterial essence. That is why buddhism says to see essence on your own, then see a teacher. Taoism says to use essence to call life back from another's house. Essence is one's own aware nature. Life is real potential, real knowledge. This is why it is necessary to deal effectively with ordinary situations impersonally by activating impersonal nonpsychological essential awareness to see through situations and gather the unrefined potential inherent in situations by unminding, forgetting one's intellectual and emotional consciousness in the midst of ordinary affairs. To study the Buddha way is to study oneself means that activating one's own unborn awareness, empty of relative cause, is the basis to conduct oneself in the midst of affairs by subtle observation, subtle concentration that does not use intellectual interpretations to rationalize self and other. This is true study resulting in forgetting oneself. To study oneself is to forget oneself does not refer to an instance of sudden enlightenment. Forgetting oneself is activation of the unborn mind that sees without calling habitual perspectives relative to the personality of the false conditioned karmic identity. True study of the real self is activation of the selfless self. This is the authentic practice of forgetting oneself. The effect of authentic practice in the midst of ordinary affairs is studying the real self without removing the world. This is enlightening activity. When Dogen says, "To forget oneself is to be enlightened by the myriad dharmas.", it means effective practice is carried out by seeing the world as oneself. In one heightened experience during a preliminary 1000 day cycle, I awoke to the awareness being such that the overwhelming perspective was one of "it (the entire worldly situation) is just me". In other words, there was no me to speak of constituting an existence separate from all the elements and timing aggregating to define the evolution of a great cycle. The situational evolution was such that its pressure-cooker reality was just what it was with no reflective perspective on others struggling as others separate from myself. Its inconceivably psychological and emotional brutality was simply the conditions under which I found myself, and each cycle within this cycle resulted in the same open-ended basis of times alternating successively without a break. The myriad dharmas are simply conditional phenomenal unreality, but they are all there is to work with. It is by virtue of the karmic matrix that there is the context for self-refining enlightening activity. One's sense, being real knowledge of true reality, nurtured by essential aware purity of impersonal open sincerity permeates myriad dharmas. Though it is oneself, it is not one's own. This is because the nature of the universal is itself aware nonbeing. The totality of reality is thus. This is how enlightenment by the myriad dharmas is forgetting oneself. In forgetting, the myriad dharmas become oneself. "To be enlightened by the myriad dharmas is to bring about the dropping away of body and mind of both oneself and others", is arrival of cessation, the absolute, seeing one's naturre, seeing one's original face. Upon culmination of the great cycle, experience of nonorigination, the empty kalpa, where no buddha can reach you is attained. Nothing further can be said. This is where the matter of life and death is finally finished, and one has completely thrown away all knowledge: this is the absolute of the homeland of nothing whatsoever. In his last line Dogen states that, "The traces of enlightenment come to an end, and this traceless enlightenment is continued endlessly." In the aftermath of the sudden, one reeks of enlightenment. This must be worn off, washed off, rinsed completely away. This is why I say that the "vertical must be dissolved before one can make use of it". Alchemic manuals say that once one has used the true lead (real knowledge), one must then get rid of it. "Having used lead to refine mercury into the gold pill of immortality, one then gets rid of the lead". Dogen's "Traces of enlightenment" is identification with the experience of the foregoing achievement clinging to essential aware nature in the aftermath of complete perfect enlightenment. Taoist alchemical manuals state that "openness must then be emptied". "One overturns the polar mountain, shatters space, sublimates oneself physically and spiritually and enters the tao in reality, planting lotuses in fire, going through endless transformations". This is the meaning of "and this traceless enlightenment is continued endlessly." Hakuun Yasutani states in his commentary of Dogen's Genjokoan on this section, "…that since one has with great effort become the original buddha [in selfless sudden illumination], from here the work of the buddha begins." Attaining further enlightenment upon enlightenment in terms of endless transformations of subtle operation within Suchness, one becomes a person deluded within delusion: enlightenment being no different than delusion. This is the expression of the activation of one's selfless enlightening being where there is a body outside the body. It is just nonbeing within being. This is the significance of the taoist term, Complete Reality, and also the source of the ancient taoist teaching tradition that has endeavored to keep this knowledge alive.
  18. Studying oneself is the Buddha way

Steve has a point that should encourage those who struggle with doubts… But though it is possible for those having penetrated a practical experiential basis in the real such as Steve can see how it is possible to apply Dogen's elevated living words on multiple levels of understanding, there is only one mind which all levels of experience have in reference to recognition of one's being that is nonoriginated. Therefore, in terms of this mind, and in terms of effective and immediate wordless insight by those whose practical work of self-refinement is real, there are no levels. What is the mind of the nonoriginated self the Buddha says to refer everything to? It is the mind that does not think. One's own awareness not construed by the thinking mentality is immediate wordless insight. Just this mind is the Unborn. When wordless insight is present, don't think about it— in developing a subtle continuity of unminding concentration in the midst of everyday ordinary situations by open-minded wordless stable insight one enters into the only kind of practice worthy of the name. The Unborn is truly all there is. When you get this, just don't let it turn into other states. After a long, long time of stability in resting in the Unborn, eventually there is awakening to reality as is which finally obliterates one's uncertainty and doubt. This mind is the same in all sentient beings be they buddhas or ordinary deluded people. But "only those who cultivate themselves to conform to essence can direct the course of nature and not be caused to wax and wane by nature". It is all well and good that all sentient beings have this and are this enlightenment already, but even for those who have seen essence, their original face, if they cannot avail themselves of this knowledge, it is the same as if they had no knowledge. Bankei never wore out his unborn mind. He just told ordinary folk the same thing over and over without ever changing his story until the day he died that one simply must apply one's own everyday ordinary unborn mind by not turning it into anything else by compulsions following thoughts based on selfish perspectives relative to the personality that thinks. The galloping mind is the scourge of human being. Just don't let the unborn awareness perpetually present without beginning turn into other states by thinking unawares. It is thinking unawares that carries one away from the perpetually pristine unborn mind. Don't stop this thinking mind— just don't follow it unawares. When you let the human mentality go on without you, the unborn is already just your true self activated in terms of the capacity of impersonal objective observation. That's your mind. As for those who cultivate themselves to conform to essence— it is just resting in the Unborn as all things act in concert. This is the place where one sees Return. Return is just the celestial arising from within the mundane. Those who see the spontaneous arising of the celestial see the source of Change, and therefore do not go along with change. It is not a matter of mundane or elevated aspects differentiating people. Those who can rest in the Unborn for an instant are buddhas for an instant. Those who rest in the Unborn for a lifetime are buddhas for a lifetime. It's only just now. This mind is the same in all sentient beings be they buddhas or ordinary deluded people. But "only those who cultivate themselves to conform to essence can direct the course of nature and not be caused to wax and wane by nature". This should help those who wonder why understanding reality matters. ed note: typos
  19. People, if enlightening activity is relative to a cultural conceit that is in turn dependent on the happenstance of a future realm that can never exist other than in the (nonexistent) year of the ass, how can you go on with this charade? Don't speak of truth, speak of your complete ignorance, as did the completely sincere bum whose PM inspired this thread. All you who are waiting for a goddamn utopia can rot in it now. NO WAITING!
  20. 9th said: May be true, or may not be true? Suuuuch a powerful statement as you can muster, I suppose? Since it is true there is no obstruction that can be seen by one who is squandering a lifetime waiting for a nonexistent utopia while even now East mountain walking on water has always been the perennial standard, so I must add that for you it is a fact, my dear, that your borrowed and culturally grounded rat-vision is absolutely relative to your own obstruction. Padmasambhava doesn't need your squint-eyed distinctions, by the way~ as upaya is something you can only dream of. If you had any marrow in your bones, 9th, I'd slice those~ but you are an outsider, a pauper speaking of others' jewels. ed note: add (') too "others" in last line

haha~ *c'est vrai* That's great, Steve!!❤︎ And thank you for the likes, you guys!!
  24. When I slice, the blood squirts all the way straight up to heaven. There's nothing left of it. That's why I say to forget it. You can be sure I do. Its use is endless. People simply cannot stop themselves. People will either be able or unable to accept the certainty that the capacity of those with the will to enlightenment is the notion that living in the world though not of it is an excruciating free-fall of precision not admitting of one's own power in all situations by virtue of one's reality beyond belonging. Inherent unity precludes the notion. Belonging is relative to an illusion of separateness. Where wouldn't this no thing be? Your own mind is just aware nonbeing being your own eyeballs. People are simply phantoms in a phantom world. I will never reach Ixtlan. There's nothing to know. I'm already given away to unborn reality— there is nothing to capitulate. Ordinary people are otherwise. There is no clinging emotionality for phantoms. You cannot cling to this fundamentality of knowledge, therefore I have no notion of separateness to be separate from. It's all the same to me. If you really see me in yourself, we're cool. What you recognize as knowledge in me is your own mind. Otherwise, I'm a 10,000 foot wall. Get real yourself by seeing with open wonder and forget the personality issues, to work with what is and what isn't. If you think I'm just sitting around getting off on myself, that's your mind too. See through it. I do, so without getting hung-up on it, I know what's real and unreal about you. Practice and enlightenment have no limit. Gone, gone, beyond gone, gone beyond… yet the endless has no distance. It's right now. If that's not where you're at, and you engage me with conventional speculative devices, I slice completely through without hesitating (after a short grace period). The most recent casualty had already been on my ignore list since last week. ed note: add text below first line, tweak 10th and last line
