Demonology. Why focus on the negative?
Sanity Check replied to Apotheose's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
The only similarity I see. Greek mythology contains references to giants (titans) of past eras. While the bible contains references to giants of past ages who were wiped out during the great flood. Similar to the great flood of Noah's Ark and the flood tale of the Epic of Gilgamesh. I've seen atheists claim the story of Jesus is a copycat of the story of Mithras for the last 20 years. Making those types of unsubstantiated claims is an integral part of how atheism lost ground over the past 20 years as well. -
When I was 12 years old, I delivered newspapers. The sunday paper was delivered early in the morning. It was normal for me to go door to door in the darkness before dawn and to watch a nice sunrise as the sun came up. The TV in the living room was on. There was an old horror movie about a genie. While I was walking down a path to deliver a paper. Suddenly a voice behind me, that seemed near the back of my neck said something in a whispering or hissing voice. (I could make out the words but dont want to repeat what it said). I looked behind me. There was nothing there. There was nothing within 10 to 20 feet of me other than the pavement walkway I was walking on. Bordered on both sides by grass. I ran to deliver the paper where it was supposed to go. Rode home. Got a pocket knife for protection. Finished my route. Being somewhat rattled the entire time. To this day I wonder what it was. Ventriloquist is my favorite explanation.

Demonology. Why focus on the negative?
Sanity Check replied to Apotheose's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
The concept of 33% of fallen angels rebelling against heaven in the bible. Is not something found in greek or arabic tomes. The bible also repeats certain numbers and fractions like 1/3rd in ways which may have deep hidden meanings. In ways which cannot be compared to other religions. Which do no such thing. -
I approach this from the perspective of someone searching for fundamental principles to explain x, y, z. Or someone searching for parallels in science which might apply to esotericism. The way boomers construct puzzles or do their newspaper crossword. (Youth today prefer sudoku or wordle.) You might want to try it, sometime.

The way people value or neglect their pets. Is a good indication as to their true character.

Demonology. Why focus on the negative?
Sanity Check replied to Apotheose's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
The bible itself containing parables and narratives of fallen angels. Even christians who usually avoid topics of magic & the occult must know some degree of biblical demonology. Christians who say things like "Satan get behind me" while believing there isn't an element of demonology study involved in these quotations and stories of fallen angels. Are a strange people. -
Oddball theory about this. Its possible human sex works similar to cordless chargers for phones. . Note the coil in the abdominal area ^. Surely many have noticed this before I did?

COVID actually improved my health. Lost sense of taste and smell. Also lost all sensation of hunger or wanting to eat something. Went 3 days without eating, had a nice fast that improved my health. With COVID there was 1 day where I felt weak & slept more than normal. Then the illness was gone. Which aspect of science was useful to you during COVID? I learned some things about viruses and medical science during that time. And 99.9% of whatever I learned was 100% useless to most. So it seems anyway.

Asking for something in a prayer
Sanity Check replied to idquest's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
A relationship is an exchange. Exchange of words, ideas, pleasantries, etc. Rewards in exchange for service defines a specific type of relationship. Some ask God for things and expect everything for free. As if religion were an offshoot of socialism with free education, free healthcare and free lunch. If the relationship was a fair and balanced one, should God not also ask things of people expecting the cost of wages & labor to be free. -
I wasn't active on daobums during COVID. And didn't see your response to it. What makes you think I was referring to you? Anyways done with this dialogue. Back to cartoons.

I would like to say I gave up on people. After seeing how little use they had for science or facts during COVID in 2020. But the more honest assessment is, people gave up on themselves. There's no need to try to say anything smart or insightful. People have no use for such things.

The best? Personally, I feel like I haven't said anything yet. Only low quality and low intelligence takes on things. To suit the current environment of the internet.

Asking for something in a prayer
Sanity Check replied to idquest's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
If the question is how God does things. Then it might be answered... How does the being who caused the Big Bang to occur in order for the universe to be created answer prayers. Entities of partial value and capacity use transactional methods due to their limited volume and energy. God's energy and volume would be infinite transcending mere physical limits. Like a nurturing parent, God would want people to pray to develop a relationship and ask for help when needed. -
Some hold the opinion I have too much qi in the head area, they say it should be more sunk. But its not a result of moving energy up the spine. It stems from years upon years of reading thousands of articles on finance, science, politics, current events every year. Years of constant arguing, debating, breaking down & analyzing things. Etc, etc. Its not the same as governor - functional channel imbalance. Many taoists prefer forms of intuition over developing the rational mind. Consider me the anomaly of a person who prefers developing the rational mind over intuition.

Buddha Bar is borderline offensive? The Buddha-Bar is a bar, restaurant, and hotel franchise created by French-Romanian restaurateur Raymond Vișan, with its original location having opened in Paris, France in 1996.[1] The Buddha Bar "soon became a reference among foreign yuppies and wealthy tourists visiting the city",[1] and "has spawned numerous imitators",[2] becoming popular in part because of the DJ's choice of eclectic, avant-garde music. It became known internationally for issuing the Buddha Bar compilation albums, which are popular compilations of lounge, chill-out music and world music, also under the Buddha Bar brand,[1] released by George V Records. Buddha Bar "has made a name for itself with its Zen lounge music CDs and remains a hit – especially with tourists".[3] Locations have since been opened in a number of other countries, although not without controversy arising from the theme. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddha_Bar ... Speaking of buddha & cartoons. There is a netflix series entitled Record of Ragnarok with buddha portrayed in it. https://www.netflix.com/title/81281579 Buddha in cartoons ^

The fact that evil people can attain wealth and long life. Is the best evidence for God being love. He shows an incredible amount of restraint and mercy in allowing "the wicked" to enjoy success in the material world. When by all justice and fairness they might deserve far less.

Where are the High Level Martial Artists/Fighters at?
Sanity Check replied to Goden's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Out of everything I do. Athleticism and fighting are the things I am worst at. That said I do enjoy working on technique and improving my skills in this area. Is there anything people do they would recommend or share here.- 139 replies

More parallels Thousand hand buddha. Thousand hand attack.

There are traditional martial artists who practice a technique of sucking illness and evil energy into the palms of their hands. There are taoists who say there is a hole there, where things can be sucked into and contained. And later released.
-
Well, even in christianity there was a practice where they would put hands on a sick person to heal them. There are at least a few variations on the concept of healing people with hands. The anime version of sucking evil (or illness) into a person's hands is something like a hollywood exaggeration of it.

There was a man who accidentally ate that all white mushroom. He was lucky to survive and blogged about the experience. Where he became temporarily paralyzed and hospital medics dressed him in an adult diaper. https://blog.mycology.cornell.edu/2006/11/22/i-survived-the-destroying-angel/

Its a hollywood exaggeration to be sure. But so many have spoken on this, I would be shocked if you did not already know the answer.
