They definitely have before - I'm learning everyday, hopefully not the same lessons twice.

Thanks @inthe5am! Best wishes to your journey here. Yeah, I’m trying not to work myself into an ethical analysis paralysis here. Doing a moment-to-moment self-study on my thoughts, actions, and fruits of my actions to burn up old habitual patterns.

Thank you! Fun to have around - only because I'm not afraid to learn the hard lessons and make a fool of myself (then post it on a public forum)

Thank you Dosa. I hope so. I'm probably going to start a thread asking the bums

Also, shout-out to @Jeff who has given me some very illuminating insight and a bit of a surreal exercise! Thank you so much for your help.

This has turned out to be a lot harder than I thought, I thought I was a "good person" before engaging in practices, and now I'm more confused about that than ever. I actually looked up "how to be a good person" and didn't find an answer on Dao Bums, but that may be a bit too basic for this forum

Hi everyone, Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I’m a newbie in internal alchemy, and from day 1 of practice my mundane reality has done multiple flip-flops with a sprinkling of “newer” experiences via accessing subtler layers of mind, I guess. I suspect this is at least partly because I started practice sorely lacking in virtue and calmness, so when the dark stuff arose thanks to my own churning I freaked out. My work goes as basic as “how to be a good person”, and hoping I gain wisdom with my power in my cultivation. Also to remind myself that whilst on the yellow brick road, I am already home, so stop rushing towards the destination at which I’ve already arrived. Blessings to all 🙏🏼.
