  3. Listen and learn!

I remember that guy, yet another Theosophist, and I actually had all his talks in mp3 format but couldn't listen to them because he tended to drone on. Death by monotony? Hey, now there's an idea!
  4. What are you listening to?

Got to be the Christmas No.1
  5. Learning to Burn

My mistake, thought the above meant the whole show. I probably could deal with it on a good day but as said not really my kinda thing.
  6. Suggestions for Music to Meditate to.

Yes that is true but even so some music can have a positive effect regardless of the emotions it invokes.

  8. Listen and learn!

Let it take you to a higher truth!
  9. Learning to Burn

I read the first post and it was interesting but I doubt I would ever go to such an event. I'm familiar with BM as I used to be a member of tribe.net So even though people aren't supposed to drink alcohol there was obviously plenty of makeshift bars. Also you mentioned there were a lot of drugs about! I drink and am not shy of drugs but if an event states no booze or drugs you would think that it would be enforced? No I like hearing the stories and seeing the photos but I think 'sensitive me' would find it all too much. Anyway you seemed to have had a good time and certainly an adventure with plenty of stories to tell!
  10. DNA Evidence Rocks the Boat

Can't see it doing any harm as there's nothing explicitly racist going on with this thread. I've set out the rough idea, well at least as far as I can see it, above so people can argue that if they want.
  11. Just dropping in to say "Hi" and share gifts :D

Really nice website, good luck with it.

  13. Chuang Tzu Chapter 2, Section A

I'm sure I'll get back to this, just a lack of self confidence.
  14. Chuang Tzu Chapter 2, Section A

No I'm fine just really no need to be here or even comment! I think that's what's beating me up. I thought I could dance to this tune but it caused me to forget the one tune. I'm alright I'll get back into the rhythm!
  15. Chuang Tzu Chapter 2, Section A

I'm depressed! I'm struggling and it's making think I'm an idiot. I shouldn't worry I just feel out of place. I'm sure I would understand what you're all on about but I'm just not that familiar with the inner chapters, sorry. Perhaps if I read the threads in this section and just hang back for a few weeks until I get an idea of the form then it might all come into focus? For someone who it pretty good at this stuff, I mean I'm 44 and I've spent most of my life..., well you know the deal. Think I'm just annoyed with myself as I haven't really exercised my philosophical muscles for a long time. Only myself to blame, I need to get my shit together. But perhaps, well it's just where I'm at, lots of things going on at the mo. Sorry!
  16. Taoism and Karma

    Thanks that was very helpful.
  17. Taoism and Karma

So we fall into the illusion of death and rebirth? Hmm not sure about that could you expand on it a bit?
  18. Chuang Tzu Chapter 2, Section A

I won't get too involved here as I'm not that familiar with the inner chapters and I find much of it very confusing. But I must say that of course the Universe isn't intelligently created it's a process, a natural unfolding that follows a principle that Blavatsky called the "divine ideation". We can see it in sacred geometry and Phi. When our universe fist came into being it only reached a certain point in it's expansion and then dissolved. Perhaps something grows with each appearance? Energy? Tao? I don't know what it is but at each appearance the universe grows but not because of intelligence but because it continues to follow the "divine ideation". Eventually the awakening consciousness progresses and appears within a vehicle that yields self-consciousness, the I am of the ego. It is at this point it can begin the process of self-cultivation or from a Taoist perspective follow the way. Now if we throw the multiverse into the mix it begins to get really intriguing! Are we not experiencing our own universe within the universe and this universe is just an aspect of the multiverse? OK I'll put it more simply. Everything exists and is happening all at once yet we only see what our vehicle will allow. I won't take this any further as it's just becomes pure speculation. But feel free to speculate if you wish.
  19. Taoism and Karma

I had a feeling you might say that!
  20. Taoism and Karma

Yes that's very interesting kind of like holding fast to the center.
  21. Taoism and Karma

Yes I did think that when I read it years ago but perhaps there's a more esoteric interpretation? Perhaps Shu and Hu are the duality of the manifest universe and there interaction is through chaos? This interaction causes the evolutionary progress with the formation of atoms and then their coalescing into elements, planets etc. The relevance of the septenary abstraction is perhaps related to the formation of the seven planes of consciousness. So when this process reaches a certain point man appears and an ordered view of the universe is seen without any apparent chaos? Chaos is transmuted into order and is now the flow named Tao but within everything? The term the "eternal return" comes to mind.
  22. Taoism and Karma

Perhaps someone can explain this to me?
