That's pretty much what it comes down to. I was watching Mel Gibson's Apocalypto for the third time, and I think his depiction of Mayans in the Capital City are not so far off from what it was probably like. A spiritual society doesn't make it so that souls are more pure as they arrive. Karmic bonds will include the shallow, the less-intelligent, the more-evil as well as the good, deep and smart. If people are pretty much the same, then I imagine a lot of spiritual pride in a more Spiritual Age, a lot of people wearing things to show off their spirituality. The elders at the top are probably always shaking their heads a little at the ridiculousness of it, but knowing that this is the way of paths. If anything, the social organization of civilization would have been more progressively spiritual, and more advanced adepts were probably present, but was human nature all that different? Probably not, but i imagine it was a lot better than the largely demoralized civilization we are in right now.

Should a Taoist Forum focus primarily on Taoism?
hyok replied to chicultivation's topic in General Discussion
Buddhists are the nerds, Taoists are the cool kids. But we're all in the same school cheating off of each other's shitty notes. -
The concept of communication has been on the forefront of my mind lately. When I think about the essential nature of expression, it seems it's nothing but a very complex "charge". Like 010110 but longer. lol. This charge is then interpreted by our emotions as being positive/negative/neg/pos etc, etc. until finally the heart and mind decide "yes" its this or "no" its that. Although the mind plays a role in it, it seems as though it is the heart that does the actual translation of the foreign expression thus performing the role of interpreter between beings. What do you guys think?

Nah, no pessimism. I'm sure you'll attain whatever it is you want.

Honestly Findley, I feel like you're a transient in the desert and someone handed you a cracker, and now you think you're the richest man in the region. Perhaps you are, but your misguided-ness is revealing itself with every post. Yes, you seek to learn and seek to be enlightened but confuse yourself with stupid words like "mysterious pass" and "bliss". Hey, here are some more words for you - "doo-doo", "ca-ca", "poo-poo" "pee-pee". Just words, more words and here are some more to describe something that cannot be described. I suppose the futility of these discussions is what makes it such a grand ol' opra of drama queens who want to feel like sages. But in reality, we are just children in a sandbox throwing dirt at each other. Children in a sandbox, that's what we are.

Interesting, phore. When you say "feeling and an energetic image", what exactly do you mean by this? What kinda of feeling is it? Like an emotional feeling, or a sensory feeling? Regarding the energetic image - do you mean a literal image of energy within you? one you can feel or one you can only see?

At least this thread was good while it lasted.

According to Gopi Krishna, retention is necessary for the beginning stages of Kundalini transformation, which could be a few months, or until the brain stabilizes from the exposure to excess prana. Krishna further states that the sexual energy turned into psychic energy is the only thing that keeps the brain from going insane. Personally, I think he's right about that. I don't know why JJ had to be celibate for so long. It's quite unfortunate.

You're not alone. My personal theory - massive global Yang energy event on the last week of July. I think some sort of quickening is happening, but it seems to be affecting a certain population. Related link posted a few weeks ago.

**AT LAST ** Official Launch: New Online Taoist Learning Centre

Stig, I gotta say, the site looks A LOT better than I had imagined. Congrats on a great job and thank you for this. -
One thing I learned from the I Ching (which I should really practice more often), is to shut-up because talking too much creates mistakes and thus weakens the adept. I like what marblehead wrote the other day, "Try to avoid conclusions. Best to keep an open mind.", or something like that.

Nice thoughts. Only thing I would add to it is... I'm thinking that our bodies are connected to our souls, temporarily. By this I mean that our bodies sort of act like a cocoon through which we develop the spirit and learn until it's time to move on.

"Why do they call you Vaj?" "Mom always said, 'you are what you eat.'" How's that for a snazzy come back?

I think i've only met one teacher who behaved like the way I imagined a teacher to be. Totally humble, funny and oblivious to any type of self-aggrandizing. Other teachers seemed to carry a "holier than thou" air about them, which caused me to clinch my wallet a little tighter. What gets me is when an OLD teacher, like 60+ yo, acts this way. I don't get it. I mean, i'm 36 and i'm starting to get over the euphoria of feeding the ego. I can't imagine being stuck in that rut when i'm 60 and surely it must represent something that is lacking in the character of the teacher.

LOL. Vaj.

URGENT information regarding Swine Flu Vaccine

This makes sense in that we're supposed to be trying to create a Yang spirit body. Silver is Yin. -

I think the use of the word "conspiracy" has been used up on the internet. A few things about EM engines - someone show me an electro-magnetic engine that works and isn't a variation of a perpetual motion machine. I would like to see one powering a fridge or an LCD TV for more than 24 hours straight. Frankly, i've seen a lot of these videos and even attempted to make my own, but i have yet to witness with my naked eye a TRUE EM engine that provides free energy. Not that I don't believe it's possible, I just think it's quite odd that there are so many folks who claim to have built these engines -- yet i can't buy one anywhere! Not even a super expensive custom made one. Also, Tesla said something that was the cornerstone in my interest in spirituality -- "there is a unique relationship between electricity and magnetism in the universe." I took that to heart.

Why are we brave for taking on human form?

anyone notice their energy surging the last few days?
hyok replied to de_paradise's topic in General Discussion
Yes! Massive increase in energy the last two or three days. Like serious blow through blockages type of energy. My head feels like a lightbulb. -
That's pretty fascinating, Findley. The whole of it. I look forward to understanding tSotGF better in the future because of this. Thanks for sharing cuz it has definitely imprinted. BTW, I think I know where you're coming from now. It's the fluff that you think is wasteful. Like the whole 'smiling to your organs' and just plain whole focus on harmonious, uber-feminine type of practices that permeate through many metaphysical circles. As a practitioner who has found himself in these types of practices, I find them to be very uncomfortable and misleading for ME, and I think in the big scheme of things, for some people, it is an absolute waste of time, but it certainly draws in a certain demographic as well as makes some people feel better about venturing into the unknown. Cheers!
