  1. The student, the arbiter, the watcher

Personally I work on multiple levels at once. Qigong for energy cleaning and cultivation, outer dissolving for clearing trauma, * meditation with a serious teacher for enlightenment of consciousness (the most important) and various psychological works for healing the psyche, learning to eat well and cook, a course in miracles for seeing people are innocent, general workouts for strength. This is the fastest way to work on mulitple levels, however I have a lot of time. Each practice has been honed to a high level, I picked up the 7 strands one by one and have continuously improved each one. One learns to love to work. When I enter the world and get caught in its darkness, I know what to do, the only thing you can do ... and that is work more. It took deaths in my family before I really committed, many disasters had to happen before I gave deeper commitment, but try to learn your lessons well or you will have to retake the class and that hurts. And yes, total salvation is possible and very real. Choosing a teacher ? Try something that interests you, and do exactly what they say. If nothing happens confront the teacher and if they have no answer then leave. If you gain from it continue. For every good teacher there are 10 ok teachers and 1000 nonentity teachers. This is the way of this world. But one starts to smell the good teachers. What is confusing : - if you ask a teacher a question he may fob you off with ... "yes just practice for 10 years and don't be impatient" - this is bullshit you should feel the meaning of any practice immediately or near immediately. - force : many teachers / schools use force, like concentration practice or asceticism. This works ... but only in a small way. It is like you have a teaspoon and you try to dig a tunnel out of prison - does it work ? Well yes, but not really. Force is for fools. Understanding and sensitivity lead to much higher tools, not really tools but cultivation through inner intelligence. Force is interesting to experiment with but it is not the way out. - any teacher than has thousands of students is a teacher of a low level, the highest teachers have few students - it is up to you to learn ... whatever you can from whoever you can ... all is up to you, if you choose the light will fill you - beware of fake smiles, fake feelings, and so on. Always seek grounded people. - hating the human - body-mind - ego ... is the wrong way, God did make us for a reason - experience much, but make a choice - digging one deep well is better than a thousand shallow ones - I Am, I Can, I Am, I Can ... Buddha touched the ground and knew he was made for a reason, and when the Sun rises it rises for you. - I love he who loves the work
  2. I would be interested in comments and references on the following idea : I was reading an interesting thread on semen retention, which I am not very good at. I have found it very difficult particularly on Fridays when it feels to me that many people are ejaculating, meaning ejecting their reserves of sexual energy. There is a buzz about Fridays that I can feel on the street and in the air, all the work that has been done for 5 days, and now it is party time. Time to eject sexual energy, it's hard to stay grounded on Friday with all this buzz in the air. It would be interesting to see how mankind would be if it did not party on the weekend and squander it's energy. Perhaps it might be able to evolve if it keeps it's energy rather than ejecting it. Much of the culture in general seems to me to be based around the ejecting of sexual energy, the sugary songs, sugary ideas and so on. It is not continent or grounded. In nature some organisms manipulate you to release your energy. For instance intestinal parasites stimulate your hunger for sweet food. They have learned how to live off humans through millions of years of evolution and are experts. They manipulate you, then you eat sweet food, and they eat it from the intestines. I have the sense that on Fridays, humans are sheared like sheep. They are manipulated to eject their sexual energy which is consumed by .... ? I don't know who is the shearer, or where the wool goes. It is like humans build up energy throughout the week, but instead of putting it in the bank for the future, to facilitate their own growth, they are manipulated to eject their energy and therefore they never progress. Someone is consuming their energy. And for my part being surrounded by people ejecting their energy makes it hard to keep grounded. One way I have dealing with this situation is to "do something new" on Friday, this way I can sort of swim diagonally across the current, neither participating in ejection of energy, but sort of riding the wave a little. Another way is to return to basic grounded meditations, full body breathing and so on.
  3. What Did The Buddha Actually Say

I am interested in these topics, it is part of my study, and watching the light go out in traditions has been important to study. Buddha managed to awaken Sariputta / Mogallana in 7 and 13 days, which indicates that his teaching included direct state to state energy transmission as well as other guidance Another interesting thing is that awakened teachers often do not know what happened or why, and so default to tradition. Those who have something interesting to say about "how",are either those who investigate "how" after it happened, and perhaps also those who followed simple paths. Therefore a being may not teach what works, he may not understand what happened. But his own journey says a lot. Many are exhausted by the struggle, trying this and that, pulling and pushing, until it happens ... it is not easy to teach such a mess of a path ... but this approach is common (for instance Eckhart Tolle). And many teach paths they did not themselves take, which is strange logic. And worryingly people like Jiddhu Krishnamurti and Nisargadatta Maharaj taught for decades and in the end said nobody really understood. Mooji has just reached this point and is starting to warn students about it. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev also. These beings are happy to be in an awakened state, but do not have the will or competence to investigate "how" or "what" actually happened. So instead they try to explain on the cuff, or they default to tradition ... and then it doesn't really work, maybe only for a few who were close. This is not really a very good state of affairs for mankind for things to be this bad. Of course I can fall into hatred and frustration, I do not know to what extent this is excusable or appropriate, personally a large part of it is not so I can work on that. And of course those who come to a being of light, to be nourished by the light, can only understand so much and their understanding degenerates the path, generation by generation. This is the process by which light is disseminated into this dark world from above. Like light entering the ocean, the further it goes from the source, the darker it gets, the more mixed with the darkness it becomes, until nothing is left but pitch. But it also true that meditation is a fine environment within which good things naturally happen.
  4. What Did The Buddha Actually Say

You never hate your brother for his sins, but ONLY for your own. Thank you for reminding me.
  5. What Did The Buddha Actually Say

The central tenets of Buddhism do not seem to be what he said, that is a big problem, another problem is that they are wrong. The good thing about Buddhism is that they do actually shut up and sit in meditation, and as long as those tenets are not rolling around in their head, there is a reasonable chance that something might happen. But it's all pretty stupid, like most things on this planet. I have just been learning about the degeneration of the traditions of "A Course In Miracles", 5 years after the book was produced it started to decay with wise-acres arriving to rewrite and delete bits they didn't like. And then the next generation comes and edits once again, and it decays to the next level and the next. It didn't take long, people can't help themselves. If you actually read what Buddha did, and copy him you won't go far wrong. Likewise with Jesus, he spent most of his life trying to teach disciples that just didn't get it, and outwitting Jewish teachers who were trying to get him killed. Finally he couldn't bear it much long and walked into his own execution, apparently. Their own lives are the message. But people seem (and correct me if I am wrong) to just read the tenets and the rivers of sewage that flow out of the generations of followers all adding their own special crap to the flow.
  6. The perfect square has no corners?

41 The wise student hears of the Tao and practices it diligently. The average student hears of the Tao and gives it thought now and again. The foolish student hears of the Tao and laughs aloud. If there were no laughter, the Tao would not be what it is. Hence it is said: The bright path seems dim; Going forward seems like retreat; The easy way seems hard; The highest Virtue seems empty; Great purity seems sullied; A wealth of Virtue seems inadequate; The strength of Virtue seems frail; Real Virtue seems unreal; The perfect square has no corners; Great talents ripen late; The highest notes are hard to hear; The greatest form has no shape; The Tao is hidden and without name. The Tao alone nourishes and brings everything to fulfillment. This is about how coarse people do not identify virtue when they see it, "they laugh out loud". Going forward seems like retreat If you invest your time in self-cultivation a coarse person might say you are "giving up" ... well "giving up" is finding a new solution. The highest Virtue seems empty A coarse person might say "where will peace get you" ... well peace is the answer. The perfect square has no corner hmm ... coarse people look for imperfection, for noise, for corners, for jagged things, for betrayal, for war ... it is only this they can understand. Even a square with such obvious pointy bits, does not cause disturbance to a sage who no longer clings to corners, he is a still lake even when the pointy bits of a coarse world come to him. Which is very beautiful however we can also say that if people need war in order to grow because that's where they are at .... then war. That is the message of the Bhagavad Gita you must war if you need to. If you do not war then you will not grow but shrivel up meaninglessly. Also conceal your illumination. In this world a sage might choose to enter society again, and act as if he clings to corners (even if he is inwardly undisturbed) if he choose to participate in the coarse world.
  7. What Did The Buddha Actually Say

You aren't respectful the Buddha if you join the religion. His example was to leave religions and go on his own. Same with Jesus he left Judaism and went on his own. Truly it is strange and of very low dumbness to say you follow these men by joining a crowd of wise-acring monkeys, who write a million things all attributed to someone. It's quite obvious in Christinaity that the wars and hatred that have flowed out have zero to do with what Jesus taught. Likewise the nihilism has flowed out of Buddhism. You are empty before the path, that is why you take the path to become full.
  8. What do you do when the hexagram doesn't seem to apply?

We can learn to understand how existence works because of the "as above so below level". How does a father respond when his child is insincere ? The father's role is to nourish his charges.
  9. What do you do when the hexagram doesn't seem to apply?

When you are insincere and you ask a question .... how should the I Ching respond to you ? Should it take your question at face value ? No, because you are in a bad state and the I Ching tries to give you what you need, that is it's purpose, to help existence. If you do not understand the answer it most likely means you are in a bad state and corruption is active within you. Try to listen to what it says.
  10. What Did The Buddha Actually Say

Here's an answer: "The short answer to this question is very simple: we do not really know. That, however, is not really an acceptable answer to most people because in the past 2500 years or more, many had produced what they claimed were teachings they received from the Buddha directly." https://www.buddhistdoor.net/features/what-exactly-did-the-buddha-say- And so I will make up my own mind then that Sidharttha was not actually a suicidally depressed maniac !!!
  11. What do you do when the hexagram doesn't seem to apply?

Sometimes the I Ching answers your question, sometime it speaks directly to you because your real question is hidden. Sometimes you are insincere and the I Ching does not answer.
  12. I would be interested in comments on the follow idea : A man needs experiences to live, physical emotional mental. These experiences transformation of energy, and that is the work of man ... as he works through his experiences he transforms energy, and in return gains something from existence ... he is paid for his work. That is why when you have a full life you feel good, existence pays you for your work, for experiencing life. In our current society, life is often sitting on a seat in front of a machine, doing repetitive meaningless tasks, feeling nothing or perhaps just programmed feelings from the culture, and as for mental work is reduced to agendas and arguments. There is little nourishment in it and mankind is being starved of having a normal life with the normal transformation of energies. He is starved in a sterile culture, he cannot do his job of transforming physical emotional mental experiences, and is therefore not paid by existence and is unhappy. So man in this situation attempts to fix this situation by consuming himself. He tries to find a way to have experiences because society provides none for him. One way of doing this is to manipulate your own sexual functions in order to ... feel something in a world without feelings. As there is no nourishment outside, you try to eat your own self. The more starved people are in a sterilised and unreal world, the more man will respond by consuming himself in order to make some attempt to find some type of nourishment.
  13. My favorite topics

Hi Pedro, I found your posts very helpful and just ordered both the books you mentioned, plus have started dissolving st 36 which is doing good tings on my right leg which is a mess blockage wise. Currently I am using BK Frantzis's guidance. Do you think it is possible to dissolve blockages in another body ? In another person ? Is it just the same ?
  14. Welcome Welcome

Hello just wanted to say hello to Tao Bums. I have been practicing Michael Winn's Qigong in the morning for about 3 years ever since I developed some bad stomach issues and felt there were deeper causes. And in the afternoon I tend to practice Bruce K Frantzis's techniques, and silk reeling from Ken Gullette. My practice changes after every few months as required. I also meditate several times a day in a Zen style, and study the books and scriptures from various traditions, for instance Course in Miracles (72 edition). I have some recordings of the Tao Te Ching that I have slowed down and added a meditative backing track, and I often sit and soak in its wisdom. I have done the same for the Astavakra Gita. Soon I will receive a DVD for Liu He Ba Fa, which I will try to learn slowly as I would like to do some longer work. A large part of my struggle is dealing with blockages on the right side of the body, but I will post about that later. Thank you.
  15. Mair 18:3

The question is not what we are, but what we can be. Saying we are a part of the whole ... or whatever .... okay but when ? Before the path ? Or after ? People do not specify, do they. Because they are before the path. Only if you have reached the summit can you discuss the summit as well as the valley. Otherwise all you have to talk about is the valley meaning you are before the path. Perhaps we just do know, but refuse to do the work.
  16. The Source sends out sunbeams … and that is what a human is, a sunbeam. The beam lasts for 100 years or so. Unless …. unless it turns back to its origin, and by repeatedly turning back, feeling the source, surrendering to the source. Then it becomes a Corona, a loop, and so is immortal. As the energy flows into us, we flow back into the origin. It is no longer dependant on the body.
  17. lot of tears?

It is not a problem ... it is you. Be what you are. Let the tears flow and get into the bath with them, rest there and let the heavens open. You are very fortunate. Very fortunate. Rivers of life.
  18. The Tao of disappointment

Perhaps you are sick of people using Taoist philosophy to explain away things and not engage in life. As fools listen to Taoist or Buddhist philosophy, they translate it into their coarse unintelligence. And then it becomes an empty meal. One reason they do this is because they refuse to practice and refuse to change. They are in fact not interested at all. Giving up on such people is a sign of health. Light leads to Light, and is quite rare.
  19. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 36

In order to expand our understanding we must grow in both directions on a scale. Grow through expansion, and grow through contraction. Then you can grow, and you are in balance. Then you become competent. Then you become an everyman, a master of all seasons. If reading these words we interpret them as an excuse not to engage or grow, then we are looking for cheap answers, and will shrivel up meaninglessly.
  20. Following the Tao and flexibility

The question is not what do I do, but how can I merge with the Tao.
  21. Mair 18 Ultimate Joy

It is a natural process. Another natural process is that some acorns grow into oak trees. Another natural process is that sheep follow each other off cliffs. Another natural process is that when you were born in a prison you prefer to die there than to risk freedom. Another natural process is that the fearful talk rather than act. Another natural process is that fortune favours the brave.
  22. Mair 18:3

Existence individuated us. This should give us a strong message that there is a reason for this. We are guardians of our individuated expression and we should honour this and this is natural all creatures do this. To not do this is to live with a philosophy of suicide. No awakened being wielded the power of the whole, none of them could make a planet for instance. Therefore they are not the whole; to think you are the whole is an arrogant boast. No you are individuated and that individuation is your responsibility. Is our individual self an illusion, can we not feel the whole ? We can feel both they are like both ends of a bridge, we can feel both polls of the bridge. Is our individuated self false ? Well, is a trainee Doctor ... false ? Or is there just some work to do before becoming .... real ? Monkeys are coarse and sheeplike creatures, they do not feel very much inside. To understand such things one must be able to feel and recognize inside.
