I stand corrected. I was in error of making a logical fallacy i.e, making a sweeping generalization. In general most so called native medicine has little or no power. However, there are still a few that are the real deal. I have seen in the last decade that their weather making skills during their seasonal dances seems to have diminished somewhat. Why that is, I don't know. Maybe this just applies to the reservations and pueblos here in the Southwest. I happen to be part Cherokee by my mothers side of the family. What I meant was not to be disparaging in any way to native people. I have seen too much fraud, cons and all kinds of deception in the name of spirituality. Living in Santa Fe, I have seen it all. I tend to be a harsh critique and question everything. I use that criticism in my daily qigong practice as well, so i don't buy into my own delusions. There are probably more so called shamans and healers per capita in Santa Fe, than anywhere in the known universe! LOL!! The problem is, that there so called medicine doe not work. ralis
  4. Phowa and Stigmata

I know that phowa has been discussed on here before. However, why does one need a hole in one's head in order to control transference of consciousness. Is that not spiritual materialism? There are many documented cases of stigmata and I wonder if this phenomenon falls in this category. BTW, I have been taught phowa by a Lama and I still can't find my hole. ralis

The teacher training in Santa Fe was around 950.00 The training in Hawaii was around 1500.00. My friend did both. Daniel

I know he posts here and I can't find a contact on the KAP site. An email address would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ralis

Thanks for the input. I bought his DVD after a good friend of mine trained with him. She taught me the so called 1st level and I was never impressed nor felt like it was anything internal. The reason I mentioned the Siberian Shaman thing is that I have seen these type of bogus claims for decades. I have lived in Santa Fe NM for 21 years and have seen it all. The shamanic training is usually offered as a week long or weekend training to become a shaman. I have met a lot of deluded shaman wannabes. This town is full of them! After they pay a fortune, then they set up some kind of healing, soul retrieval practice. The usual suspects are women who come to Santa Fe to be healers and wind up with some local so called pueblo master shaman. This is usually in the form of giving sexual favors in return for so called shamanic power. It is a known fact that Native American medicine has had no power for 300 yrs. If anyone reading this post has not read Eiiade's excellent work on Shamanism, I highly recommend it. If any Siberian Shamans still exist, then they have probably have had little contact with the outside world. In fact it was through their archaic practice of ingesting Amanita muscaria that led to their visions of other worlds and various tribal healing practices. The mythology of Santa Claus and flying reindeer probably originates from these archaic techniques of ecstasy. ralis

He sells a very expensive "special" blender that juices everything. Even avocado seeds. Seeds are important. I don't know the nutritional value of stems and skin. ralis
  9. A Test on Morality

After reading the news today, this planet is starting to resemble Gotham City. Looks like the Joker (chaos) is doing his thing. ralis
  10. A Test on Morality

Has anyone seen "The Dark Knight"? There are several scenes in that movie that the Joker sets up to force these types of situational ethics. Interesting seeing how the characters responded in each situation. ralis
  11. Phowa and Stigmata

What I meant was, the consciousness should not be inhibited by whether one has a hole in one's head. This seems to be the dogma around phowa. No hole, therefore no exit to the proper Buddha realms. ralis
  12. A Urologist told a friend of mine that if he did not keep sexually active as he ages, he could develop real problems with the prostate. This is my main concern with cultivation practices as one ages. Here is a link to an article addressing causes of prostate problems. ralis http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/he...0s-1516792.html
  13. Has anyone done Soaring Crane? I am a little suspicious because of the statement in the DVD's that it is approved by some Chinese sports commission. Chi-lel is supposed to be a safer and improved version of Soaring Crane. Dr. Pang who originated Chi-Lel has made numerous claims as to the effectiveness of his version. Anyone have knowledge or experience? ralis

  16. Thread about Nothing

One must receive a live transmission from a lineage lama. That date and time is included on the application. This restricted business is still a throwback to Tibetan monastic authoritarianism. Apparently these practices were never taught openly and only to a very few. These practices are ones birthright and do not belong to some hierarchy. ralis
  17. Thread about Nothing

I called Snow Lion yesterday and the Yeshe Lama text is available. Comes with a hefty price of 85.00. The text is restricted. One needs to fill out an application to receive it. ralis
  18. any cool heartburn remedies?

I use cayenne tincture with a little water. Also cayenne tea with honey and lemon. Works great! I use the hottest 90k heat units in powder. In tincture 180,000 heat units works great. Great for the cardiovascular system! Cayenne is an anti-inflammatory medicine. ralis
  19. Kabbalah

Rav Laitman was asked how many students he has and he said 2,000,000. Then he was asked how many have crossed the Machsom and he said 19. The Maschom is the barrier that seperates us from the spiritual realms. Apparently there are 125 steps back to the Divine. ralis
  20. Costs around 18,000 Euro's
  21. Was that the blond on the video talking about Sitchin's work? She is just some New Age wannabe. Knows nothing. A friend of mine had this done 5 yrs. ago and said it is still sustaining. So far so good for me after 2 weeks. Yesterday my breathing changed for the better. Has not been that great for 15 years. ralis
  22. The vagus was irritated and therefore any stretching or adjusting around C2 made it worse. I have very good body awareness and I can feel what is happening. That was confirmed by my Osteopath. During the summer of 03 I was lying on the sofa and propped up my head and I immediately had the arrhythmia. I was able to see my Osteopath and he did a subtle movement on C2 and my heart settled down. My problem is definitely structural. ralis
  23. Rolfing and the Osteopathy only made my arrhythmia worse. Certain Feldenkrais movements made it better for short periods of time. The underlying cause was never addressed. ralis
  24. I have had numerous techniques preformed on my spine and so far this is superior. Chiropractic adjustments do not hold because the conditioning in the muscles is not addressed. I also had 14 sessions with a European trained Osteopath and that did not sustain. I also did the Feldenkrais training, which is very valuable and not quite sufficient. 14 rolfing sessions helped somewhat. From what I understand, this placement of the Atlas will make other body work more sustainable. The therapist who placed my Atlas is a rolfer and am considering having him do some rolfing in the future. My reason for all this work is my head and shoulders have been too far forward, thus creating pressure on C2 which is where one of the branches of the vagus nerve that controls heart rate innervates. That pressure causes a lot of arrhythmia. Since the Atlas placement, I have seen marked improvement. ralis
