  1. Must See Video

And I forgot about this other vid, which you probably have seen already. Tummo, another meditation induced mummified Lama and Western science: Link here: http://www.mymultiplesclerosis.co.uk/stran...made-mummy.html
  2. Do quiet Wuji or any other standing stance on the ground (preferably barefoot) and use your intention to absorb Yin energy coming from Earth thorugh your yongquan points to the kidney, then circulate it through the macroscomic orbit channels and sent it back to Earth. Do that several times and finish by gathering chi in your lower tantien. Good luck.
  3. Kunlun in Australia?

Hey Aussies, Does anyone of you have the address of either Max or someone of his organisation in Hawaii or the Seminar training location, or a phone number or whatever . A person I know is flying to the island next month and I suggested her to get involved with Kunlun while being in there. Thanks in advance.
  4. Maybe in the future you could study something like this: http://www.qigongmaster.com/articles4.htm Sounds fun, anyway.
  5. Tell me more about this John Chang.

No, you are wrong here. He is for real but he made a mistake by going public. Siddhis are real but don't get lured by them and focus in your mind. Take care.
  6. Must See Video

Thanks for posting this stuff. Another link: http://www.buddhistchannel.tv/index.php?id=3,4434,0,0,1,0 That monk achieved a Ling Shen status (or spirit in no longer need of a shell). More interesting stuff to complement this thread: http://www.relicsofbuddha.com/eng/page7.htm#02 In Asia these stuff has been going around for hundreds of years as well as most mystical stuff and is seen as normal. On the contrary, in the West it is either seen as a miracle or as a hoax. Westerners always so blind to the Yin realm. Everything is Yang, Yang, Yang!! Sex, sex, sex...$ $ $ Orientals as well but they understand spiritual issues more and don't make a big issue about it. Anyway have a good weekend and meditate heaps!!!
  7. Must See Video

    Thanks for posting this stuff.
  8. Describe Life.

Another dream of the many we have.
  9. Tell me more about this John Chang.

The fire path is the short way but riddled with dangers. The water path is much longer but safer and ends up in the the same place. Not many see this. They just want freaking siddhis. Combine a more "fire" Internal Art like Xingyi with Wuji stance and you'll be set.
  10. Goodbye Tao Bums

Please don't think like that. Actually being at the bottom is better: 61. Submission: The large country is like the lowest river The converging point of the world The receptive female of the world The female always overcomes the male with serenity Using serenity as the lower position Thus if the large country is lower than the small country Then it can take the small country If the small country is lower than the large country Then it can be taken by the large country Thus one uses the lower position to take The other uses the lower position to be taken The large country only wishes to gather and protect people The small country only wishes to join and serve people So that both obtain what they wish The larger one should assume the lower position
  11. meditating at certain times

Take a look at this: Circulation of Energy Through the Primary Meridians Lungs 3 AM to 5 AM Large Intestine 5 AM to 7 AM Stomach 7 AM to 9 AM Spleen 9 AM to 11 AM Heart 11 AM to 1 PM Small Intestine 1 PM to 3 PM Bladder 3 PM to 5 PM Kidney 5 PM to 7 PM Pericardium 7 PM to 9 PM *San Jiao 9 PM to 11 PM Gall Bladder 11 PM to 1 AM Liver 1 AM to 3 AM San Jiao (Triple Burner): it does not have a physical organ associated with it. However it is agreed it basically corresponds to the lymphatic system. If you follow the Yin/Yang change system then the hours corresponding to 5-7am and 5-7pm are the best for meditation/qigong practice because they bring major change and chi flows faster as a result.
  12. Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy

This book contains Medical Qigong exercises and it is highly recommended: http://www.amazon.com/Qigong-Empowerment-M...n/dp/1889659029 Make sure you have live help available just in case something happens. Going through the mandatory warm-up and cool-off exercises (not included in the book) are a must.
  13. Is it a good idea, or safe

I have no idea about how good visual materials are. But if you practice internal energy arts make sure you start with a thorough warm-up (minimum of 30 min) and a thorough cool-down including a sitting/lying meditation session to settle down "chi"at in your lower tantien (another 30-45 min). The warm up and cool down have got nothing to do with the Western way of exercising. If you fail to address these you are putting yourself under high risk. Fire type Qigong (i.e. Iron Shirt) should never been practiced without direct supervision, Water type Qigong is okay but sooner or later you need direct instruction when problems start to show up. Qigong is best learnt in a one-on-one scenario. I wish you the best of luck.
  14. Your Last Breath On Earth

6.Rupa-raga: "attachment to the form realms." That is, still binding ourselves to Samsara. 7.Arupa-raga: "attachment to the formless realms." (http://sped2work.tripod.com/fetters.html) I will probably stick around somewhere, no idea where. After enlightenment do some washing and grocery shopping.
  15. ---

Shamanic traditions were originally developed in Siberia and central Asia (Altai mountains region) (very Yin and Earth area; for instance, Mt Belukha is an spiritual mountain and a power spot and according to Asian legend, a future Northern Shambala, a mystical country of spiritual wisdom) and from there spread to the rest of Asia, Europe and North America and the rest of the continent. I highly recommend you reading this excellent book written by an authority on the subject: Eliade Mircea. The book is: Shamanism: Archaic Techniques of Ecstasy. http://www.amazon.com/Shamanism-Archaic-Te...n/dp/0691119422 A must read for everyone in this forum, if you haven't done so. 5/5.
  16. weird that money is holding me back....

Taijiquan is an excellent Qigong. Why don't you practice some sort of quiet sitting meditation to complement it? You can practice alone and if you need guidance come here and we will help you as much as we can. I also know a Yahoo group run by a Mahayanist with over 30 yrs of experience: Jeff Brooks. If you are interested I can send you the link. He will help you as much as time allows him. Have you tried a retreat by yourself? Like buying a tent and going to the wilderness alone for a period of time. One week makes wonders. I prefer lonely retreats as recently I attended a short retreat at a Buddhist monastery in the West which caused me to leave early due to noise (I had to put up with it during my meditations ) and religious matters. I rather ascetic practices without having to resort to deities, celebrations and all that jazz. This is something I am not very fond of the Mahayana tradition. Anyway, good luck.
  17. Egolessness Cultivation

Hi Chris, I'd recommend you to cleanse, nourish and strengthen your internal organs in order to remove those mind blockages you have in your mind due to all the toxins carried by them through the fire channel (du mai) to your high psychic centers located in the brain. I can write the exercises in here because it is a colossal task. The best thing you can do is purchase this book, which contains an accurate description of each of the exercises required: http://www.amazon.com/Qigong-Empowerment-M...n/dp/1889659029 You mentioned fear, anxiety and irrational fear of death. This is associated with kidney imbalance. Practice the required gong to fix these mental manifestations of that imbalance. The best of luck for you.
  18. Hagar, You are leaving something out of the equation. (Note: I am about to switch off the computer and can't type it up because it's going to tell me a while so I will link directly): http://www.chinavoc.com/zodiac/horse/five.asp I am the fire type of that sign. Ask me to go to Darfur or Gaza is going to really damage my health and my psyche really. Too Yang!! Same goes with someone who is a fire sheep or a fire snake. Going against Y&Y is unwise. Cheers.
  19. David Verdesi

About the most discussed topic in this forum: And quoting "Magic and Mystery in Tibet" by A. David-Neel: What should our attitude towards miracles be? The best way, Lama David-Neel suggests, 'is to be guided by the rather surprising opinion of the Tibetans themselves regarding miraculous events. None in Tibet deny that such events may take place, but no one regards them as miracles...Indeed, Tibetans do not recognize any supernatural agent. The so-called wonders, they think, are as natural as common daily events and depend on the clever handling of little-known laws and forces.' Westerners are blind and when they see they become obsessed.
  20. i want to lose weight and get clear

Fasting. You'll lose weight quickly with the added spiritual benefits. However you must prepare yourself for it and find time for when you are not either working or studying or even moving around. Best thing to do is prepare a week prior the fasting period where you gradually decrease the number of meals per day. Once the week is all over do a 3 day fast and you eat nothing, just drink filtered water during that period. You can increase that to a 7 day fast but if you haven't done it before 3 days is best for starters. About elemental nutrition, free ebook in here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/2279577/Training...-for-a-LeanBody The Nutrition guide is past the weight training section which you can skip. You can search for more if you wish. Finally, I also recommend you buying this book: http://www.amazon.com/Tao-Health-Sex-Longe...0768705-3977639 It offers lots of info about fasting and nutrition. Some of the nutrition facts are far-fetched but above all is not bad. Good luck.
  21. Oh well, you should have stated the complete year of birth, because as you know Chinese follow the lunar system (as Yin they are). So if you were born on January 24, 1984 then "water pig" you are; alternatively if May 11 was your year of birth, then "wood rat" is your sign. I have given you enough info for you to figure out the rest. GL.
  22. Internal Martial Arts Training Schedule

Train according to your year of birth and earth location. Every one is different. You should read a bit of TCM theory and understand how everything works. Links: http://www.chinavoc.com/zodiac/ http://chineseastrologyonline.com/5EBasic.htm Can't answer these questions online unless you tell us more about yourself, not your plans. GL.
  23. You are no pig and let alone water. This page will help you understand more about Sheng Xiao (Ying & Yang and 5 elements according to year of birth): http://www.chinavoc.com/zodiac/mouse.asp Wood Rat you are. Yes you are after Fire to nourish your Wood year. However, your sign is water itself so you need to nourish it with the element of Metal as well. Hence balance yourself with Fire and Metal in the right combinations. Find other ways instead of depleting your energy through sex. I understand know why you indulge so much in fire kundalini rising because of your wood year. The best IMA for you is Xingyi (which is more Yang than other styles). Alternatively you could learn Shaolin Kung Fu which is more Yang that IMA. I don't think it would be too difficult to find a teacher in Cali. Finally, get out to the sun and absorb the best and cleanest Yang energy available. You chose Cali to live because is located in the West, good choice as this cardinal point is Metal. In addition eat foods rich in Metal. Adapt your diet to this. Read the info given in this page: http://deepesthealth.com/2007/see-how-easi...-eat-optimally/ Be careful with Fire foods as they will rise your libido, they are good for you but eat them in moderation (tomatoes would be the best choice for you). Good luck. Edit: Purchase that book recommended by Patrick Brown as it contains very helpful info in basic TCM and yin & yang theory.
  24. Taoist philosophy

    Very short but insightful interview:
  25. You have excess Yang energy. Balance it with Yin and especially wood and earth. Staying all the time in NY is not going to help your sexual cravings. Are there any mountainous areas in the region? Visit them often. If I were you I would live in a smaller location. Change your diet, stop eating meat. Do you eat a lot of processed food, smoke (especially if you are a fire type of person, like a sheep, snake or horse) and drink alcohol? If so, drop them altogether. Practice moving Yoga, like Qigong forms and Internal Martial Arts. Good luck.
