  1. Maybe. I don't have hot flushes but the other two maybe. I have a weird feeling on my throat. It shouldn't be going anywhere in the first place because it happened when i wasn't practicing at all nor doing SR. I am doing fragrant at the moment so i can't meditate to let it sink except maybe in GF.
  2. The electric feeling seems to arise from the basis of the tongue going upwards. It feels like a constant buzzing in my mouth. Maybe not buzzing but slight trembling for sure.
  3. I have a similar symptom but the energy rises from the front so it is unlikely to be associated with MCO. My guess is that it is yang chi going up the "thrusting vessel/channel". It is also unmistakable when i assume any zz position. I haven't seen any of the sideeffects mentioned by freeform or by Damo (yet). @freeform any thoughts? I wasn't practicing the days it triggered and it is active for most of the day.
  4. Xiang Gong - Fragrant Qigong

The government promotes styles that lack a supernatural element. There is nothing "medical" going on with the Yijinjing or the baduanjin version that is promoted by the CCP. They are plain exercises, nothing more than their western counterpart, isometrics. Are they "good for health"?, yes but so are isometrics, callisthenics, stretching etc. Did you never wonder why there are no pranayama exercises, promoted by the CPP, for example like "9 bottled breaths"/"nine purification breaths"? Some of those have no visualisation and no "supernatural" elements while clearing the channels (which are a big part of TCM which the Chinese government promotes at every corner. Double speech? you bet!)
  5. Not 100% true. Samsara can be exited through other realms but it is easier to do through the human realm. Do you have a link to the mentioned video?
  6. Xiang Gong - Fragrant Qigong

@Cleansox @SirPalomides I have located the list in the past (in Chinese) but it eludes me right now. What i have found is this list https://2009-2017.state.gov/j/drl/rls/irf/2007/90133.htm Where Xiang gong is listed by name. The allowed styles going by memory were Taichi qigong, Yijinjing, Baduanjin, Five animal frolics (not the spontaneous form), 6 healing sounds. This isn't the whole list.
  7. Xiang Gong - Fragrant Qigong

Can you tell me what the source of the surge that creates Fragrant water is then? If he is really dead then who the hell creates that powerful wave? I am not convinced at all that he is dead, plus Xiangong is in the list of Forbidden styles of qigong. So take what it is written about it with a grain of salt.
  8. Who says that you can't meditate? It is explained in the pdf that putting attention on the movements affects the way chi moves. The same goes for visualisations of energy in ZZ.
  9. Not true for fragrant. Fragrant can't be combined with standing which has visualisation or sitting which has deep concentration(trance states) or pranayama exercises. You can do moving qigong which doesn't involve unnatural breathing or visualisation.
  10. Refining ZZ alignments

It all depends on the school. If you get this book then you will have to refer to that teacher to help you progress. Same goes for "the Way of Energy". Every school has different variations for ZZ depending on it's goals and methods.
  11. It is ok. I have combined Shibashi, 8 piece brocades, Fragrant and ZZ (plus even isometrics etc) without any problems. You must avoid heavy visualizations in ZZ though.
  12. Stoicism - your thoughts ?

It is highly possible that the source of stoicism was buddhism. By the time stoicism came into being the greeks had already been in contact with buddhists through the conquests of Alexander. Some stories about Alexander meeting ascetics in India exist in his biography by Plutarch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnosophists https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalanos There were also considerable conversions of Greeks in the IndoGreek and Grecobactrian states during the Successors' wars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greco-Buddhism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-Greek_Kingdom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greco-Bactrian_Kingdom Alexandria was the gateway of the East to the Roman empire and the Mediterranean. A well known Buddhist emissary passed through that port during the reign of emperor Octavian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zarmanochegas Zarmanus or Zarmanochegas could possibly derive from the word Sramanas=>Sramanus=>Zarmanus
  13. John Chang - Jesus

I name you the TDB's official Jester! When do you start your own standup gig?
  14. John Chang - Jesus

This post delivers!!!! It is ironic that Christian sects can't get away for failing predictions on the rapture/the Apocalypse/the end of the world and all other faiths/sects can get away with failed disaster predictions using the same excuses. Do you know what they say? "God forgave us for the time being", "God gave us more time to repent", "thank God we were wrong because we interpreted this and that wrong" yadah yadah. Yep you are probably Christian and don't know it.

It dawned to me yesterday that they might not even recognise qi deviations for what they are. Hence the incompatibility between views. I ran upon a thread on their site that describes deviations in senior students but they are called "deep cleansing" or "overtraining". So Langford above could be honest and not lying at all but he doesn't know exactly what qi deviations are.
  16. ?????? I have no idea what you are talking about.
  17. Give this man a cookie! Now seriously, why on earth did you spend so much time reading this nonsense? I mean there are many books on cultivation worth your time and not expensive. Why not read one of those?
  18. downward energy flow

First you deflect the question. Then you lie saying that you don't have a problem with qi deviations and now you say that you know how to do that. How do i know that you aren't lying again? How hard is it to just say "We haven't had a case like that but we know how to handle it"? That is the exact response i had from one teacher. But no, you had to underline how "awesome" your style is.....
  19. downward energy flow

Qi deviations can happen in any form if no precautions are taken. I don't know how the baduanjin deviation happened but i assume that it was due to the shaking form done closely after consuming something or very vigorously.

You just gave me one of the Red Flag answers.... There will be qi deviations at some point during the process of training. Maybe not this year maybe not in the next 5 or 6 but they will happen. If you aren't ready to deal with it then something is wrong. That means that there is something wrong with either the system or the teachers. I recently talked via email with someone who can faqi and so can some of his students. The very first question i asked him was whether they had side effects of training. He said that they weren't and if there were he would be the first to notice them. I have been very cautious about his system ever since. We also had a guy who ran a qi clinic in the UK and said that he had seen all kinds of qi deviations even from Baduanjin. You are basically telling me in analogy that you never take fire suppressant measures in the building you are in because everyone knows how not to start a fire...... It doesn't work that way sorry.
  21. downward energy flow

Thank you for the answer but i did not ask that question. I asked what do you do when a student can't stop moving as a qi deviation from spontaneous. The problem with "that" evidence is that it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. I can point you to threads here in TDB that involve people having been damaged by training in Spontaneous qigong systems. This isn't proof either, by the way, just an indication.
  22. It isn't used to build a LDT. So i will repeat the question: what about it?
