If you had never heard of or read about Budda do you think you would still see and hear them during your meditation?
Â
Â
Instead of being so critical, could you please develop your theory about that I have never read Buddhist sutras?
-
I would like to share my visions I have experienced during meditative practice. They usually arise after 30 mins of sitting meditation. They are brief but I am very conscious of the events that take place:
Â
1. Seeing beings of astral dimensions different than this plane. They range from beings with similar shape to human but different skin colour and cranial morphology. One of them was staring and showed curiosity about me. It was kind of funny.
Â
2. Worlds different than ours were sentient beings were aligned in martial formation. Kind of a futuristic society in a pure "Brave New World" fashion.
Â
3. Buddhas from different worlds also gazing at me and sending me telepathic messages of love and compassion. Yes I know they know I am still down here struggling with karma and this physical existence. One day I will get there, lol!
Â
4. One Buddha instructing the Dharma to sentient beings from another dimension. It was a beautiful but very quick vision.
Â
Â
I wish I could give more details but these visions don't last that long unfortunately as I return quickly to my inward gazing and breathing, Vipassana.
Â
May you all be enlightened in this very lifetime.

Thanks for linking that video.
Â
Nice to see some chod principles in there.

Thanks for that. But this Taoist was also a Bagua master hence his longevity and suppleness.

I once heard a pretty powerful Qigong teacher (more powerful than anyone I've met before) claim that original Xing Yi predated Yiquan and what lots of people are claiming about Yiquan is just BS...Â
Â
Real Yiquan is certainly more powerful than the rest of IMA systems because is pure intent. Yiquan is very difficult to attain because it cannot be defined by an external form, whereas Xingyi teachers place too much emphasis on form.
Â
Here's an authentic Yiquan teacher. If you ever have the chance to meet the man you'll find out soon the true power of this pure internal art, just from the first time you meet him, like when Alex Kozma did:
Â

Â
Another similar art is I Liq Chuan, which is also very internal:
Â
Â
Serge Augier is also an accomplished student of this art, and teaches it as well.

Keep meditating. A trip doesn't equal enlightnenment.

Yeah, Egypt is the source of alchemy in both the east and the west. I was pretty supprised when I discovered that fact.
Â
No, my friend, no. Older than Egypt. Known since the dawn of man. Gurdjieff was a well-known researcher of this topic, whose beliefs are heavily influenced by Sufism:

I see that:

Very insightful and using the childish approach to what cannot be named, which I am so fond of (remember Tao and simplicity):

True, moving is very important. Remember that "still water breeds mosquitoes."
-
I think that the idea of past-life karma is ridiculous.
As far as I know, Taoist philosophy or mysticism does not address such an idea.
Â
My own personal, pragmatic interpretation of Karma is such: the 'blocks' in your systems that prevent you from being a Buddha.
Â
NO! Be careful, Read this:
Â
http://www.thebigview.com/buddhism/karma.html
Â
Karma = balance and justice. Every time we alter the natural course of phenomena using either of the three karmic causes, body, speech and mind, we are creating karma (either good or bad), and we will undergo an effect as a result.
Â
Nirvana is an eternal state of being where Karma and Samsara have ceased.

Fire-Water, Short-Long path. Each to their own.
Â
I myself a double Yang being find the latter most suited to my practice, others benefit from the former.
Â
Eventually they both end up in the same destination.
Â
However Water is safer than Fire.

Sorry I already behaved bad enough in the forum today. Not going to get involved in gossip again. My apologies to David Bowie. Namo Amitabha Buddha.

He got an ego, so he's still far from the final goal.

quote of the year from one of her videos:

non duality, that's like OH HOT STUFF, NON -DUALITY

its worth watching for the crazy emphasis she puts on certain words
also she has a PRAY HILARY INTO OFFICE yahoo group
Â
Â
I thought you left this Forum for good. Hmm...female attachment to Yang energy?
Â
Â
There is always an ego lurking inside of us. Chod is a good way of trying to get rid of it. But hard to practice that while living in society.
Â
Put out an incense stick against your skull to purify karma and destroy the ego-mind. My head:
Â
Â
Â
I am nothing, I am dust, I am empty, durkhrod chogori/Gerard is waste, rubbish, a pile of walking bones and flesh, a cadaver!!!!!

Seth Ananda,
Â
I didn't see a teacher in Brisbane listed on the Yang Mian website... just Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. Thanks for introducing the art, though.

Â
Â
LOL! Wushu, I'd stay away from that stuff. Having lived in Taiwan and met real Taoist warriors like He Jing Han and Luo Dexiu I ignore these lesser teachers.
Â
Â
Â
Have you ever met/heard of Brynn Orr?
Â
Â
Heard of him, I know he teaches in the Australian College of Natural Medicine, but that's about it.
-
Yes I am living currently here.
Â
If you ever go to Taiwan (one of the best places on Earth to learn IMA) get yourself a copy of this excellent guide:
Â
http://formosaneijia.com/my_products/
Â
Â
Â
And apparently a student of John Chang has learnt from him
Â
I know who you are referring to
Â
Have you met him as well?
Â
But I didn't recommend him to the original poster for various reasons.
Â
Btw, I didn't know that he learnt from J. Zhang.
Â
Are you one of his students?
Â
Â
Durkhrod,
Â
Those videos are hilarious! I learned Xing Yi back home in Canada (just the basics), but there is at least one school in Brisbane that teaches it: www.brisbanekungfu.com. I went and met with one of their instructors one day (Sifu Richard), and though he seemed like a nice enough guy he didn't really know what to make of my cold hands.
Â
Have you studied with Glenn Blythe? Is his schedule available somewhere online?
Â
Glenn Blythe knows his stuff really well. Jason is one of his students so I know what I am talking about.
Â
You need to ring up and they will send you a flyer. Sorry nothing online.
Â
I would stay away from a Wushu school you mentioned. Nah!!

One of the best Yang Taiji teachers in the country:

Â
He teaches in various days and locations all around Briz. His name is Glenn Blythe from Huang Sheng Shyan's lineage:

Â
Â
A former student of Mantak Chia teaches Qigong in West End, his name is Jason. He is good. I can give you his e-mail address if you want. Just PM me.
Â
Btw, where did you learn Xingyi in Briz?? I am dying to find a teacher in here.

Looks rather childish but I can assure you it is very accurate:

Why not do more with proper intent and structure??
Â
Â
If you are a beginner yes, but there will be a point of diminishing return later on.
Â
Once you have a strong root then you can move on. Go with the form.
Â
Santishi is a good stading posture if you are aiming at the Internal Arts:
Â
Â
Right at the end.
Â
Â
Sorry, I should have explained myself a bit better.
-
Unless you are extremely weak I would say that standing in eight postures for a minute and a half each is a waste of time. There are lots of benefits to be reaped from standing but you won't get them unless you are standing correctly for at least an hour a day.Â
This is another myth. In Qigong the more is not better, the less is better as long as it is properly executed: correct alignment, intent (yi), and more importantly 100% relaxation.
Â
There is a point of diminishing return where the practitioner will be regressing at a continuous rate for each additional input level, and ultimately reaching "internal burnout". This is extremely dangerous as internal burn-out is a mix of both external and internal fatigue.
Â
BK Frantzis intelligently discusses this concept in his books. A very smart westerner who grasped the underlying idea of the Taoist energetic arts.
-
I agree 100% with what you are saying, especially with the common ground they all have: observance of strict morality. Gautama Buddha simplified them in a very effective and simple system:
Â
http://www.thebigview.com/buddhism/eightfoldpath.html
Â
The rest will naturally come.
Â
However is easy to lose morality especially when siddhis are attained, the in that exact moment "Mara" will sweep you away from the final goal:

Reading Sutras is always a blessing. Eternal and universal wisdom. Passed on from Buddha to Buddha.
Â
Namaste, my awakened online pal.
does anyone hear voices in their head?

I think that could be just simply your higher self. It happens to me sometimes especially when I have deviated from the Noble Eightfold Path at some point.
Â
How about charismatic odours?
Â
Has anyone smelled them sometimes?
