  1. I'd love to see this raptor in the rainforest:

    Harpy eagle

    -Fearsome

-Their rear talons are the same size as a grizzly bear’s claws and capable of plucking monkeys and sloths out of trees during flight!

And keep cultivating the latter skill.

Yes it is demanding for sure. I wish I had a cook doing the job for me. Alternatively living in a country with a strong food culture but right now it isn't an option.

This current lunar year is asking me to eat more of the following, which I'm really enjoying.

  4. From an energetic perspective it makes sense:

Shen level. Love-Compassion (Heart, the opening organ network to the Spirit)

Qi level (life force & yin & yang dynamics)

Jing level (raw substrate, generation & regeneration, brings life).

    Three Treasures.

About witted material, sorry don't know so can't really help here.

  6. Let's hope your friend can learn something out of this practical reading:

I have posted this in the past several times and I think it has helped some people realise the complexity and depth involved in the real internal development of the human.

The park stuff should never leave anyone's practice EVER; it's the EARTH FORCE, the balancing/grounding root of CONSCIOUSNESS.

The path of the EGO she is currently following has plagued internal development since the dawn of time and it's a tough one to overcome. Trial and error and self-realisation will eventually work things out.

    Good luck!

And Mother Theresa, the monster that she was... no, I'll stop right there.

    Apologies.

Why? No need. It's good stuff exposing the truth.

You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion. (L. Ron Hubbard)

    Mother Theresa's religion.

    Another wolf in sheep's clothing.

Religion is literally littered with wolves at all levels.

  8. My experience:

    1. Chop wood, carry water. YMMV

E/realisation/awareness and understanding of the big picture/end of journeying under a physical form.

    2. Chop wood, carry water. YMMV

1&2 = live life and YMMV.

  9. Strikingly sweet this year (water tiger has helped that). I have been eating them daily for the past month and a half but they are short-lived as won't last long at the fruit shop. They probably don't grow as much as apples or oranges.

Australia. No idea about other countries.

I'm talking about the white flesh variety. There are other two: red and yellow flesh. More expensive and a slightly different taste and also better.

Grapes aren't warming fruits. They are neutral. I enjoy the black muscat variety. Very sweet and with seeds. I don't eat genetically modified fruit; eg. seedless grapes.

  10. Damp Heat was my main condition I had to deal with throughout my practice. Lots of practice, a huge lifestyle change, a great weight loss, and several other changes including diet and sexual behaviour (celibacy).

Yes I was aware of the other fruits you mentioned. I do not eat any of them in the warmer months. No fruit in winter, zero.

Edit: it's crucial to take into account your animal sign and your TCM constitution before eating any foods to avoid upsetting your internal energetics. This goes for all FOODS.

  11. Realisation is not the big deal; it's the fact of all the work (lifetimes you'll have to go through) you got to do to realise what we really all are.

Those who cling to the realisation and make a great deal out of it is definitively a product of the ego and one should take their accomplishments with a grain of salt.

It's too easy to talk and make claims. But what exactly did you do and how many lifetimes are you aware of to get to the point of validating that claim.

Many authors on this topic consider that fruit is the most natural, most healthy and best food for human beings. I am not sure if they are right or not,

They are wrong. Try this experiment:

    1. Cold winter in northern Scotland. They offer you two meals to eat:

    A. Fruit salad

    B. Warm stew made of chunks of beef with onions, carrots and turnips in a rich beef gravy.

    2. Hot summer in Thailand. Two options:

    A. Dragon fruit

    B. The stew mentioned above.

It's all about Yin & Yang and the four seasons. You eat according to them.

I don't have one particular preference as I like several ones, including the one mentioned above.

When the True Nature is understood, being still lives in samsara, but now is free from pleasure and pain caused by attaching to things that are essentially ephemeral in nature.

    :)

Taomeow's post is correct whereas yours and this is the problem that plagues the Indo-European systems which is the sense of guilt and sin for living a physical life.

Living is a condition of existence.

Pain and pleasure are consequences of living and there is nothing wrong with that.

    There is no sin.

    There is no karma either.

There is no samsara and there is no nirvana.

There is evolution of existence. You'll live many lives until you complete the whole cycle.

Once you realise what you really are pain and pleasure are still there but you don't get carried away by them which is a big difference. Certainly the Buddha enjoyed his mushroom meal (last one according to literature) or he wouldn't have eaten anything claiming to be too pleasurable.

this is The Bums, your preeminent source for the *false gold of brightly shining inexpert opinion, so here goes.  I think we awaken when we have to.

I'm not going to say anything extra because this is a journey of self-discovery and journeys are often long.

*If monks can't what are is the rate of success for people living in society especially those who are obsessed about enlightenment? A: close to nil. It's like chasing a dragon; the more you try the further it goes away.

So what a monk has to say:

Not saying i can be making up a set better than what is taught by different teachers by now   ....     what i am saying is im looking for just an ok set that has some benefit  (even if very small)

OK, got you. For that try Yang TJQ, a simplified set easy to learn. Very little benefit but at least it'll keep you busy.

Go to YT, type Ian Sinclair Beijing Simplified Yang Tai Chi. He has broken down the whole set in several small videos. Very well explained and easy to follow.

  16. You aren't going to be smarter than 3,000 years + of systematic study of the *HUMAN by an ancient civilisation and its associated philosophical and scientific method: Taoism.

FORGET ABOUT CREATING YOUR OWN FORM AS A BEGINNER IN 2023.

You could have had a chance in let's say 1670 prior to any form of modern industrial revolution but only as an experienced practitioner.

Many of today's modern Qigong forms are just fluff. Not deep and lack a deep understanding of TCM and Taoism plus a good amount of grounding work.

    Edit:

    *and REALITY itself.
