  1. Thanks for the comment. I read that info about qingong kung fu in the past. He Jinghan is capable of very high leaps but he never shows you that stuff. I came across two of his photos doing that leap and posted over at Dragon's list forum which depicted him performing a leap of well above 2 m on the spot without running or the use of an external aid. Imagine what masters of old would have been capable of, lol! He told me this skill is almost lost, no one has the time and patience to train it in this busy world.

Imperial bagua masters all were qingong kf experts. That was when China was still an empire. ;)

  2. Bagua work is an excellent cure. Channel that qi to earth, mix it up down there and send it back to lower tantien.

This society is responsible for sending excess chi to our heads for many reasons you already know.

Lying down on the bare earth is also a good idea.

  3. Angels, Devas, Unicorns, Dragons, inhabitants of various astral planes in the constellations of Cassiopeia, Hercules, Lupus or Ursa Major, inhabitants of other Universes, all of them move around in Samsara in constant, eternal rebirths according to their karmic actions. And many many Buddhas teach the Dharma to the awakened ones in all those realities.

    :)

    Namo Amitanha Buddha.

Edited: karmic actions instead of Karma.

  4. Please feel free to discuss your style and lineage whether it is more external or internal oriented.

Let's make it a lively discussion.

About me: Practised Chen style Taijiquan for few years here where I live in Brisbane. Then moved to Taiwan to learn Yin Fu Baguazhang with He Jinghan. I decided to go back to Australia because I found Taipei way too hectic. It was a unfortunate move because He Jinghan is a top Bagua master.

Anyway, I just took up Bagua again and this time the Liang style as there are no Yin teachers in this city. Anyway Bagua is Bagua, however there is more emphasis on walking the circle in this style than in Yin Fu.

  5. Just watch them come and go.

Listen to Buddhist chanting like this to get inspiration and good vibrations that will stimulate your spiritual energy:

You can recite your own Buddhist mantras as well (do a google search for them). They are very energising. Visualise the Buddha within you which is radiating love and compassion to the whole world and all its sentient beings in this reality and all others.

Thinking and visualising the wellbeing of others instead of yours will get rid of emotions. Remember what the Christ and Buddha did: they spent their last part of their lives to the unconditional service of humanity.

    Recipe to achieve this state:

Daily Yoga. Practice at least twice a day.

    The best of luck :)

  7. Oregon.

Hmm...aren't there any parks nearby your home?

Best is practising close to an old tree (their souls are older and wiser, their earth chi is more grounded and you can exchange solid energy with them. Avoid young trees, too impatient and volatile) or near a waterfall. This Buddhist old friend of mine, genkaku, practises in the perfect environment:

  8. Quoted from that link:

Master Dachengs' Master Dahuei is estimated as being around fifty thousand years old.

I can say that I am much older than that. Problem is that I was in some sort of vegetable or mineral state back then :(

Maybe a lettuce from the constellation of Pegasus?

How about you guys, my fellow awakaned immortals? What were you 2 kalpas ago?

    ;)

  9. Namaste,

August 16, 2008. On Saturday and pushing hard. It is the last full moon of the Yin cycle here in the southern hemisphere. I don't know about you guys, living in the northern hemisphere but I felt it hard in my evening meditation. Looking forward for tomorrow's night practice. I might meditate several hours well into the night.

    Good luck everyone.

  10. Quoting the website...

Doubt, to me, acts as a reminder that I am not ignorant and it keeps adding fuel to my search. Perhaps it is a delusion however, yet I do not see it as such. Did not Buddha say that we should test things out for ourselves, for we are the only judges we need to satisfy? That being the case I would need to have reached the stage of gaining the siddhi which allows me to know my past lives before I would believe it... And that has been my take on it since the get-go.

Yes I know how you feel. I wish I was closer to you and look into you to tell you something about your previous karmic cycles. How long have you been meditating for??

That aside, I will have to join the laziness and loneliness camp. Less lazy... but so, so alone.

Thank you for starting this thread to remind me. My heart goes out to you, durkhrod chogori and Patrick, and all those who share this loneliness. May the trembling emptiness disappear from our hearts...

    Most humble,

    James

Yes we are all lonely, ALL SENTIENT BEINGS. That's one of the pivotal points of Buddhism:

    LONELINESS = ATTACHMENT = SUFFERING.

    Namo Amitabha Buddha

    :)

  11. First of all, read this:

    http://buddhism.kalachakranet.org/delusion...loneliness.html

    I have too:

    1. Loneliness.

    2. Laziness.

Plus attachment on top of that.

How far am I from the final goal? Very

Time left: I am 41 yrs old. Maybe another 40 yrs or more depending on karma. So....the odds are 1:2

    What should I do?

Probably move my lazy attached to the world ass and get involved with more spiritual retreats instead of dwelling in the ordinary world seeking for material pleasure. I will and need to start now not tomorrow!!!!

    How about you?

How much are you doing in order to break through illusory phenomena?

    Is it really working?

  12. My personal advice:

    1. Control your mind. Easier said than done, :D Practice quiet meditation while sitting, lying down or walking. Different visualization methods in order to achieve a state of one-pointedness is a good measure of your progress in meditation.

    2. Practice a moving energy art. There are many, they are all good. Chinese Kung Fu, Pencak Silat, Kalaripayattu, Boabom, Qi Dao, etc.

    That's all about it.

Don't change from method to method and avoid falling trap of the so-called spiritual materialism:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritual_materialism

    I like this part:

Psychological materialism is the belief that a particular philosophy, belief system, or point of view will bring release from suffering.

In essence all methods are the same. Stick to one and make sure you have fun!

Good luck in your spiritual development.

    :)
